Legendary rapper Fat Joe may have retired if it was not for Eminem.
In an exclusive interview with Rap-Up magazine, to promote Pepsi’s “Your Wildest Dreams” virtual talent competition, the Bronx legend shared how a call from Detroit legend, Eminem, saved him from forever hanging up the mic.
“I really honestly believed that I had retired one million percent. When the G.O.A.T. called, I felt so honored and I was like ‘yo, f**k it, let me hear some beats!.’ Em said you know Joe, you are one of the last ones left. You are making better music now than ever. You can not retire. You can not leave us.” – says Fat Joe
As he previously said, Fat Joe had the chance to sign the Eminem back in the days but passed several times, calling it the “biggest mistake of my whole rap career.”
On this day, 6 years ago, December 9th, 2014, J. Cole dropped 2014 Forest Hills Drive album and the song “Fire Squad,” which is produced by himself, had come with it.
In the song, J. Cole attempts to restore the balance in Hip Hop as he criticizes white privilege and white appropriation of Hip Hop culture. For example, Macklemore’s The Heist album winning the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album over nominees like Kendrick Lamar’s good kid m.A.A.d city, Drake’s Nothing Was The Same, Kanye West’s Yeezus, and Jay Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail, as well as Iggy Azalea winning other awards at MTV and Billboard.
Cole also name-drops Eminem in the following lines:
Listen… History repeats itself and that’s just how it goes Same way that these rappers always bite each others flows Same thing that my ni**a Elvis did with Rock n Roll Justin Timberlake, Eminem and then Macklemore… While silly ni**as argue over who gon’ snatch the crown Look around, my ni**a, white people have snatched the sound
Cole is saying that artists like Justin Timberlake and Eminem have found success in performing music that is owned by Blacks, outselling their black contemporaries. Eminem has even admitted this way back in 2002 on a song “White America.”

Lots of people, including Kxng Crooked and Trick Trick took these lines as an insult to Eminem. Trick even threatened to keep Cole out of Detroit: “He ain’t poppin’ “S**t S**t” is he??? I will lock the gate on that ni**a. He gon’ build himself an ass whipin’” – Trick Trick commented on Marv Won’s Facebook post, who took Eminem’s side as well.
Few days later, in an interview with Power 105.1 FM’s Angie Martinez, J. Cole explained that this line was not meant as a dig at Eminem:
“People gotta know, Its silly how big of an Eminem fan I am. When I had the song ‘Let Nas Down’ and I had the raps hanging up on my wall, he wasn’t the only one. It was a very select, top notch people that I worshiped and Eminem was literally at the top of that list. My first song was literally an Eminem bite. If you thinking I’m dissing Eminem, than I know you just read the headline, or you’re listening to the song with the headline in mind.” says Cole
Saturday Night Live delivered one of the show’s funniest sketches over the years with a parody of Eminem‘s 2000 hit song “Stan,” featuring Dido and SNL managed to surprise fans with a cameo from the legendary rapper himself along with comedian Pete Davidson.
“Eminem was approached a couple of days in advance by SNL to see if he was available and it worked out for him to do it. It came together really quickly,” a source told to Entertainment Online.
The same magazine spoke with Devon Sawa, an actor who played Stan’s role in Eminem’s original music video, on Monday, while he was promoting his upcoming horror film Hunter Hunter, and he revealed how much he enjoyed the SNL sketch and praised Pete Davidson’s performance in recreating the Stan character into Stu.
“I do not think I have smiled so much in a long time,” says Devon Sawa. “I think Pete Davidson nailed it. Some people do not see some of the things that I saw. He did everything from the pencil blow to certain eyerolls. He really kind of copied me perfectly but also did his own thing and spun it his own way and I am very flattered that I was in a music video that is lasted so long.”
“Someone tweeted me, ‘Are you watching SNL right now?’ and somebody else tweeted that they were doing a ‘Stan’ parody, and my first reaction was, ‘Oh no, are they ripping it apart?’ But it is just funny. It is just they took the song, twisted it, and Pete Davidson is a talented dude.”
“Stan” was released almost two decades ago. And now the comedian Pete Davidson who is close friend of Machine Gun Kelly, parodied the song on “Saturday Night Live” by turning it into a twisted Christmas anthem, “Stu,” and Eminem himself makes the appearance.
With his hair bleached blond hair, Pete Davidson descended down some basement steps to write his letter to Santa Claus. Surrounded by lots of photos of jolly ole Saint Nick, he began, “Dear Santa, I can not believe the year is almost over, it is getting colder, I am a year older but I am still your soldier… the only thing keeping me alive, Dear Santa, please bring me a PS5.”
He continues: “I tried to buy one at Walmart, ran around the shop mall like Paul Blart, tried to find one for sale, but the thing is they are all out, yo, I even went to a Gamestop, but then I was like, ‘Oh wait stop,’ Santa Claus can make one, the man got his own workshop.”
Eminem’s “Stan” features a pop singer Dido singing the chorus, and Kate McKinnon took on that role in “Stu” video. Also Eminem and Sir Elton John famously performed the song the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards. Which is included in the “Stu” clip, as well.
“Stu is waiting for his surprise, to open up a PS5, he just really wants to play, “Assassin’s Creed” on Christmas Day, but he can not buy it himself because he lost his job because he was stealing from his boss, I would be worried, Stu is a scary guy / a scary guy,” McKinnon sang on chorus.
Yang’s verse went: “This year Christmas will be bad, cause Santa s**ks and Stu is sad. He already asked you really nicely and now he is really pissed off. I am just telling you cause I like you a lot. I am a big fan of Santa Claus and I also want a PS5, a PS5.”
The end of “Stu” video, Satna finally responds: “Dear Stu, I think you got the wrong address bro. I’m not Santa Claus, bye bye.”
Eminem made the appearance at the very end of the video, shown on the television screen in Pete Davidson’s basement. Eminem appeared in a holiday sweater, saying he received a PS5 even though he never asked for it: “I guess Shady must have been a good boy this year. Sorry Stu, you f**ed up.”

“Get It,” a Dr. Dre track, produce by Jake One, which has surfaced online today, might be from DETOX album, as a journalist named Chad Kiser said. The album, which was expected to be dropped back 2010 but Dre decided to keep the project in the vault.
The song “Get It” might sound familiar for the fans as it was pulled from 50 Cent’s freestyle “50 For President,” which Fiddy released back in 2008. On the track, Dr. Dre delivers aggressive bars as fans think the lyrics were written by 50 Cent.
Check out first few bars from the song and bump the track below:
“I see ni**as lie to they self, they probably think they lying to me…
You incapable of becoming what you trying to be…
I heard it all, I’ma do this, I’ma do that…
I’ma cop a Phantom and show up with a new six-pack…
I’ma f**k that ni**a b**ch, I’ma get me a chain…
I’ma rap and blow the roof off this Hip Hop game
I’ma slang a couple beats, get rich like you…
Dre ain’t the only ni**a with tracks, I got heat, too…
S**t might happen if you f**kin’ work as much as you talk…
Get some money and you blow it because you trying to floss…
You’re lifestyle don’t support that you about to fall off…”
