8 times Dj Khaled asked Eminem for collaboration

Lil Wayne is releasing the third instalment of his ‘No Ceilings’ mixtape series tomorrow, exclusively hosted by DJ Khaled and today is the born day of Khaled. So we will be hearing lots of ‘another one’ today. Including on Southpawers.

The most popular DJ in the universe has previously worked with countless superstars and the only unachievable feature seems to be Eminem. Dj Khaled has been asking for Eminem feature for like a decade now but the collaboration has never happened.

1. Interview with Rap-Up (2017).

“I wanna work with Eminem. I wanna work with Dr. Dre. I’ve reached out Eminem’s camp before but I didn’t really reached out with the record. I started conversations. Now when I get the right record I’m gonna present it to him. I always tell everybody on every camera that I want to work with Eminem. Hopefully I can get into studio with him. Eminem and Adele would be crazy.”

2. Interview on Hot 97 (2011).

“I wanted Eminem on my album. I’m a fan of him but he doesn’t know me like that. I really want to make it happen. I think it will happen. I worked with Jay Z before. I worked with Kanye West before. I want to reach out Eminem. I want to work with him. I actually have a track ready, waiting.”

3. Interview on BET Awards (2017).

“I’ve always wanted to work with Eminem. I’m just looking for right time and right record before I really step to him and present. I’mma reach out to him. Hopefully soon. Shout out to Dr. Dre as well.”

I’m friends with his manager and I’m going to reach out to him and I’m going to send him something. Hopefully, he’ll like to get on it. I just want to make sure when I send it, it’s the one. Throughout the years, I’ve been telling you I’ve been trying to get him on records. I had the ones, but now, I’m working on the new album, so I want to create the new one. Eminem shares viral “Godzilla” video from TikTok: “Wo did this?!”

Few hours ago, Eminem went on his social media accounts to share a remake of “Godzilla” video which has recently went viral on TikTok., with the caption “WTF, who did that?” You can check out the post below:

Earlier this year, Eminem has challenged his millions of fans to see if they can rap as fast as him in Godzilla Challenge. As you might know, the Detroit legend surpassed “Rap God” and “Majesty” tracks in speed as he spat 224 words in only 31 seconds.

Month later, Eminem announced the winner. It was Triller user JackSherlock1. He was seen effortlessly keeping up with the verse while also showing off his extensive collection of Eminem’s vinyl albums.

Marv Won remembers shooting Eminem’s 8 Mile battle scenes

Lyrically deadly member of the Fat Killahz, Marv Won, has recently appeared on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast where he discussed his battle with Eminem while shooting 8 Mile movie. The battle eventually ended up as a bonus battle in the 8 Mile DVD disk.

As soon as Marv Won says “Everybody that was an extra in that movie was a rapper in the city of Detroit,” Quest Mcody interferes who adds: “People who say that Eminem do not do s**t or has not done s**t for the city outside of the philanthropy that is not promoted, I know for a fact that as a teenager I got paid a lot of money per hour to do absolutely nothing but stand around and meet some of the greatest rappers in the world.”

Marv continues: “At that point, we were rowdy. What the director decided, was he was going to do a contest. It was like we gonna pick three people to come up here and pantomime scenes. Eminem was going to rap, and it was going to be some b-roll. I was not going to rap. I was feeling myself. Like naah, I am bigger than this. And then I got a call from my manager. HE was like ‘NI**A, YOU GOING TO DO THAT S**T.’ So I did it. and I was one of the ni**as that made it to the finals.

“So they bring Eminem in, and they like alright, just spit a verse. I went second. It got more of a reaction than he wanted. What people do not know is he was rapping when the beat came on, but the mic was off. His voice was mastered. So the beat dropped, and he is rapping but nobody hears it. And I am trying not to break character, like “for real?” And I’ll never forget, he’s flipping his mic, and he’s like I got something for your fat a**, Marv. And he raps, and I’m like you can’t let me have this moment? like what the f**k?”

“He raps, I beat him [LAUGHS]. Nahh, that is my man. But what I’ll say, is that s**t literally changed my life. Not even on a money standpoint, but the fact that when that DVD dropped, they used that scene to sell DVDs. Up until that point, my mother thought I was f**kng wasting my time. Honestly, I had been all these places but it did not resonate. Until she is looking at Entertainment Tonight and they are playing the scene and she’s like, good luck with your career Marv Won. And this is huge. A kid from the hood to be recognized for that and for them to make decision to use me in that instance I’m forever indebted, nobody can say anything bad about that man to me. That’s my actual man.”

“I was at the party and Eminem was there and he’s shaking everybody’s hand but he did not shake my hand. I’m like, the f**k is this about. And he’s like nah, I wanna rematch. I said you are winning in life man! YOU WON! I’m f**ked up. I have not had my haircut for months!”

Illa Da Producer, the man who has produced “Killshot,” “The Ringer,” “Lucky You,” featuring Joyner Lucas, “Offended,” “Normal” and “Good Guy,” featuring Jessie Reyez for Eminem, did the question and answer session on Instagram. Of course the producer received many questions regarding Eminem. Check them all below.

Eminem snubbed by The Grammys or did he even submit his music?

Was Eminem snubbed by the Grammys? Yesterday, The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards and Royce Da 5’9″ got the Best Rap Album nomination, which is up against Nas’ “Kings Disease” D’Smoke’s “Black Habits”, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s “Alfredo” and Jay Electronica’s “A Written Testimony.”

As soon as the nominations were announced, Stans flood the internet, shaming the Grammys staff for snubbing Music To Be Murdered By in Best Rap Album category and “Godzilla,” featuring Juice WRLD in Best Rap Song or Best Rap Performance categories.

Eminem had No. 1 album in the United States this year. Music To Be Murdered By arrived in January as another surprise project, like Kamikaze album. The project shifted 280,000 total album equivalent units in its first week of release and debuted at No.1 on US Billboard 200, propelled by the chart topping single “Godzilla” featuring the late Juice WRLD and one of the biggest storytelling single in last decade, “Darkness.”

The Detroit legend became the first artist in history to have 10 consecutive albums land at No. 1, beating tied record with Kanye West and one of six artists to have released at least 10 No. 1 albums. Eminem was also one of the top streaming artist this year. Despite all this accolades, the Recording Academy did not find the album worthy of a nod, which was not missed by his Stans.

But the main question is… Did Eminem even send his music for submission? Slim Shady and the Grammys are not friends anymore and if Eminem didn’t send his music to the Grammys staff, then it’s logical why Music To Be Murdered By didn’t get any nomination.

Few hours ago, The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards and Royce Da 5’9″ got the Best Rap Album nomination, which is up against Nas’ “Kings Disease” D’Smoke’s “Black Habits”, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s “Alfredo” and Jay Electronica’s “A Written Testimony.”

Today, 6 Years Ago, Shady Records dropped “Shady XV”

On this day, exactly 6 years ago (November 24, 2014), Shady Records label dropped a double disk, compilation album Shady XV, performed by various artists, under Shady Records and Interscope Records, executive produced by Eminem.

The album was released in honor of the label’s 15th anniversary and if features Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D12 and Yelawolf, as well as the label’s boss Eminem. The second disc includes some of Shady Records greatest hits, featuring 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Obie Trice, Ca$his an more.

The album debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 chart and No.1 on US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, with first-week sales of 138,000 copies in the United States and following year the album was certified Gold in the country by RIAA for selling 500,000 copies.

One of the most surprising tracks on the album appears as a bonus track and its the demo version of “Lose Yourself.” Eminem recorded demo version before completely rewriting the song to make it fit with the Jimmy Smith/B-Rabbit character from the 8 Mile movie. As Eminem says in on of his interviews, he does not even remember when and where he recorded the demo version of the Oscar-wining song.

Martha Stewart reveals Eminem refused to visit her Daily Show

In a new interview, Martha Stewart opened up to People Magazine about that famously celebrated pool selfie, her relationship with hip-hop music and even her had times in prison. She also revealed that she had many rappers on her “The Daily Show” but there was only one who would not come.

“Rap had always interested me. That kind of poetry really resonates with me. I listen to the words, although some of them might be pretty hard to take. Early on I started inviting rappers to my daily show. I had Snoop Dogg, Puff Diddy, Usher among others.”

“The only one that would not come was Eminem. I still have not met Eminem, and that is just ridiculous.” says the lifestyle guru.

63rd GRAMMY Awards Nominations [Livestream]

The wait is almost over! On November 24, 2020 the world will finally know who the 63rd GRAMMY Award nominees are. The huge announcement will happen during an one-hour-long livestream, which begins at approximately 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time or 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. will be joined by past GRAMMY winners and nominees while he reveals the nominees for all 84 categories. The virtual party will be livestreamed on Southpawers.com.

4 times Taylor Swift showed love to Eminem

Yesterday, Taylor Swift won three awards, including fan-voted “Artist of the Year” at American Music Awards 2020. Before the voting was closed, surprisingly, Eminem fans on Twitter were encouraging their platforms to vote for the country singer. Taylor earned the support from Stans by showing love to the Rap God throughout her extraordinary career. Check some of the occasions below.

VOTE: Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” VS Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”

The Marshall Mathers LP is the second major label solo studio album by Eminem, released on May 23, 2000, through Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment.  Considered by many as his magnum opus, The Marshall Mathers LP set the first week sales record for a solo artist’s album by selling almost 1.8 million copies. It went on to become diamond certified album in the United States, won two Grammys and is considered by many as one of the finest records of all times.

Even though Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy can’t touch the sales of Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, the album is a genre-bending masterpiece that explores the darker sides of celebrity, fame, and love. The album was widely acclaimed by both fans and critics. It received a 94 out of 100 score on Metacritic and later appeared on numerous magazines’ greatest albums ever made lists. The album won Best Rap album at the 2012 Grammys.

Nicki Minaj equals Eminem’s record after winning 2 awards at AMA 2020

The American Music Awards 2020 aired live Sunday night and some of the biggest names in music took home awards, including Nicki Minaj, who won in two nominations.

Nicki Minaj took home Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop artist, beating Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion and Favorite Latin Song for KAROL G and her song “Tusa,” beating Bad Bunny’s “Vete” and Black Eyed Peas and J Balvin’s “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)”

With those wins, Nick Minaj tied Eminem as the rapper with the most awards won in the American Music Awards’ history. Both have taken 8-8 awards home.

Eminem was previously nominated 25 times and won 8, including the most notable win in 2003 when the Slim Shady took 4 awards home in one night. Eminem still has most wins in Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist category (4 wins).
