CBR: Eminem was considered to play Batman in “Batman vs. Superman (2004)”

Comic Book Resources, also known by the initialism CBR, which is a Canadian website dedicated to the coverage of comic book-related news and discussion, has recently published a long article about Batman vs. Superman.

Batman vs. Superman was developed in the early 2000s under the working title Asylum, with Wolfgang Petersen at the helm. The initial plan was to promote the film as Batman and Superman, implying a team-up, but then, a week before release, replace the promotional posters with a new version that scratched out the word “and.” The true title would be revealed as Batman vs. Superman.

In the article, it is mentioned that the biggest rumor at the time had Eminem potentially playing Batman.

In the paragraph we read: “Christian Bale was already being rumored to play Batman, while Jude Law and Josh Hartnett were considered for Superman. Petersen also indicated he would be open to Matt Damon playing either role. The most memorable casting rumor at the time had Eminem potentially playing Batman, following the massive success of 8 Mile movie.”

Some of the quotable lyrics from the song includes the following lines: “You know, this music comes first, that’s just the way I work / Had every obstacle against me but I made it work / In the basement, plate and razor, digiscale, I’m weighin’ work / Sold my neighbors work, sold Tom an eighth for 100 on his way to work / Know a n***a that killed his cousin for snitchin’, he saw the paperwork / Still huggin’ on his momma when she pray in church.”

HBO removes Eminem’s homage t-shirt to LL Cool J from Hall Of Fame performance

HBO has released the trailer for Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2021, featuring Eminem, Dr. Dre, LL Cool J, Jay-Z and many more. The ceremony airs on the network on November 20, 2021.

While performing with LL, Eminem was paying homage to his idol by wearing a t-shirt with “Going Back To Cali” single cover on it.

From HBO’s trailer, it seems the t-shirt with LL’s cover is removed from Eminem’s performance, making it look like Em is performing with white t-shirt.

It was probably against the rules of HBO, which prohibits any kind of promotion without certain type of agreement.

Salma Hayek talks how shocking meeting Eminem at the Oscars was

During The Kelly Clarkson Show, Salma Hayek revealed she coped with her anxiety by singing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” before going on stage. She thought she was losing it herself, though, when she bumped into Eminem backstage at The Oscars before presenting an award. Salma dishes on the encounter, and how she was so excited to see him that she accidentally sprayed Eminem with water.

“I have a song that I put in my head that helps me get through hard times which is Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” You heard that song and you can do anything. I was presenting at the Oscars. This day I was extra nervous cause I hadn’t slept, I was jet lagged, I was feeling shaky. And this one time I was drinking water cause my mouth immediately goes dry. So I’m walking and in my head I was thinking about ‘Lose Yourself’. I’m singing the song in my head. I’m drinking the water and then I go like ‘wait a minute! Have I lost it?!’ I go to the person ‘Is Lose Yourself playing right now?!’ Because I heard it like in a stereo. Eminem was not announced that he was gonna be on the Oscars. As I was ready to come out he was on stage playing Lose Yourself.”

“I’m so nervous cause it’s me and him all of a sudden. It was really scary. I was embarrassed. At this moment I’m more nervous and he comes out exactly on the side that I’m in. I was like ‘I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!’ I spit the water out. I was drunk and I was screaming ‘I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!’ And then I see he is in shock with water all over him. Then I was like ‘I’M SORRY, I’M SORRY!’ They were like ‘Go, go’ and I was like ‘SOMEBODY TAKE THE PICTURE!’ They took a picture and then I left.

The next day I went home and I said ‘Oh my God, my hero thinks I’m a freak.’ Next morning Eminem said he enjoyed the Oscars cause he got to meet Salma Hayek!” said Salma Hayek.
