Akademiks laughs at Adin Ross saying ‘Eminem is GOAT,’ says Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Future would wash Eminem in Verzuz

If there is a person who is going to go hard for Eminem, it’s DJ Akademiks.

Jamaica-born DJ and media personality has been throwing shades at Detroit legend for a minute now. He even got Eminem’s attention back in 2018 when Akademiks called “Revival” album trash and the Rap God dropped “Kamikaze” album.

On a track titled “Fall,” Eminem raps: “Somebody tell Budden before I snap, he better fasten it / Or have his body bag get zipped / The closest thing he’s had to hits is smackin’ bitches (Pump it up!) And don’t make me have to give it back to Akademiks / Say this shit is trash again, I’ll have you twisted / Like you had it when you thought you had me slippin’ at the telly (Yeah) / Even when I’m gettin’ brain, you’ll never catch me with a thot.”

Yesterday, Akademiks was streaming with Adin Ross when the DJ once again discredited Eminem’s place in hip-hop when Adin declared Em as the greatest rapper of all time.

“Eminem versus Drake or Lil Wayne? Are you kidding me ni**a? Adin you f**kin stupid ni**a? Kanye West will also wash that ni**a. What you gonna play? Lose Yourself ni**a? Or Till I Collapse? Get the hell outta here! Kanye is stepping on Eminem, Drake is stepping on Eminem, Lil Wayne is stepping on Eminem. Future not washing Eminem?!?!” said Akademiks.

This is GOAT Talk, a show where Complex journalists ask today’s greats to crown their all-time greats. One of the questions on the card was who is a G.O.A.T. rapper on which Tyga replied:

Cordae says he almost put Eminem and Lil Wayne on the same song

Cordae has recently sat down with Ebro Darden to unpack his album ‘From a Birds Eye View,’ where he talked about Eminem and Lil Wayne collaborations on the album.

“When I made ‘Parables,’ song I knew Eminem’s vocal tone would sound good on that because the beat is like that airy vibe on some Slim Shady, Marshall Mathers LP sort of vibe. So I knew his vocal tone would thrive on that.” – said Cordae

“With ‘Sinister,’ with Lil Wayne, that really wasn’t even going to be an album cut, but Wayne accented that, he brought that record up, honestly. So I just want to make the best music possible, versus like, ‘Okay, I got Em on this, let me redo my verse, let me redo this verse because I got Wayne on it.’” – Cordae added.

He continues: “Funny enough, I was going to put Eminem on ‘Sinister’ as well. It was going to be Wayne and Eminem all on ‘Sinister.’ Just for all the Hollywood glitz and glam, it would have been cool because it is Wayne and Em on the same track. I know how Drake did it on ‘Forever,’ and I was just like, ‘Yo, that is just a flex move of putting Wayne and Em on the same record.’ Nobody has done this since Drake did it on ‘Forever.’ I am kind of just showing my muscle. But it would not have been the proper record, if that makes sense.”

Lil Wayne was asked MGK or Eminem / G-Eazy or Eminem

Two years ago, The Champs chop it up with Lil Wayne where they talked about many things, including Eminem. Check it out below.

Interviewer: Eminem or MGK ?

Lil Wayne: Machine Gun Kelly? I gotta say Eminem cause I do not know too much about Machine Gun Kelly. That is the only reason though.

Interviewer: Eminem or G-Eazy?

Lil Wayne: Again, do not know too much about G-Eazy. Also, I did bunch of joints with Eminem, that is my man. When you get on that joint with Eminem it is like a championship game, and you win it, and they ask you how does it feel. I came in with my game plan and I expected my game plan to work. When you send a song to Eminem you attack it like that, like nah, you not going to do me like this. Either we going be right here (level) with it and we are going to make a beautiful, wonderful, great song, but you ain’t going do me that (above me). And that is what we did. Can nobody say anybody got bodied. I just made sure that he did not body me, cause that boy is a monster.

Lil Wayne and Eminem have previously collaborated on “Drop The World,” “No Love” and “Forever.” Do you think Weezy was equally good compared to Eminem? Watch the interview below and tell us your opinions in the comments.

Steve Aoki explains why remix of Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West & Eminem’s “Forever” failed to be released

DJ and producer Steve Aoki has recently opened up about holding back on raising a family, missed opportunities with Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem, suffering from tinnitus, and losing his best friend.

Aoki’s career has undoubtedly rewarded him with unforgettable moments and opportunities. One opportunity that passed him by in the earlier parts of his journey was a remix of Drake’s “Forever,” song from 2009, featuring Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem.

In a new interview Graham, he recalled how Kanye called him up to share some lyrics he was working on. He then later bumped into Drake, whose team sent him stems of an upcoming track.

“It is Drake, it is Eminem, it is Lil Wayne, and it is Kanye West. I could remix the biggest voices of my career. It never actually ever came out because it just was not that good. Sad to say, but that is life. I had the opportunity – it was not good at the time. If they gave me the opportunity now, it would be a different story.”

Tyler The Creator compares Eminem & Lil Wayne technical skills

Tyler, The Creator set down with Ebro Darden in the Morning for an open, nuanced, and honest conversation on the process behind his new ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ album.

He also discusses his place in hip hop, being slept on in hip hop, coming up with Odd Future, his thoughts on getting banned from the UK in 2015 resulting in the cancelling of shows and how it effected his career, mentors such as Jay-Z and Pharrell, Verzuz, proving people wrong, how his mom shaped his life, comparing Lil Wayne and Eminem and more.

I love Lil Wayne. He keeps getting better. I think people don’t realize it because some of the beat choices but that man only got better on some technical skills in a good way unlike Marshall (Eminem), Marshall got too good that it’s like gross, he’s like too technically good that bro we can’t even fathom it. STOP. Wayne is tastefully good now. Watching one of the greats keep getting better makes no sense to me. Even Jay Z.” says Tyler.

Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem’s “Forever” song is now a platinum seller in the United Kingdom as the song has now sold over 600,000 units in the country.

“Forever” was released as a single from the soundtrack to LeBron James’s More Than A Game documentary. The song was also placed on the re-release of Eminem’s album Relapse, titled Relapse: Refill.

The track was produced by Boi-1da and was originally for Kardinal Offishall featuring Rock City in early 2008, as “Bring It Back”. Kardinal did not use the song for his album and it was later re-sold to Drake, who released it in late 2008 as “I Want This Forever” featuring Lil Wayne and Kidd Kidd.

DaBaby names Eminem & Lil Wayne as his biggest influences

Clive Davis has recently done interviews with DaBaby, Joni Mitchell, Oprah Winfrey, H.E.R. and more. At one point, during the interview, DaBaby was brightened at being asked by Davis to name his three biggest influences. Here is what he replied:

“Lil Wayne. Eminem. So many people, though. Three is not enough. I was definitely a big fan of Kanye, especially early on, so I would … give 50 Cent and Kanye West a tie… I was blessed enough to be able to see a lot of different people have their era, like even like a Nelly, and Lucacris, T.I. … so many people that just had their waves…”

Last year, Eminem also gave his flowers to DaBaby during the interview with Kxng Crooked: “DaBaby is interesting to me. I never know where his rhymes gonna land and that s**t is so interesting to me cause he does it so well.”

Dr. Dre says Aftermath didn’t blow up until Eminem, tells origins of ‘2001’ album title

Dr. Dre has recently set down with Lil Wayne on Young Money Radio where the two talked about where they were at in their career in 1999. Dre also recalls having to name his 1999 album “The Chronic 2001” instead of “The Chronic 2000” after Suge Knight released a Death Row Compilation album under the same name and speaks on how he felt leaving his masters behind after leaving Death Row Records.

“At that time, leaving Death Row, there was a lot going on in my life. I got married in 1996. Had a son in 1997 and then I had to start label, build a new crew and you can imagine how much work that takes. All the things happening simultaneously. I just felt like the music I was doing at that time it was not completely up to par. I think the first record we did at Aftermath it went platinum but it was not my bet foot forward. It didn’t smash. Then Jimmy Iovine introduced me to Eminem and that’s when everything took off.” – says Dre.

And then Dr. Dre continues talking about what are the origins of the “2001” album title and how Suge Knight stole his ideas. You can watch the full thing below:
