Steve Carell reacts to Eminem’s tweet about Minions

Ahead of the release of Minions: The Rise of Gru, IGN sat down with Steve Carell, who voices Minions Gru, where he reacted and rated some of the Minion memes you could find on the internet.

One of the memes was Eminem’s tweet about winning the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame nomination: “Minions got my back. Shout out Gru and them.” wrote Eminem in the caption of the post which says: “The minions congratulate Eminem for Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.”

“This is Eminem’s actual tweet!” Steve Carell laughed when he read the tweet: “That’s pretty funny. I appreciate the shout out. That’s It’s not to me but it’s the gang.”

Minions: The Rise of Gru is the sequel to the spin-off prequel pf 2015 animated-movie “Minions” and the 5th entry overall in the Despicable Me franchise. Directed by Kyle Balda, with Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val as co-directors, the film sees the return of Steve Carell as Gru.

The movie debuted at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 13, 2022, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 1, 2022, by Universal Pictures. Meanwhile, check the video of Steve Carell’s reaction to Minion memes below:

Eminem’s another monumental single hits 1 billion streams on Spotify

After being in the game for almost three decades, Eminem’s streaming numbers still impress the stats lovers. In 2022 alone, Slim Shady has accumulated 3.2 billion streams on Spotify alone!

ApeCoin gains 22% after Eminem & Snoop Dogg debuted ape-themed new single

Last Friday, Eminem and Snoop Dogg debuted the new single, “From the D 2 The LBC,” live on stage at ApeFest 2022, an annual gathering for BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) holders.

The private festival took place in New York and also saw musical acts performances from Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Future, LCD Soundsystem, Haim and others.

The prominent NFT collection’s native Ethereum token, ApeCoin, climbed over 22% overnight, according to data from CoinGecko. As of this writing, the coin was worth $4.92, down slightly from its morning peak of $5.26. In the last week, ApeCoin has risen some 35%.

The price increase signifies a minor rebound from what has otherwise been a disproportionately brutal month for the token, which recently fell some 65% at a pace distinct even for the current bear market.

Just in late April, ApeCoin’s price hit an all-time-high of almost $27 in anticipation of virtual land NFT sales for the BAYC’s metaverse game, Otherside. ApeCoin can be used by holders to vote on ApeCoin DAO governance proposals.

ApeCoin’s recent price spike may have been caused in part by the Friday release of a new music video by Eminem and Snoop Dogg, in which the legendary rappers and noted BAYC ambassadors transform into animated versions of their Bored Ape avatars. The music video, which trended on YouTube throughout the weekend, has garnered almost 9 million views.

Eminem speaks out against the law that bans abortion

Last Friday, The United States Supreme Court voted to overturn the 1973 bill Roe Vs. Wade, leaving it up to each individual state whether to ban abortions or not. Protests erupted across the country and Eminem seems to be one of them.

As a father to three daughters – Hailie Jade, Alaina Mathers and Whitney Scott Mathers, the Detroit legend is taking action. Yesterday, Slim Shady fired off a tweet clearly illustrating where he stands on the issue while providing a resource for his Michigan community.

“As a father it pisses me off that women have fewer rights today than just a few days ago. We are f**king going backwards. Here’s how to help in Michigan.” Tweeted Eminem with a link to an organization called Reproductive Freedom For All.

The link explains now that Roe Vs. Wade has been overturned, a 1931 Michigan law could go back into effect, “making abortion illegal and threatening doctors who provide abortion services with prison for up to 15 years.” The organization proposes an amendment that would ensure no one goes to prison for “providing safe medical care as well as ensure access to a broad range of reproductive health care, including abortion.”

Footage of Snoop Dogg phone-calling Eminem get him into NFT business surfaces online

Eminem and Snoop Dogg have just collaborated on a new track called “From The D 2 The LBC” from upcoming “Curtain Call 2” album. The legendary rappers performed the new single live on stage at ApeFest 2022 for Bored Ape Yacht Club holders. The NFT.NYC side event was an exclusive event for NFT holders and the new track even gave cryptophobic people the feeling of FOMO.

Along with the song and music video, Em and Snoop also dropped BAYC merchandise. The merch was only available to MAYC and BAYC holders, and it was only redeemable using ApeCoin. Holders had 48 hours to claim the drop, with only one item available to each holder.

Earlier this year, Eminem created ripples in the metaverse with a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT, which cost him 123.45 Ether which was approximately $450,000 at that time. The purchase of BAYC #9055 was done by the account holder Shady_Holdings on OpenSea. The NFT was bought from its owner Geegazza who couldn’t contain his excitement on social media.

Champ Medici, Web 3 Architect and founder of Crypto fund, shared a story how he got Paul Rosenberg and Eminem into NFT business through Snoop Dogg.

“I saw Paul Rosenberg eating dinner at the Barclays November 3rd 2021 and I didn’t hesitate to tell him to bring Eminem to this space, he wasn’t convinced so I had my client Snoop Dogg call Em November 21st to convince him.” said Champ Medici and then he shared a video of the phone-call and screenshot of text messages with Paul Rosenberg.

“My son run past Paul about this NFT world we got with metaworld and metaverse that you definitely need to get in cause s**t over there.” tells Snoop to Eminem and Em responds: “That’s crazy idea. I don’t even know you could do that.”

Then Champ continues tweeting: “A few months later Nick Yads and The Champ flew to New York City to meet with Paul Rosenberg again to walk him through how it would work and what ideas we thought would best fit their brand. Both Parties own Bored Ape so we felt it was extremely aligned to make the music video cross over.”

“We ran the idea by Yuga Labs and it was green lit light. We flew to Detroit right after closing Garyvee VeeCon in Minnesota 30 days later the music video was completed and history was made. Eight months and some change it took to make this happen.” Champ added while sharing the video of Eminem and Snoop Dogg watching music video of “From The D 2 The LBC.”

“I’m not bragging or making this about me it’s just a beautiful thing to see how time works and ideas are always on our side. To any go getters out there that may have to go through a journey of people fully not understanding your vision stay down for the come have faith and be patient.” he said at the end of his tweet series.

Westside Boogie’s “More Black Superheroes” album receives positive reviews from critics

About a week ago, Westside Boogie released “More Black Superheroes,” the follow-up to his Shady Records debut album “Everythings For Sale.” The new 12 buttery smooth tracks boast features from Snoop Dogg, Souja Boy, Smino and Storm Ford among others.

The album has received positive reviews from critics. Check out what they got to say about Boogie below.

Pitchfork – 7.3/10

As opposed to the straightforward way 2019’s Everything’s for Sale approached the transactional nature of love and death, there’s a tinge of irony to More Black Superheroes that gives weight to its darker moments. Honesty may be his superpower, but he’s no better at avoiding temptation or succumbing to emotional impulses. And yet, the dichotomy of trying versus succeeding to better yourself is the latent theme of the album. You can’t be a hero if you’re not willing to face your demons.

Beats Per Minute – 8.3/10

MORE BLACK SUPERHEROES is an album that finds Westside Boogie trapped between two poles. He’s reaching for the enlightenment and even grandeur that comes from speaking on the issues that he truly wishes to tackle, yet, he’s constantly dragged back down by his very humanity. Suffice to say: he’s no superhero, and none of us are. Yet, in the very aspiration, in the desire to reach for that unfathomable peace and perfection, he’s doing and saying more than most rappers bother – or even dare – to. He says it himself: “Ain’t nobody bigger than the program.”

RatingsGameMusic – 8/10

People automatically assume that street rappers aren’t allowed to create music that is well-structured and pure. Yes, Westside Boogie is a certified street ninja, but he’s also a great musician; both things can be true. In MORE BLACK SUPERHEROES, it’s amazing how he puts the guard that we assume he has down and makes everything from alternative hip-hop to soulful hip-hop tracks. Don’t get it wrong, you still get your gangsta music like “AIGHT,” but for the most part, you just get really good music with big messages in it.

Legends Will Never Die – 7/10

On More Black Superheroes, we have to admire the whole concept of embracing your powers as well as how much Westside Boogie has grown both creatively and personally since the last time we heard from him.

Nick Cannon lists Top 5 rappers of all time, includes Eminem

Nick Cannon speaks with XXL Magazine Associate Editor Kemet High to discuss the artist’s recently released mixtape, The Explicit Tape: Raw & B, top five favorite rappers of all time, working with Stevie Wonder on upcoming album Ghetto Blues, being inspired by singer Summer Walker and much more.

“I do ‘top 5 rappers’ thing on my radio show all the time. Shouts out to everybody but number five is Marshall Mathers, Eminem. I gotta give props and respect and credit to the man cause he’s a beast because criteria for me for top five is obviously numbers, skill, flow, storytelling ability or messaging, lyricism based on the bars and how you put it all together and that dude checks all the boxes so definitely I’ll give Em number five.” – Nick Responded

Then he continues: “Andre 3000 forth. Slick Rick. I think Slick still holds my number three. My number three is questionable cause I wanna go with Slick Rick or Drake. That spot is right there for me. And two is Tupac and number one Jay-Z.”

He is going that hard because he knows I’m going to match him on the same level and that’s what it is when you making records with people that you love. It’s competitive but for the right reason.
