Krizz Kaliko reacts to Eminem & JID’s “Fuel”

Multi-platinum rapper, singer, songwriter, and voice actor Krizz Kaliko, who is a long-time collaborator with fellow hometown native Tech N9ne and was signed to Strange Music, has recently reacted to Eminem‘s “Fuel” song, featuring JID, produced by Denaun, from his 12th solo studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace).

“As soon as I hear Em come on it’s like, I ain’t saying… JID is hard! I want to do a song with him, but for some reason when Em come on, his voice sound like the song just goes up a notch. That’s what happened in ‘Speedom.’ I know I did my thing in ‘Speedom’ but when he comes on the song man…I don’t know…” said Krizz Kaliko as soon as Eminem started his verse.

“Everything he says, dude, it ain’t just wordplay. I hope y’all know that. Something about him, he’s not just doing wordplay, it’s all like riddles and rhymes and rhyme schemes and he’s actually telling you a story in the middle of that just two bar segment. Eminem is absolutely forever. His mind is still supper sharp. I don’t care what y’all say. Eminem is forever, man. Putting rhymes in my head like alphabet soup!” said Kaliko as he continued listening to the verse.

“You didn’t let no words with K’s or C’s go. What the rest of us gonna rhyme with, dawg?! I still do rap music, what the rest of us going to rhyme with when you done took all the K’s and C’s music, dude? C’mon dawg! And I’m a chopper. I need those two, three, four syllable words, man, to do doubles and triples. Eminem ain’t leaving nothing else to eat. He eating it all. Just as far as creativity goes, some of his stuff is godly. This whole thing is classic. I can’t wait to do anything song with  you but if you rapping like that now I got to come even harder. I gotta go even harder if we do anything together again. DAMN!” Krizz Kaliko added. You can watch the entire reaction video below:

Royce 5’9″ responds Tech N9ne’s praise to Eminem

Couple of days ago, Tech N9ne sat down with Anthony Ray on his podcast where Kansas City, Missouri-born hip-hop legend gave high praise to Eminem, talked about meeting Slim Shady for the first time during “Anthem” video shoot, Eminem making Jason mask popular and more.

“People trying to give me stuff Jason, I’ve watched all the Friday 13th, I love it all, but Eminem is Jason. So they trying to give me Jason stuff they supposed to give it to Eminem, they give me Michael Myers stuff, Krayzie Bone is Leatherface, Bushwick Bill was Chucky. I’ve been Michael Myers for decades. Eminem has always had…even in his new song with BabyTron and Big Sean, he had f–king mask on with a chainsaw and greater said he did it first. He made it popular. I have not heard the new song yet. I’ve been in the studio trying to get as many songs I can get before I go for my wedding in Puerto Rico.” said Tech N9ne.

Then he continued: “When I did “Anthem”, it was my first time meeting a lot of people that I f–king listened to when I was coming up. I met KRS-1 that day. I met Kool G Rap that day. I met Eminem face to face that day. When I was walking in to do my part, him and his crew they all had big a-s leather jackets and they were coming out like ‘what’s up brother, how you doing.’ I’m like ‘I’m about to shoot my s–t. We are going to do it real soon bro.’ He said ‘yes we are.’ Next time I talked to him was on the phone. He was doing the bottleneck in Lawrence, Kansas. It’s a bar. I was busy doing something and Grant Rice called me and put Eminem on the phone and he said to me ‘you f–king killed it on the Anthem.’ I said ‘look who the f–king talking bro.’ It took 10 years for Speedom to happen after that.”

“Battle Eminem? We are allies man. Some people say Tech’s better than Eminem but I say Tech is different than Eminem. Eminem is f–king meticulous with the words, not saying I’m not but he’s super witty as well. When I look at a lyricist from Rakim all the way up to now, I know from Kool G Rap to Crooked I to Royce to Chino XL, Pharoahe Monch, Busta Rhymes, we pay attention to people who take it that extra mile when it comes to rhyming words, Eminem is at the top of that game. When it come to how I’ve been seeing motherf–kers work words and s–t and that’s not taking away from none of all the people, the names I named are right there with it. I’m saying I’m different than Eminem and we are allies. We are all gang-related and me and Eminem, I can’t believe I’m saying this, me and Eminem at odds could start some racial s–t. Can start some gang bang s–t. I’m so glad we are allies.” Tech N9ne added.

After me made the post about the interview, Royce 5’9″ commented on our post, responding to Tech N9ne’s words where he said Eminem is at the top of rhyming game. Royce said: “He’s on top of ALL games.” Check out the screenshot below:

Ez Mil says second verse of “Realest” was inspired by Eminem & Tech N9ne

Eminem and Dr. Dre‘s latest signee, Philippine’s own Ez Mil sat down with Genius to discuss his newest hit “Realest,” which has been streamed almost 15 million times on Spotify to date.

The rapid-fire hit song features Eminem himself and it’s off Ez Mil’s mot recent project, DU4LI7Y: REDUX. In the latest episode of Verified, Ez talks how he collaborated with the artist he crowns the G.O.A.T.

He also breaks down how a casual email led to his new deal with Eminem’s Shady Records, Dr. Dre’s Aftermath, and Interscope.

“My girl got an email. It said ‘Paul Rosenberg  / Shady / Goliath Records – how to connect with Ez Mil? This is Paul.’ She thought it was fake because its so casual but it was actually pretty serious. And when I found out I was meeting Em and Dre, bro, I don’t know, it’s still crazy.” said Ez Mil during the intro of the episode.

Later, the Shady Records artist talked about the Eminem reference he made in his second verse, where he raps: “I done got hit on the head, barely survived that s–t (Okay) / Minus a nine from ten, Eminem’s spot still sits / But f–k a position, I’m tunin’ him in / Let all you rock out with it.” He said: “This part, I was just paying homage to the GOAT, cause it’s just an honor to be on a song with him.”

“I knew they were gonna hate that flow [last part of second verse] but its because they suck. They don’t know how to do it properly. I learned how to do that flow by listening to a lot of Eminem and Tech N9ne. What inspired me to try to do that was ‘Speedom.’ That song is just nuts.”

Kxng Crooked says Eminem almost jumped on “Beast” song with Tech N9ne & Busta Rhymes

Back in 2015, Tech N9ne landed a big dream collaboration when Kansas City, Missouri-born rapper featured Slim Shady in his song titled “Speedom (WWC3)”.

The same year, in a interview with BET, Tech said Eminem verse did not cost him a penny. According to him, Em only wanted his verse in return.

“Eminem did the verse for nothing but a swap. I was flabbergasted cause I know it cost so much to get Eminem and it’s worth every penny. For him to say, ‘I just want a song from you for this’, that made me feel really beautiful that he felt that way about my music.” said Tech N9ne.

Then he continued: “I haven’t spoken to this guy since the early 2000s or something, and it’s wonderful how that worked out. The fact that he feels like my music is that good that he would wanna do that for me is incredible. For one, do the song for me and then say, ‘No no no, I just want you to give me a song for this’ I’m like ‘Yes!’ That feels so good man”.

Eminem used Tech N9ne’s verse for Southpaw movie soundtracks album on a track called “Beast” (Remix) by Rob Bailey and The Hustle Standard, which also featured Kxng Crooked and Busta Rhymes.

In a recent interaction with fans on Twitter, Crooked I revealed that Eminem almost joined the hard-hitting lyrical beast line-up on the track. The Detroit legend has previously collaborated with Kxng Crooked, Tech N9ne and Busta Rhymes in several occasions but the four has never jumped on a track together.

Em came VERY close to hopping on it.” – Kxng Crooked (Feb. 14, 2023 on Twitter)

He also expressed his desire to work with Eminem again by asking fans who would they prefer to produce a song that features Kxng Crooked, Eminem and Tech N9e. Some of the popular replies include Dr. Dre, DJ Premier and Apollo Brown among others.

Tech N9ne reacts to Eminem’s “Rock Hall” induction

Image: Tech N9ne & Eminem

Few days ago, Eminem got inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Slim Shady gave a nod of respect to a large list of hip-hop idols and influences, both known and obscure, during his induction speech at the Rock Hall ceremony in Los Angeles.

In all, the rap icon took about three-and-a-half minutes to mention more than 100 names after accepting the honor at the 37th annual ceremony held at the Microsoft Theater.

The Detroit legend also performed some of his greatest hits with surprise guests Ed Sheeran and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. The setlist included songs like “My Name Is,” “Sing For The Moment,” “Forever,” “Stan,” “Rap God” and “Not Afraid.”

Eminem received congratulating messages from his peers, including Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz and Royce 5’9″ among others. Today, Tech N9ne also offered some nice words to the Rap God. Marshall shared a short clip of him performing on the Rock Hall stage on his social media accounts with the caption: “”Now how the f–k did this metamorphosis happen?” Thank you Rock Hall, Dr. Dre.” Under the post, Tech commented: “F__in’ MASSIVE bruh bruh! This was written by YOU! Wrote your way ALL the way up to this moment! [Fire Emojis] So much more to be written. L9ve and respect!” [Smiling emoji]

Video of the week: Tech N9ne meets fake Eminem

In a new clip shared last week, Canadian comedian who goes by the name DTG, best known for his Eminem parodies, once again suits up as Eminem in his trademark zip jacket, white tee, baseball cap and gold chain ensemble.

Instead of his usual solo spoofs, fake Slim Shady runs into a few friends this time around, most notably Strange Music boss and one of the most lyrical rappers of all time, Tech N9ne.

“Yo! What the f**k? Em, what’s up, man?” Tech says as he greets DTG with a dap. He then proceeds to ask: “Damn, it’s been a minute. What you been up to?”

Instead of answering Tech’s question, Fake Eminem chooses to go in a rap battle. “You trying to rap right now?” he snaps back. And Tech replies: “Hey man, I been doing enough of that already.”

But DTG still spits his bars as Tech makes a silent getaway: “Red hoodie and red shoes/ If I ever get married, my best dude, guess who, yes you. / Alarm goes off in the morning I wake up, press snooze/ Right tight, left loose/ Yo, Tech, where’d you go, man?‘ C’mon. F**k!”

After realizing Tech has snuck off, tattooist Ryan “Newz” Scarpino and Strange Music rapper King Iso wade into the frame and dap “Eminem” up, after which he chases the pair and asks: “Y’all tryna rap?”

Shared by DTG on his Instagram account, he captioned the video with the following sentence: “Running into Eminem be like.” Among the comments, Tech hopped in to write: “Damn EM we suppose ta be BROTHAS!” Kuniva of D12, Daylyt and King Iso also commented laughing emojis.

Tech N9ne visits Eminem’s “Trailer” & “Mom’s Spaghetti” while being in Detroit

On September 27, 2021 a strange 30-second video clip appeared on Eminem’s YouTube channel: not a music video teaser, or the first few verses of a new rap single, but a quick-moving advertisement. It appeared, Marshall Mathers, the man who brought white working-class angst to the top of the charts, was opening a restaurant.

Two days later, the legendary rapper surprised fans at the grand opening in downtown Detroit, where he served heaping ladlefuls of pasta to a queue of customers that snaked around the block.

Mom’s Spaghetti is named for the famed first verse of “Lose Yourself,” a single written for the movie “8 Mile” that sold more than 10 million copies in the United States and earned Eminem diamond certification, Oscar and Grammy awards.

Inside the restaurant there is Stans’ space called “Trailer” — a merchandise shop above the dining area —  where you can see Eminem-themed pint glasses, T-shirts, sneakers, the Robin costume from the music video for “Without Me,” and much more.

It appears, Tech N9ne visited Detroit couple of days ago and he didn’t miss a chance to visit Eminem’s place in the city. He posted two videos on his Instagram, one which gives the look of the Trailer and the other where he tastes “Mom’s Spaghetti.” In the caption, Tech wrote: “DOPE AF!” while tagging Eminem.

Twista answers “Tech N9ne or Eminem” & “Busta Rhymes or Eminem” questions on Drink Champs

Twista has recently visited NORE and DJ EFN on Drink Champs where the three played QuickTime of Slime game during their almost 2 hours interview.

The rules of the game are as following: NORE asks the guest tough questions with two choices, if the guest answers with “both” he drinks. If he comes out with one of the choices, he does not.

One of the questions was, Eminem or Busta Rhymes.

It seems, it was too hard to answer for Twista, so he drank: “Damn, I have to take a shot.”

Twista had a hard time choosing between Tech N9ne and Eminem too when DJ EFN asked so he drank it too. “Nah, you gotta drink on that one. These are my brothers and its actually hard to choose. They go hard man.”

Tech N9ne talks how Eminem & other rap legends embraced him as an artist

Tech N9ne has recently sat down on Holdin Court Podcast where he talked about how he met Lil Wayne, T.I, Eminem, KRS One, Raekwon and how they embraced him as an artist which lead to him creating projects with them.

“I was always a weirdo to everybody with red hair and painted face. I could not believe when I started doing s**t like Paid Dues and Rock The Bells that Raekwon would come up to me like ‘I love your s**t.’ KRS-1 knew who I was. When we first did “The Anthem” and I ran into Eminem and he knew me and all these motherf**kers knew me, I felt like I was just an odd man out. I didn’t know those ni**as were paying attention all these years. I didn’t know T.I. was in jail and there white boys were playing my s**t. I didn’t know f**king Wayne was listening to “Questions – Gang Related” soundtracks. They tell me all these s**t how they found out. I thought I was just an outcast ni**a that ni**as don’t f**k with because I was on Rock N Roll s**t, here and there. I was on Gangster s**t. I was on Rock ‘N Roll s**t. Hip-Hop s**t. Gospel s**t. Opera s**t. Everything.”

“It’s also a weird thing that when people mention Eminem, they mention my name with it when it comes to lyrics because I just been doing me. I ain’t trying to sound like nobody. We rap fast but we don’t sound anything like Bones, Twista or Eminem. We sound like ourselves.” said Tech N9ne.

Tech N9ne talks collaborating with Eminem

Tech N9ne has recently set down with HipHopDX where the legendary rapper talked about many topics, including his favorite mainstream collaborations. Here is what Tech said:

“I always wanted to work with Eminem, and I did a big one called “Speedom” with him and Krizz Kaliko, finally after 10 years. On the metal side, I’ve done stuff with Corey Taylor of Slipknot. I wanted to work with Slipknot for over a decade and I finally got that done. Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry, I’ve always been a fan and I finally was able to get a song with her, produced by Kon-Artist. Mr. Porter. My friend on a higher-up would make it happen for me. I’ve got a song with Tupac. With all my idols like Ice Cube, Brother J from X Clan. Boyz II Men, I’ve got a weed song with Boyz II Men. Me and Snoop, me and E-40, me and Too Short. I mean It just goes on forever.”

“The thing that blows my mind that from all that, from Kendrick to Jay Rock to Eminem, from everyone I just named, I didn’t have to pay for none of these features. All out of respect and love. They don’t charge me. And then I contributed to Eminem’s “Southpaw” soundtrack.”

Tech N9ne defends Eminem from people calling him ‘culture-vulture’ [Throwback]

Throughout his legendary career, Kansas City Chopper Tech N9ne has collaborated from Kendrick Lamar and Eminem to Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian.

Couple of years ago, Tech took to Instagram to reply to a narrative pitting Eminem as a ‘culture vulture.’ Tech says: “I was raised on music. All types of music. First was gospel. Rap smacked me. Then RnB. Blues. Jazz. Then f**king rock! So I was influenced by music that I was raised on. So when I do songs like “Wither,” “Starting To Turn,” “Uralya,” et cetera, et cetera, I am just doing music that I love and feel. Not only do I do hip-hop shows. I do hard rock shows and festivals and s**t too. I can open up for Kanye and 2 Chainz and the next day do Knotfest n***a. I’ve done it. In that order.

So when you see me at rock shows, and you know my base is in hip-hop, does that make me a culture vulture? No! So why the f**k ya’ll say it about Eminem then? Like he didn’t grow up listening to hip-hop. Ya’ll know he did. Let’s talk about it.
