Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine to open ‘the coolest high school’ in L.A.

Rap icon Dr. Dre and music industry mogul Jimmy Iovine hated school which made them to force to create a new public high school project in Los Angeles.

“I want to reach the inner-city kid, the younger me. Here’s a place that you can go where there’s something that you can learn that you’re really interested in.” said Dr. Dre

“This is for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place… like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that.” – added Jimmy Iovine

Dr. Dre continues: “That guy that didn’t have an opportunity, that had to scratch and figure out things on his own. That had the curiosity but didn’t have these type of opportunities, really smart kids — we want to touch and give them this open door and these opportunities to be able to show what they can do.”

“No kid wants to go to school. Because it’s boring. You keep flipping the same thing over and over and over again, year after year, with the same curriculum, the same teachers. This is something new and different that might excite the kids and make them want to go to school.”

“I had no idea this is where my life and career was gonna go, and everything that I’ve been doing throughout my career… was gonna lead to this, all those things a stepping stone to get here. Is this what it’s supposed to be? The, you know, the Big Bang? Hopefully it is.”

“This is how you spend money and feel good about it. And that feeling lasts, and most importantly it makes others feel good! Proud to know these gentlemen.” said Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg.

Dr. Dre also talked about his health conditions and more. You can visit LA Times for the full interview here.

50 Cent calls Lloyd Banks ‘lazy’ in his book, Banks responds on a new song “Stranger Things”

Last week, Lloyd Banks dropped his first proper studio album in over a decade, titled The Course of the Inevitable.

In 50 Cent’s book Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, Fiddy writes: “I always felt that if I had maybe done a better job teaching Banks and Yayo how to evolve and change their habits, they each would be in better places right now. While I was out hustling, Banks was more content staying on his porch and watching the world from there.”

“Banks wanted things to come to him, as opposed to going out and getting them for himself. That’s not me trying to assassinate his character—the guy has ‘Lazy Lloyd’ tattooed on his arm. He literally wears his laziness on his sleeve.”

On a song titled “Stranger Things,” from new album, Banks responds to Fifty: “When you’re f**ked up, behavior turns irregular quick, sometimes the pressure overwhelms when you’re the head of the clique/But don’t get ahead of yourself, I ain’t bending for s**t/Nobody sees your vision until you’re successful.”

He continues, “Your favorite’s nowhere near me when I’m dedicated/Always humble, usually disciplined and never hated/Call me quiet, call me lazy, talent never faded/It’s frustrating when your grindin’ ain’t appreciated/Should have been dead in my twenties, s**t, at least I made it/Guess I gotta prove myself again, increase your payment.”

Conway The Machine took his J.I.D and Ludacris assisted song “Scatter Brain” from his latest album La Maquina to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which saw the trio perform the track amid a foggy set-up of old, static-filled TVs and cinder blocks.

“I’m like, ‘Yo, you gonna record more? You been cooking up, what you doing?’ And he actually was like, ‘Nah man, I ain’t, I ain’t,’ and he was saying the way he records is kinda like how I do it. It’s gotta be a vibe. Like, I gotta hear something, they gotta take me there, I gotta be experiencing something.”

“I’m just sitting there soaking up jewels, you know what I’m saying. But that’s what it was like with Hov. I’m a listener, so, I’mma sit back and collect all the jewelry as much as I can.” said Conway
