Comparing 8 Mile & Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ movies in numbers

8 Mile is a 2002 American hip-hop drama film directed by Curtis Hanson and written by Scott Silver. It stars Eminem in his film debut, alongside Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, Kim Basinger, Anthony Mackie and Michael Shannon. The film, which contains autobiographical elements from Eminem’s life, tells a story of a white rapper B-Rabbit (Eminem) and his attempt to launch a career in rap/hip-hop, a music genre dominated by African-Americans.

Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is a 2005 American hip-hop crime drama film, starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in his feature film acting debut. Similar to Eminem’s movie 8 Mile, which it used as a template, the film is based on 50 Cent‘s own life and was directed by Jim Sheridan. The name of the film is shared with 50 Cent’s debut album of the same name.

50 Cent – “Part Of The Game” ft. NLE Choppa & Rileyy Lanez

50 Cent teams up with NLE Choppa and Riley Lanezz for the “Raising Kanan” theme song, titled “Part Of The Game.”

Fiddy previously previewed  the song on his social media accounts which is the official theme music for Power spin-off series Raising KANAN. 50 Cent is back on his hustler s**t while he trades verses with NEL Choppa over some soulful East Coast production, while 19 years old RnB singer Rileyy Lanez singing over the beat.

Even though there has not been an exact date announced for Raising KANAN, 50 Cent is gearing up for the mid-season debut of Power Book II: Ghost this Friday, December 6th, 2020.

You can listen to the new song via 50 Cent’s Instagram below:

The Game raps about 50 Cent on his new single with Lil Wayne

The Game drops brand new single called “A.I. With The Braids” featuring Lil Wayne. This track was supposed to be for The Game’s 2019 album titled “Born 2 Rap” which celebrates 1 year anniversary tomorrow.

The song was produced by Mike Zombie and it samples The Notorious B.I.G.’s two songs: “Dead Wrong” and “Get Money“. Because the track was surfaced online last year, it didn’t make in to the album but now it is officially released.

In a song, The Game raps: “Stop it, the Tommy got more power than Kanan. They wanna know what I whispered in 50’s ear “G-Unit, motherf**ker, the real Ghost is here.”

Now lets decode the lyrics. With this lines, Game addresses his bond with 50 Cent while name-dropping 3 of Power TV shows’ main characters: James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) and Kanan Stark (50 Cent). TV series which is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and airs on Starz network.

In the TV series, the story is developed behind the life of a character Ghost who runs the drugs traffic in New York city with the help of his right hand character Tommy. Both Tommy and Ghost grew up with Kanan who is considered their mentor.

The Game cleverly references Tommy and Kanan to claim that even though he was considered 50 Cent’s protegee, he has much more power and influence than his mentor by comparing himself to Ghost.

Back in 2005, The Game was expelled from G-Unit group and started a 13 year long beef with 50 Cent which led to countless diss tracks and actual shootouts in the streets. But in 2018 they finally squashed they’re feud at 50 Cent’s party where The Game was caught talking to Fifty’s ear.

50 Cent to drop “Raising Kanan” theme song, ft. NLE Choppa & Rileyy Lanez

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is coming next year! “These new and exciting chapters will continue the journey of some of Power’s most controversial characters while featuring a growing ensemble of complex, distinct characters along with the high-octane drama that set Power in a class of its own.” – says Jeffrey Hirsch, the CEO of Starz.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel set in the 1990s that will chronicle the early years of Kanan Stark, the character first played by executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Mekai Curtis will play the role of Kanan Stark.

Couple of hours ago, 50 Cent shared a snippet of the song on social media with the caption: “New Music: Raising Kanan theme song, 50 Cent, NLE Choppa and Rileyy Lanez. He wants this s**t out as soon as possible!” NLE Choppa responded on Twitter, saying: “No cap, love uncle!”

50 Cent mocks Best Rap Album Grammy nominations

Couple of weeks ago, in an interview with Spotify, 50 Cent, who served as an executive producer for Pop Smoke’s posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon,” shaded the Grammys for not recognizing gangsta rap: “If Pop Smoke’s album is recognized, it will only get recognized because Pop Smoke is gone. The content is similar to what I would do. They did not recognize mine. They gave me Grammys when I was with Em, when I am on records with Eminem.”

Fifty continues: “They are afraid to give Pop Smoke Grammys because they think it is teaching the audience to want to be like Pop. And to be like him is to be a part of gang culture. Who you see get Grammys that is making Drill music? You mean to tell me ain’t none of those songs worthy of it? Those platforms are not for them to acknowledge. It is for the culture, the people to embrace those tones and to really appreciate the artist for doing that.”

Yesterday, The Recording Academy unveiled the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards and Royce Da 5’9″ got the Best Rap Album nomination along with Nas’ “Kings Disease,” D’Smoke’s “Black Habits”, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s “Alfredo” and Jay Electronica’s “A Written Testimony.” As 50 Cent predicted, Pop Smoke’s album didn’t get the nomination but his single “Dior” from that album is nominated for Best Rap Performance.

Fifty headed to his favorite social media platform, Instagram, to address Best Rap Album nominations: “Best Rap Album (laughs). They out of touch this s**t ain’t it, get the f**k outta here.” Check out the actual post below:

Grown man playing on Instagram, real sucka s**t
Why the f**k this clown ni**a playing with my legacy?

Talking ’bout power, but weak ni**as do the most

Couple of hours ago, 50 Cent set down with Big Boy for an interview where the two talked about viral Verzuz Battle. “If you think about, from my time period, there is nothing that can match that run. You know what? Look. Okay, The Game can not play no records with my voice on it. He got some hits. It would be interesting.

“The Game got some hits. It would be interesting.”

– 50 Cent

Fifty continues: “As much as we argued and fought in the early stages, I would rather see him benefit from the momentum than someone else. He was still part of G-Unit and is gonna be a part of the legacy of, overall. Even if you just wanna concentrate on the break up.”

Check out first few bars from the song and bump the track below:

“I see ni**as lie to they self, they probably think they lying to me…
You incapable of becoming what you trying to be…
I heard it all, I’ma do this, I’ma do that…
I’ma cop a Phantom and show up with a new six-pack…
I’ma f**k that ni**a b**ch, I’ma get me a chain…
I’ma rap and blow the roof off this Hip Hop game
I’ma slang a couple beats, get rich like you…
Dre ain’t the only ni**a with tracks, I got heat, too…

Get some money and you blow it because you trying to floss…
You’re lifestyle don’t support that you about to fall off…”

50 Cent’s “In Da Club” hits 1 Billion views on YouTube

Probably 50 Cent’s greatest hit song “In Da Club” has just surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. The song was originally supposed to be a D12 song for the 8 Mile soundtrack album. Dr. Dre, who produced the track, played the instrumental for Fifty, who immediately wrote the lyrics for the song within an hour.

According to The Billboard Book Of Number 1 Hits, when choosing which song should be the lead single for Get Rich or Die Tryin’s album, Eminem favored “If I Can’t” but Dre insisted “In da Club” instead. After they tossed the coin, “In da Club” was chosen. The music video of the song features cameos from both, Eminem and Dr. Dre.

“In da Club” eventually was released as the lead single for Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ under Shady Records. The song hit No. 1 in seven countries and went multi-platinum in the United States.
