Eminem hits 1 Billion on-demand streams in US in 2021 alone

Eminem continues to impress the charts with huge numbers of streams as the Detroit legend hits 1 billion on-demand stream in the United States in 2021 alone (4 months).

On-demand streaming refers to streaming where the data streams have been prepared and are available for users who wish to play a specific song or video at a specific time. It includes all the official streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, TIDAL and others.

Last month, Eminem became the first 90s act to surpass 25 billion Spotify Streams in total as his 2002 classic hit “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg from The Eminem Show album surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform, making it the only non-single song to reach this milestone in Spotify history.

It should also be noted that Eminem’s “Lucky You,” featuring Joyner Lucas has just hit half billion streams on Spotify alone.

BREAKING: Eminem is dropping NFT this Sunday!

Nifty Gateway has just announced that Eminem is dropping something this Sunday, that can be anything from demo track to a full audio, from a picture to a video, from snippet to a teaser, from merch to anything that can be sold digitally for NFT.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio and other types of digital files.

Many artists, including The Weeknd dropped new songs via NFT. We are not assuming that its a new track but the possibility is there!

Today, Eminem celebrates 13 years of sobriety

Eminem is celebrating 13 years of sobriety today, April 20, which, ironically, also happens to be considered the cannabis celebration day. Today, Eminem will receive sobriety coin, which is blue, silver and black and has the number 13 engraved in the middle of it. Around the token we can read the words: “unity,” “recovery” and “service,” with the phrase “one day at a time” written at the top.

Eminem became sober on April 20, 2008, five months after experiencing a nearly-fatal methadone overdose. “It looks like Vicodin, it’s shaped like Vicodin? F**k it. I remember taking one of the pills in the car on the way home, and thinking, ‘Oh, this is great,’ I went through them in a couple of days, then went back and got a lot more. All I remember was hitting the bathroom floor and waking up in the hospital. The doctors told me I’d done the equivalent of four bags of h**oin. They said I was about two hours from dying.” Said Eminem in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2011.

Congrats Eminem for coming back to music from hell! #13YearsSober

Eminem reacts to SNL spoof of “Without Me” with one emoji

Back in March 27, Saturday Night Live did the parody of Eminem’s 2002 hit song “Without Me,” not just in song, but the track’s popular video as well.

The sketch kicked off with Kate McKinnon portraying Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, who was speaking to a group of economy students. After the professor (Kyle Mooney) asked if there were any questions for Yellen, familiar notes from Em’s tune off The Eminem Show start to play as the camera pans to Pete Davidson dressed as the rapper’s fake superhero Rap Boy from the “Without Me” video.

After stumping the professor, Chris Redd — dressed as Dr. Dre’s take on the Matrix‘s Morpheus — chimes in to offer pills and explain further. Confused by the “complete nonsense,” McKinnon’s turns to the janitor — played by musical guest Jack Harlow — for a more “eloquent” explanation of what, exactly, NFTs are.

Almost a month later, Eminem responded to the spoof with one emoji. Check out his tweet below:

Ni**as like Busta Rhymes, Raekwon, Ghostface, Method Man, Prodigy (R.I.P.), Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Eminem, guys like that. They give me my flowers. I do not really need flowers from anybody else. Other than that, in the public eye, a lot of people overlook me and I really feel like that so yes I agree.”

Brooklyn, New York-born iconic rapper has recently set down with Talib Kweli where he talked about Eminem: “Honestly, I did not recognize I had influence on Eminem until I spoke to Big Proof. Rest in peace. Eminem has a unique style but I did not really see how it resembled mine. If anything, flow-wise, it resembled more Busta Rhymes. It just my opinion. We did the interview just recently. He was talking to me about my rhymes and I was sitting there like ‘Okay, okay, I get it now.’ Em is a beautiful brother man because, I mean, nothing goes over his head. He is a student of the game that studies it like a scientist. He studies it thoroughly. It was a good conversation we had. He is real deep into hip hop.”

The two hip-hop legends met for an interview which Kane is planning to release soon. But what if they did a song together too? One of the most influential rapper has just announced the new mixtape “The Light Up” which is dropping soon. What are chances that Eminem is on it?
