As you might know 50 Cent served as an executive producer for Pop Smoke’s posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” and the King of the New York predicts that the project will be snubbed at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
“If the album is recognized, it will only get recognized because Pop Smoke is gone. The content is similar to what I would do. They did not recognize mine. They gave me Grammys when I was with Em, when I am on records with Eminem.”
50 Cent has been nominated for 14 times at the Grammys, but he only won in 2010 for Eminem’s “Crack a Bottle” which also features Dr. Dre. Fifty has received nominations for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best New Artist throughout his career but has won none.
“They are afraid to give Pop Smoke Grammys because they think it is teaching the audience to want to be like Pop. And to be like him is to be a part of gang culture. Who you see get Grammys that is making Drill music? You mean to tell me ain’t none of those songs worthy of it? Those platforms are not for them to acknowledge. It is for the culture, the people to embrace those tones and to really appreciate the artist for doing that.” 50 Cent added.
As far as Eminem, the Rap God has been nominated for 44 times and has won 15 times.
In Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?!, NME Magazine quizes artists on their own career to see how much they can remember. This week their guest is hip-hop’s juggernaut Busta Rhymes.
Interviewer: You were nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 2000 Grammys for ‘Gimme Some More’. Who beat you?
Busta Rhymes: Damn man! I can not remember, you might have to help me with that one!
Interviewer: You lost out to your friend Eminem’s ‘My Name Is’.
Busta Rhymes: Eminem is one of my favorite MCs ever. We have done multiple records together and even on his latest album, ‘Music to Be Murdered By’, the track ‘Yah Yah’ used my vocals from ‘Woo Hah!! Got You All In Check’. He is one incredible motherf**ker! Wyclef Jean was the first person to play ‘My Name Is’ to me, before it was even out. We were on tour together and he had a six-song EP from Eminem. When we played ‘My Name Is’, I could not believe it. I went so crazy on his bus that I shattered his windshield with my head! I could not believe the s**t that Eminem was saying and Dr. Dre’s production was unbelievable – at the time, nothing existed like it in the whole game.

On this day, 24 years ago (November 12, 1996), Eminem released his first ever studio album “Infinite,” fully produced by Denaun Porter. The album received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure as it hardly sold 1,000 copies.
Exactly 24 years later, Mr. Porter celebrates the anniversary of the album on Instagram, saying:
“We went to Africa a couple decades later and saw a kid holding up an “Infinite” sign in the front row Talk about full circle… Hey, Eminem, I think it’s safe to say we did it, Broski…”

Our boy Boogie bodied the track with reggae influenced verse and smooth, jazzy hook. Most notable lyrics are:

Back to that packing TS at the Target…
Back to the hood, I turn office to the apartments…

It was rumored that T.I. and Busta Rhymes were going to clash each other on Verzuz but it didn’t happen. Busta told Complex magazine: “These are all glorious moments. We’re celebrating each other and having fun and we getting the opportunity to show some competitive sh*t.”
“The nature of what this culture has been built on from the very beginning is to be competitive, whether respectfully competitive or disrespectfully competitive continued. But just for the record, I never asked to do a Verzuz with T.I. — this was presented to me by Joe Crack.” added Busta Rhymes.
In the same interview, Busta revealed who he really wants to battle: “I do not want to do no corny Verzuz. I would not do one with anyone whose catalog is not crazy. I would love to do a Verzuz with somebody I am a fan of…I would love to do a Verzuz battle with Eminem, I would love to do a Verzuz with Lil Wayne. I would love to do a Verzuz with Hov (Jay Z).”
