Michael Phelps workouts to Eminem’s songs

United States’ most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals, former competitive swimmer, Michael Phelps, shared a video of himself working out to Eminem’s “Greatest” track from his 2018 album, Kamikaze and Till I Collapse from The Eminem Show. “One max. One fail. Til next time front squats. Thx keendog.” he wrote in the caption.

Michael Phelps holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals, Olympic gold medals in individual events and Olympic medals in individual events. When Phelps won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games, he broke fellow American swimmer Mark Spitz’s 1972 record of seven first-place finishes at any single Olympic Games.

Phelps is no stranger to Eminem’s music. Back in 2016, then 31-year-old Phelps took home the Lip Sync Battle: All-Stars Live title by crushing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.”

In 2016, during the interview with New York Times, the legendary swimmer revealed that his pre-race playlist includes songs from Eminem, Jeezy and Lil Wayne: “When I’m walking in this time, it was Eminem. I went back to 2003 Eminem, 2004 Eminem. I had some Lil Wayne from ’08. When I was in the ready room getting ready to go out, I was listening to Nero and Skrillex just kinda trying to really get going and really get amped before I would walk out. That helped a lot.”

Few years ago, Slim Shady was named the best artist to work out to, and a separate study found that listening to the legendary Detroit rapper will boost work out performance. “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg was also named Work Out Song Of The Year by Spotify several times. With 28 gold medals to his name, it seems safe to say that Phelps’ playlist is a highly effective one.

According to study done by Spotify couple of years ago, “Till I Collapse” is the top global song of all time for exercising and working out — a distinction its held for three years straight. Eminem’s Academy and Grammy Award-winning “Lose Yourself” also ranks at No. 2.

The figures have been extrapolated from the 43.5 million workout-related playlists used by the streaming giant’s nearly 191 million active monthly users.

Few years back, TIME magazine listed 50 Best Workout Songs and put “Till I Collapse” at number one.

“One of Eminem’s big hits also happens to be a pep talk. “When you feel weak you feel like you want to just give up,” he intones, “but you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength.” Then he blasts off. When the going gets hard, Eminem is here to take you through to the finish line — whatever the workout, whatever the challenge.” – TIME

In the similar news, 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” has also joined the billions club on Spotify. It’s Fiddy’s first ever song to reach this accolade.

Dwayne Johnson, better know “The Rock” to the world, has just posted a video of himself working out in a gym while bumping Eminem’s timeless hit song “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg, from The Eminem Show (2002) album.

Based on the caption, this is a video shoot of the commercial of an energy drink called ZOA that is hitting markets in March, 2022.

The Rock even quoted the lyrics of the chorus of the song. The caption reads: “‘Til the roof comes off, ’til the lights go out. ‘Til my legs give out, I’ma rip this s**t ’til my bones collapse… Was intense, but we had fun shooting our bad a*s Zoa Energy commercial that will air next month. I shot this “walk of hell” multiple times with 120LBS of chains wrapped around my neck, so my legs were f**ked up and on fire at this point but the energy and mana in the gym carried us thru. Can’t wait for you #ZoaWarriors to see our spot! What DRIVES US, is what FUELS YOU.”

We are not 100% sure if “Till I Collapse” is a part of the commercial or The Rock just played it for the work out but the video is still epic! Check it out below!
