Lupe Fiasco hits back at Royce 5’9″ with a new diss track

After Royce 5’9″ dropped “Silence Of The Lambda” earlier today, a warning shot at Lupe Fiasco, Chicago born lyricist hits back at Nickel with a diss track titled “Steve Jobs.”

“I think that n***a scared, he never leave Heaven cause he already dead. We both wear glasses. The difference is I was in school thinking it was cool, you were thinking of skipping classes / listening to your track record I can see you were skipping classics.” raps Lupe.

Some other quotable lines are: “In seven minutes he did it, If he knew how to freestyle he coulda rented Heaven for seven minutes, And been done what needed to be done by the second sentence, All this extra innings may come across as master — but my impression’s apprentice, Your penmanship has the fingerprints of a gimmick
An affection and an intimacy of impressions of that n***as you friends with, I ain’t gotta say it to say it, I can’t even blame you, the n***a’s one of my favorites.”

Royce’s brother Kid Vishis responded Lupe in the comments, saying: “Corny As A Muthaf**ka! Royce 1-0! Take your time and write man.. He makin you look Stupid early.”

Royce 5’9″ tells his thoughts on 42 Dugg, Kash Doll, Boldy James & other Detroit rappers

Detroit has produced renowned figures in hip-hop from Eminem to J Dilla, and the current scene is buzzing with fresh talent. Genius recruited with Royce da 5’9″ to give his take on some of the new rap music coming out of his city and decide which artist deserved his cosign.

“I love 43 Dugg, man. He’s real. He’s bad a** lil ni**a. Just to be honest. He personifies a very common voice in the community even though he stands out like a motherf**ker. He has been himself. He has been as Detroit as f**k. That’s our Queen. I love her.”

Kash Doll is my baby. I love her. She could do no wrong. She is her. Super consistent. Never heard anything that I needed to criticize. I think once Kash Doll starts releasing her albums people will be able to appreciate her lyricism a lot more. She’s on her way. She kills everything she is on. She is lyrically talented.”

“I like this kid BabyTron. He was at my studio recently. I just met him and I felt like I was meeting Lil Baby. I like what he’s doing in terms of sonically, the direction he’s going. I think that’s interesting direction for young Detroiter to go. I’m not really with the whole rapping-off-beat-on-purpose thing. I can’t listen to that but I like the fact that they are trying to do something different.”

Boldy James is one of the best Detroit rappers right now. I know Boldy personally and I know he can do this s**t standing on his hands.”

BabyFace Ray will go pop sooner or later. I f**k with him and his movement real tough. He has always been focused. That’s not Detroit sound. That’s just him.”

Weeze, this little ni**a is crazy man. I love ‘Law N Order’ beat. I don’t even know where the hell they getting these. I love his approach and my cosign is Weeze.”

WATCH: Royce Da 5’9” is back with “I Don’t Age” visual

The project features guest appearances from Vince Staples, G Perico, T.I., Cyhi The Prynce, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Sy Ari Da Kid, Oswin Bejamin, Ashley Sorrell, DJ Premier, KXNG Crooked and more.

Yesterday, the Detroit’s finest dropped off a new visuals from that project for the track titled “I Don’t Age,” a standout cut that acts as a reminder for those who need a reminder of Royce’s lyrical abilities:

“Dollar short from acquirin’ no change, started out with no shame, to ridin’ ‘round in Mulsanne, tolerance high, feel no pain, cotton mouth with thots who got the code names, I remember nodding’ out, too high, just watchin’ ‘Soul Train,’ now I’m yachtin’ out the boat brain, hunnid thousand dollar gold chain/” – raps Royce.

Benzino challenges Eminem & Royce 5’9″ on a boxing ring

In a recent interview with Queenzflip, Benzino challenged Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ for a fight on a boxing ring.

“I would step on the ring with any of these ni**as. I’m in a great shape and I would love to. I’ve started training boxing. I would like to step in on the ring with Royce or Eminem. We could do it like men. We got gloves on. We can f**king shake hands and this will be over. There’s a lot of built up animosity so why not go in the ring and put some gloves on like men. We can get money and put it in some charity for kids who needs help. After that it will be over. Lt’s get in there, punch each other, shake hands hag it out, after that we smoke blunt, drink some tea, have a coke and a smile and then life goes on.”

“If me and Eminem got in the room and Em just heard why I did what I did maybe he would understand. Even when Mike Tyson interviewed Eminem, Mike never brought it [Foolish Pride track] up, nobody ever brings it up. Nobody brings up anything about him and what he did and no matter what we do a blogger or podcaster can’t wait to bring up our s**t. He’s so protected. I’ve never seen nobody more protected. I would fight them both. One Weekend Royce and the next weekend Eminem. Em got trained by famous coach in Detroit. I’m sure he got skills, who knows I might get knocked out.”

Watch: Royce 5’9″ weighs in on Lil Wayne’s racism comments

While speaking to Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Royce Da 5’9″ tried to explain what is systematic racism to Lil Wayne.

“Lil Wayne, I heard come out of his mouth in an interview that racism does not exist. Being famous early for a Black person is crippling. My brother, you are going to jail for the second time. The first time you went to prison, you went for a gun that was not even on you. That is racism, Lil Wayne.” said Royce.

Watch the interview below:

Back in 2016, Lil Wayne sat down with ABC’s “Nightline” where he talked about Black Lives Matter movement.

“I do not know that you put a name on it. It is not a name, it is not ‘whatever, whatever,’ it is somebody got shot by a policeman for a f**ked up reason. I am a young, black, rich motherf**ker. If that do not let you know that America understand. I do not feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothing to do with me. I am connected to this flag. I am a gangbanger ma’am.” said Weezy.

Royce 5’9″ and Benzino exchange some sharp words on Twitter

Since the release of the deluxe edition of Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By: Side B,” Benzino just can’t stop spitting out the hate towards Eminem on Twitter.

After non-stop insults to Slim Shady, Royce Da 5’9″ weighs in, calling him out on Twitter and Instagram.

Royce 5’9″ talks producing for Eminem, Grammy nod, Lil Wayne’s legacy & more

On 9th day of HotNewHipHop Presents: 12 Days Of Christmas, Royce Da 5’9″ talks on his discography, producing for Eminem, learning production from Dr Premier and Denaun Porter, his first Grammy nomination, Lil Wayne’s legacy and much more.

Interviewer: I am loving your production. I remember you showcased a few beats on your Instagram hinting at a little bit of a Bad Meets Evil vibe, I was pretty into that.

Royce 5’9″ : I sent Marshall some stuff here. I always send him stuff. I mean, so my first placement I got was on his album. So that was a dope accomplishment. And I love when I can send him something and he gets excited, man, it makes me excited. It makes me want to work. Sometimes I need that, you know?

Interviewer: Oh, definitely. And it showcases some versatility too. Like the sounds that you were kind of working with on Music To Be Murdered By were pretty different than the ones on Allegory. So it showed that you’re able to adapt to other artists. I mean, obviously, you’re familiar with working with Eminem but did it open a new dynamic? Was it new territory?

Royce 5’9″ : So it is always a new dynamic, because you never know what he is gonna be on. It all depends on what headspace he is in, you know? You can do so many things and like, whatever he chooses to do, he is going to be great at it. He is going to strive to put his best foot forward. The competition level of just what you have to put into it in order to be able to coexist from a competitive perspective is distressing. I mean, that is pretty much what my experience is like whenever I am working with him. I am a new producer, so having to– producing his first single is stressful, because, like, it is on the same album as a Dr. Dre beat.

So it is just a level of stress that is fun. And I am up for that challenge. But it is definitely on a different mind frame. And then like, with those beasts that I gave him for that album, that was my first time working with somebody where when I come around, I have to find out where I fit, and occupy that space, and not go past that. You know? Because that’s his ship. I am just here to help. So I am just here to do my part. Actually, I did not even get summoned here to help. I am just here as a friend. And I am playing him stuff, and he is liking it. So like, now I got to just adapt to that.
