Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem’s “Forever” song is now a platinum seller in the United Kingdom as the song has now sold over 600,000 units in the country.
“Forever” was released as a single from the soundtrack to LeBron James’s More Than A Game documentary. The song was also placed on the re-release of Eminem’s album Relapse, titled Relapse: Refill.
The track was produced by Boi-1da and was originally for Kardinal Offishall featuring Rock City in early 2008, as “Bring It Back”. Kardinal did not use the song for his album and it was later re-sold to Drake, who released it in late 2008 as “I Want This Forever” featuring Lil Wayne and Kidd Kidd.
The 2009 version of “Forever” features Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. Rapper Jay-Z called it the best posse cut of the decade. Kanye West also revealed that he had to re-write his verse for two days after hearing Eminem’s verse.
Eminem keeps reaching unachievable accolades. The Detroit legend has now surpassed 20 billion total views on YouTube which makes him the first hip-hop artist to reach this milestone.
Overall, Eminem becomes sixth artist to surpass 20,000,000,000 mark.
Top three most viewed videos on Eminem’s YouTube channel are “Love The Way You Lie,” “Not Afraid” and “Rap God.” His channel has also recently surpassed 48 million subscribers.
Eminem most recently became the first artist to have two albums with over 11 million pure sales each in the United States. It’s just an ordinary day for the Slim Shady.
On 20 years anniversary of their debut album, legendary hip-hop group D12 have reissued an expansive, deluxe edition of Devil’s Night. The original album was dropped 20 years ago, exactly on this day, June 19 2001.
Upon its release, the album debuted at No.1 on the US Billboard 200 charts and No.2 on the United Kingdom’s official chart. The album also reached the top of the Canadian charts.
With Swifty McVay, Kon Artis, Kuniva, Big Proof, Bizarre, and Eminem on deck, Devil’s Night found the six Detroit emcees bringing an endless slew of violence and depravity to a collection of Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Bass Brothers production.
“Words Are Weapons” and “These Drugs” appeared on streaming services for the first time ever. There’s also a fire track titled “Freestyle,” which was previously released but has now been given a different instrumental.
Additionally, the expanded version of the album features instrumentals of the songs “Shit On You,” “Purple Pills,” “Fight Music,” and “Blow My Buzz.”
This Friday marks the 25th anniversary of Beck’s landmark album Odelay. Beck went on Matt Wilkinson’s Apple Radio show today to discuss the Odelay era and other career tidbits.
At one point the interview drifted ahead a couple years to the moment when Beck was preparing to release 1999’s Midnite Vultures.
“I went in my first meeting with Jimmy Iovine and I had Midnite Vultures and I was going to play it for him. He said, “Before we do anything, I just signed this kid. It’s going to be massive. It’s going to change everything. We just got the video. They just sent it to us today. Sit down and watch this.” Me and my manager sat down and we’re looking at each other like, “Ah.” So he puts on the record and the video comes on and it’s like, “Hi, my name is.” And it’s this blonde kid rapping. And the song is funny. And then my jaw’s on the floor, because the loop, the sample is a Wurlitzer keyboard, just like on “Where It’s At.” It’s the sample that the Dust Brothers were saving for me to be the follow-up for “Where It’s At.” It’s the exact sample. “I Got The Blues.” Which we were saving for the follow-up to Midnite Vultures. And then Dr. Dre got to it first and he used it for Eminem’s first single.”

In 2002 it was announced that Eminem and Dr. Dre have signed an up and coming rapper by the name of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and since then rap game has never been the same.

Yesterday, Royce Da 5’9″ took on Twitter where the Detroit legend told a short story from the past, while showing love to Eminem.

Yesterday, Mariah Carey’s 2009 single, “Obsessed” turned 12 years, a song that was the lead single off her twelfth studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, which dropped on June 16, 2009.
It was released just only one month later after Eminem took multiple shots at the singer, as also her ex-husband Nick Cannon on the track “Bagpipes from Baghad” from his sixth studio album, Relapse.
To celebrate the anniversary of the album, Mariah Carey posted a TikTok video of her saying “Why you so obsessed with me,” along Eminem’s new look.

Rap icon Dr. Dre and music industry mogul Jimmy Iovine hated school which made them to force to create a new public high school project in Los Angeles.
“I want to reach the inner-city kid, the younger me. Here’s a place that you can go where there’s something that you can learn that you’re really interested in.” said Dr. Dre
“This is for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place… like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that.” – added Jimmy Iovine
Dr. Dre continues: “That guy that didn’t have an opportunity, that had to scratch and figure out things on his own. That had the curiosity but didn’t have these type of opportunities, really smart kids — we want to touch and give them this open door and these opportunities to be able to show what they can do.”

On this day, 17 years ago, June 15, 2004, Big Proof release his solo debut album “I Miss the Hip Hop Shop,” the follow-up of D12’s “D12 World.” The album was released
via Iron Fist Records.
The 19-tracks project includes features from Journalist, MU, T-Flame, Fatt Father, 1st Born, Famous, Killa Khann and Dogmatic. There is no feature from other D12 members, not even Eminem. Proof wanted to answer the question he asked on “My Band”: “How I’m gon’ let the world know that Proof is hot?”
Some of the standout tracks are “Bring It 2 Me” which is produced by J Dilla, “Play With Myself” produced by DJ Premier, “You Know How 2” produced by Denaun Porter aka Kon Artis and “Ja In A Bra,” a diss track to Ja Rule for the feud he had with Shady Records.
Throughout the album, Proof raps about fame, struggles, and other issues he has encountered ever since he has blown up.
Tom MacDonald, who has recently released “Dear Slim” single over Eminem’s production, has just received attention from Royce da 5’9″.
Under the post, in which Tom MacDonald was celebration YouTube Music using his “Snowflakes” song in their advertisement, Royce commented fire emoji, giving the Canadian rapper a super shout out. The two are even following each other.
