Eminem & Royce donate $25,000 to local musicians through Marshall Mathers Foundation

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, with all the concerts being canceled and local restaurants and bars being closed, many musicians have been left out of work.

Now Detroit is giving back to local musicians who have been struggling to stay afloat this year because of the pandemic.

Starting from August, events raised almost $431,000 for nearly 450 area musicians. About half of that money came from a grant arranged by Oakland County. With the help of a GoFundMe page, The Arts, Beats And Eats Musicians Fund raised approximately $83,000. $16,000 was generated from a drive-in concert weekend in Royal Oak.

Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation, with Royce Da 5’9″ as a board director, contributed $25,000.

It was incredible to have the opportunity to collaborate with local musicians, to actually get live shows going in 2020 and help people who have really had their careers slammed to a halt. There is definitely a sense of optimism for mid to late summer of 2021. It is rough right now, but we are celebrating the chance to do some good, and we have hope for getting live music back in the community next year.” says Jon Witz , director of Arts, Beats & Eats

Today, 3 years ago, Eminem released “Revival”

On this day, exactly 3 years ago (December 15th, 2017), Eminem released “Revival,” the highly anticipated 9th studio album. It’s the follow-up to 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP2.

The album was promoted using a cryptic marketing campaign for a fake pharmaceutical company in late October 2017 but the official release date was first announced by Dr. Dre via Twitter, on November 29th, 2017.

“Revival” became Eminem’s 8th consecutive album to top the US Billboard 200, where it opened with 267,000 album-equivalent units, making Eminem the first musical act in history to have 8 entries in a row debut at its summit.

Although the album was one of the best selling albums in 2017 and went platinum in dozens of countries, commercially it’s still the worst performing album in Eminem’s catalog (excluding “Infinite”). Critics also didn’t favor the album as they called it ‘one of the weakest Eminem albums in his career’

Kxng Crooked: “Lots of people try to push Eminem out of culture, but they always fail”

HotNewHipHop launches The Twelve Days of Christmas. For the next twelve days as we lead up to Christmas, they will be dropping a new interview with a different figure in the hip-hop and pop culture. They kick it off on Day #12 with KXNG Crooked. Check out the interview below:

There really have been a lot of great verses this year. Who would you say, in this hypothetical verse of the year battle, who would you predict to be your biggest competition?

Something from Royce, something from Eminem. You know, they call us the holy trinity of lyricism, me, Royce, and Em. They put the church emoji when they talk about it. So definitely something from Royce, something from Em. I think Benny got it in this year. I think Black Thought got it in this year. That verse Black Thought did, well, any verse Black Thought did. The verse Black Thought did on Russ’ project, that’s a stellar verse. Benny too. So you got a lot of dudes out there who drop some killer verses.

Eminem is always in the talks. I don’t care, they love to hate him. And a lot of people have been trying to push my homie out of the culture. They been making sly remarks – people with platforms. And this ain’t just me speaking from a homeboy level, this me speaking from a fan and a technician myself. You can’t push Marshall out the game. He’s one of the greatest pens to ever exist in Hip-Hop, and it ain’t gon change no time soon. They always get me when I talk about Em. But Eminem is one for sure. Royce got nominated for a Grammy, so you know his pen was going crazy.

Obviously, I liked the Abraham Lincoln scheme. “I Will” has a lot of great things, but from Music To Be Murdered By? Verse of the Year level, I don’t know. In terms of Em’s what verse I would nominate…Verse 2 on “Marsh” was pretty good.

Yeah, that one’s dope.

Eminem responds to Barack Obama after reciting “Lose Yourself” lyrics

On Friday, Production company ATTN and Barack Obama announced that they are teaming up to launch a 5-part video series that highlights some of the biggest themes from the 44th president’s new memoir, A Promised Land, the book that became the bestseller in 2020.

When I needed inspiration on the presidential campaign, I often turned to music. Ultimately it was rap that got my head in the right place, two songs especially: Jay Z’s “My 1st Song” and Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself.” Both were about defying odds and putting it all on the line (“Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would capture it? Or just let it slip…”)” – Obama said, reading a passage from his book.

Eminem responded Obama on his Instagram story with folded hands emoji. You can check out the screenshot below:

Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg also praised Obama’s taste:

THEORY: Eminem & Cole Bennett are definitely releasing another video

Couple of days ago, a picture of Eminem rapping in front of a big green screen surfaced online. The photo instantly sparked the rumors of Eminem dropping the new music video.

Based on the theory provided by one of the Southpawers, @CeaTee_Reviews, this might be true. Read every detail carefully below.

1. In the leaked photo, there are white little dots on the green screen. They are for multiple layered effects.

It is used so they can put something behind Eminem and in front of him at the same time. Like they did it in “Godzilla” music video:

That’s a special green screen that is rarely used for music videos but that’s exactly Cole Bennett’s style. Few days ago, Cole Bennett posted a pictures of a same setup of the green-screen on his Instagram stories:

2. About a week ago, Cole Bennett was in Michigan! Detroit! 8 Mile Road!

3. “It’s gonna be a big December. As of right now there are three videos coming out in December. I can’t say what they are but they are all very special in their own way.” – Said Cole Bennett in an interview few days ago.

4. Kxng Crooked jokingly told fan something related to Eminem happening in mid-December, but was it a joke, at all?!

https://twitter.com/CrookedIntriago/status/1331269409076199425

5. Eminem got really active on Twitter lately. This usually happens when Eminem is preparing to drop something! Em made about 10 tweets in 1 month time span. This is unusual.

6. Why Conway The Machine and Westside Boogie’s albums were pushed back to 2021? Is Eminem releasing something? Tell us your theories in the comments of our social media accounts!
