Benzino reacts to Conway The Machine showing support to Eminem

Yesterday, former Shady Records artist, Conway The Machine, has responded Benzino for mentioning him on his latest Eminem diss song, called “Rap Elvis.”

In the song, the former co-owner of The Source magazine raps: “Okay, you found 50, and you put on five Detroit ni–as / Rest in peace to the best one, the rest of them sound iffy / So let’s go down your stable (Okay) / Gunn left your label (Uh huh) / Benny left your label (That’s right) / Con’ (Conway) left your label (Ah) / Royce left your label, Joe Budden left your label (Damn), Ortiz left your label, know Crooked I couldn’t save you (Nah), Yelawolf been out here floppin’ and where the hell Ca$his at though? (Where he at?) / Heard from Obie Trice only twice and not a word from Stat Quo (Not a word) With all them false lines that you pitched them / Shady Records sound like less of a name and more like a description (Stop it).

Conway responded Benzino on Instagram by posting pictures with Eminem. In the caption, the Buffalo rapper wrote: “Peace! I just wanted to speak on a few things. I heard the Benzino joint and I just need to clear this up for everybody. 1) I didn’t LEAVE shady records. Also I never wanted to leave the label. My contracts were simply fulfilled. 2) And most importantly, I F–K WITH EMINEM, ROSENBERG, SHADY RECORDS, 50 CENT and I could never feel any ill feelings towards Em and them ni–as. They gave some 35 year old street ni–as from Buffalo that’s been shot in the head and did jail sentences a chance and a opportunity to make it out the hood and take care of my family. So I’m forever thankful for that. So with that being said, if you’re having feelings or whatever towards bruh, leave me out of it please, cause I’m always gonna ride with big bro.

Under the post, Busta Rhymes replied with “Crown” emojis. Kid Vishis also wrote: “Benzino just not meant to win.” Marv Won, Marv Won, who was also namedropped in the diss and has recently supported Eminem, replied with “Folded Hands” emojis.

Benzino also responded to Conway: “Nothing but love bro. Gotta respect loyalty. I bang your s–t constantly. It’s a battle bro but he shot first. And the Coi line was unnecessary. So I’m gonna finish him. It’s great for hip-hop.

Conway The Machine motivates himself with 50 Cent song to walk on broken leg & 50 Cent responded

Conway The Machine has recently announced that he would have to cancel his upcoming tour shows and postpone it to different dates due to a severe leg injury. Of course, messages of support, sympathy, and well-wishes poured in from fans and industry peers alike.

Conway shared a video of him starting to walk with his broken leg in the hospital and put on a song from another New York legend as its background music.

Furthermore, the track in question was none other than 50 Cent’s album cut “Gotta Make It To Heaven” from his 2003 classic Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. Given the song’s inspirational lyrics and thematic focus, it’s no wonder that it would inspire Conway The Machine to get better every day.

“I gotta make it to Heaven for going through Hell/ I gotta make it to Heaven, I hope I make it to Heaven,” 50 Cent raps over the infectious beat, speaking to Conway’s desire to overcome going through the “hell” of breaking his leg and dislocating his knee.

Check out the video below:

50 Cent responded Conway The Machine on Instagram to motivate him even more. The former G-Unit general posted the screenshot of HipHopDX article and in the caption he wrote: “That boy tuff he will be back on his feet in no time. @whoisconway let’s go, every set back is for the get back.”

Conway The Machine regrets Griselda & Shady Records comments

During the conversation on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, Conway The Machine denied rumors of a rift in the Griselda camp, and wants to clear up comments he made last year regarding his previous contract with Griselda and Shady Records. He also made it clear for the audience that he, Westside Gunn and Benny The Butcher have always been a “family,” despite having their own separate things going on with albums and labels from the start.

The Buffalo, New York native clarified that neither Westside Gunn nor Eminem’s Shady Records cheated him out of money. “It wasn’t nothing there, it just looked like it on the surface. I think fans just ran with certain d–khead s–t I done said and did in interviews. Certain fan theories that just led to the assumption that them boys is fighting and at odds.” said Conway.

The he continues: “Honestly, I operated out of my feelings. My brother ain’t deserve that s–t, man. West ain’t deserve that, none of that s–t that I was doing, saying in them interviews, man. I want to just be very clear: nobody owes me a penny, nobody stole nothing from me. West and them, Shady Records, nobody, all my business was on the up and up.”

“When I was saying in The Breakfast Club interview, how I didn’t read the contract and all that s–t, it wasn’t coming from a place of idiocy. It was out of loyal that I didn’t read that s–t. That’s my brother. I ain’t gotta read nothin.’ I know we good. That’s what that was.” Conway added.

Last year, Conway The Machine did an interview on The Breakfast Club and admitted that he never read the contract he signed with Griselda: “When we did that s–t in the beginning, I really wasn’t all the way — man, I’ma keep it a buck, I ain’t even read that contract, bro. I just signed that s–t and moved on, but unfortunately the contract wasn’t in my favor. I didn’t get no money. Shady gave me some pocket change. I did three contracts with Shady, Interscope and Griselda.”

Conway The Machine shows love to Eminem during Math Hoffa interview

Conway The Machine has recently sat down with Math Hoffa and MECC, CHAMP and GAT where the crew talked about Conway’s “Bang” single which has two versions of Eminem’s verse. The leaked, original version features a shoutout to deceased rapper, Mac Miller, and shots at rappers whom Eminem has beefed with in the past, including Machine Gun Kelly and Ja Rule. One highlight of this version was the diss aimed at Revolt, a music cable network founded and owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Math Hoffa: That verse from Em. He’s going mad at people. He’s brining up a lot of past situation. Did it ever cause friction for you?

Conway The Machine: Naah, not friction. It never caused no friction. I was just happy to get the verse man. There are two versions of his verse and when I heard it…Em is crazy man. Em is different. Stay out of his way!

Math Hoffa: Do you think that’s the direction that he was trying to lead you all?

Conway The Machine: I’m not sure. I don’t know man. I’m not sure if that was his motives.

Then the crew continued discussing The Game’s “The Black Slim Shady” track, which is supposedly a diss towards Eminem. Check the whole thing below:

Shady Records two albums made into Complex’s 50 Best Albums of 2022

Westside Boogie‘s “More Black Superheroes” album has made into Complex’s 50 Best Albums of 2022 list at No. 16.

“Maturation is impossible in an echo chamber. Westside Boogie breaks a cycle of trauma and repeated mistakes on More Black Superheroes, an album dedicated to Black mental health. Beyond repeatedly advocating for more Black people to go to therapy (!!), Compton-born Boogie uses his second studio album to tell the story of how he reached this point, against all odds. In beautiful fashion, Boogie strings together stories about his upbringing and dealings with love to prove that anyone can heal, no matter where they’re from.” Jordan Rose (Complex)

“More Black Superheroes” album is a second release under Eminem’s Shady Records, a follow-up of Boogie’s 2019 project, Everythings For Sale. The 12 tracks-project features Storm Ford on an intro track “Killa Mode,” Mamii on “Nonchalant,” Soulja Boy on “Can’t Even Lie,” Shelley FKA DRAM on “Aight,” Smino and Teezo Touchdown on “Can’t Get Over You,” Kalan.FrFr. and Mamii on “Something Strange,” and Snoop Dogg on “Windows Down.”

Later this year, Boogie also dropped the deluxe version of the album, adding six additional tracks, three out of which was completely new records and three was the audio version of his live performances.

“Super proud of this ..another win because of YALL ..I know y’all tired of me saying I love u but damn ..Now my next s–t betta be number 1 or I’m tripping. thank u Complex.” wrote Boogie on his Instagram.

Former Shady Records artist Conway The Machine also made into the list. His first and only Shady Records release God Don’t Make Mistakes occupied No. 41 spot.

“With critically acclaimed albums like La Maquina and From King to a GOD under his belt, Conway had already reached the upper echelon of rap lyricists before making God Don’t Make Mistakes, and he could have coasted if he wanted to. But he’s not the kind of guy to take it easy. Instead, he pushed himself to go even harder and made the most introspective, well-rounded album of his career. Throughout the project, he peels back the curtain on his personal life, sharing stories about getting shot (“Guilty”) and grappling with the deaths of family members (“Stressed”). He mixes this in with the usual hard-edged grit we’ve come to expect from Griselda (“Bruiser Brody”) and even throws in some streaming-friendly gems (“Scatter Brain”). His Shady Records debut has it all. Eric Skelton (Complex)

The critically acclaimed project was commercial success for Conway. The album debuted at No. 175 on US Billboard 200 charts and reached No. 30 on UK’s Official Chart.

Conway: “Eminem told me my album is classic, that’s more than any check anyone could offer me”

Rory and Mal has recently chatted with Conway The Machine where he talked about Eminem and his deal with Shady Records.

“I will keep it one hundred. I can’t really talk about how Pau and them do business prior to me. I signed my deal in 2017. We fulfilled our deal but I was never in none of the meetings. I never read a paperwork. I never complained anything. I will keep it one thousand bro I ain’t make no bread off Shady – Griselda – Insterscope deal. I just jumped in a driver’s seat and did good with my albums.” said Conway.

Then he continues: “I gotta shout out Paul and Shady. From what I see he exceeded my expectations. Eminem called me ‘yo ni**a that s**t is a classic bro, I’m listening to classic here. I got two songs left but you might have just dropped a hip-hop classic. Eminem told me like that. I don’t need no money, that’s more than any check anybody could sign me cause I hold Em on that high regard.”

“To be even part of this s**t and then just have my name etched in that history book and being a part of this story that means a lot to me.” Conway added.

Conway talks the difference between his relationships with Eminem and Kanye West & Jay Z

Conway The Machine has recently released his long-awaited Shady Records debut album God Don’t Make Mistakes and before that, the Buffalo rapper made an appearance on Kanye West’s Donda album.

During the conversation with Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club, Conway explained the difference between relationships with Eminem and Kanye West and Jay-Z.

“Yeah. Relationship with Eminem was more business than personal. I do not want to say the wrong thing. I am kind of careful, but it was more business, and rightfully so, that is how our relationship started. We did not really have no, I guess, relationship like that. We spoke a couple times on the phone, kicked it with him a couple of times at Coachella and stuff like that, but he a good dude.” said Conway.

“He called me, told my album was a classic, man, and he loves what I am doing. I do not got nothing bad to say about him but you know, Ye and Hov, guys like that, they more personal. That’s nothing saying bad about Em. He held me down. Gave me this opportunity on his platform. He let us know ‘I’m kicking with you all.” Conway added.

The song is about a number of his struggles, ranging from his cousin’s suicide to childhood abuse, the loss of his infant son, addiction, trauma and the Bells Palsy diagnosis that he’s suffered from since being shot in the head — which also almost killed him.

While sharing it on social media, Conway said: “It was tough opening up doors that I have not opened up in a while. This is my story and sharing it all with the world is different for me, but I was happy to do it. I know fans will love it.”

Conway The Machine drops Shady Records debut album “God Don’t Make Mistakes”

Conway The Machine has finally released his much-anticipated Shady Records debut album, titled God Don’t Make Mistakes.

The album includes 12 tracks and features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Jill Scott, and others. It also includes production from Hit-Boy, Daringer, The Alchemist, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League among others.

Ahead of his Shady Records debut, the Buffalo rapper also dropped a surprise mixtape called “Greetings Earthlings,” in which Conway spits some bars over Kanye West, Baby Keem, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Young Thug and others instrumentals.

“Just being able to create and get mentorship from Eminem… that’s one of my favorite artists of all time. So going into it I’m just excited about having Eminem as a big brother. That pretty much sold and sealed the deal for me. Sometimes it can be a lot of pressure when you sign to a major label. It was important to me to still be able to feed my diehard fans and my core audience but still show some sort of growth. The approach was pretty much the same, I just had those pressures in the back of my mind.” told Conway to Zane Lowe in a recent interview on Beats 1.
