Eminem is making his idols really proud. This year alone, Marshall Mathers gets nominated for Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and he is about to perform at Super Bowl Halftime show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
Slim Shady received enormous support for Rock Hall nomination from his peers, including Royce Da 5’9″, Busta Rhymes and Kxng Crooked.
It seems Ice-T feels the same way as the legendary rapper once again showed his appreciation to Eminem on Twitter: “Proud of Eminem. Been down with him from the very start.” – wrote the hip-hop icon in the caption while retweeting a picture of himself and Eminem.
About an hour ago, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige held the Super Bowl Halftime show press conference where the three icons of music industry talked about their plans and surprises during the upcoming show in LA.
“Who else could do this show here in LA, who else could perform the Halftime Show other than these amazing artists that we put together for this thing?” Not only that, I’ve been manifesting the Rams, since the beginning of the season, I’m just thinking about it every day, I’m meditating on it and I’m like: ‘Okay, it would be perfect if we are in the Super Bowl performing and the Rams are in the game as well.'” said Dre during the conference.
A cultural icon in Los Angeles promises surprises during the show but he did not reveal any further detail.
Dre also joked he had dissuaded Snoop Dogg and Eminem from any provocative displays during the performance.
Mary J. Blige is about to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Eminem this weekend, and she is using Slim Shady’s lyrics to explain why she does not care about not being paid for the performance.
It is known that artists aren’t getting paid to play at the Super Bowl but it is worth far more than most people realize, with Mary J. Blige revealing that she’ll be making money from the forthcoming shows for the rest of her life.
“Listen, you gonna be paid for the rest of your life off of this. They don’t have to pay me. But if it was paying it would be a lot of money. But I’m good. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Eminem says that in ‘Lose Yourself,’ this is the opportunity of a lifetime.” she said during the interview on The Cruz Show.
About a week ago, Eminem received Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nomination in the very first year of his eligibility which caused lots of debate on social media. Especially after Eminem hit No.1 in Rock Hall’s fan-voting poll.
Royce Da 5’9″ has just responded to the critique with a beautiful Instagram post: “Oh yea. It’s on… I know for a fact that LL Cool J went out of his way to help get my bro inducted…. His word and opinion is law in my world… Ni**as in them Clubhouse rooms ol say it was the “Powers that Be.” If y’all old ni**as believe that dumb s**t, tell them to make another one… A backpack battle rapper turned Icon slash producer slash movie star …. Never used the culture as a stepping stone to cross over into Rock…. Culture from head to toe… A1 since day one… You’ll never see this again in music… EVER… One of One… None to come…”
Busta Rhymes, Tony Yayo, Kuniva, Statik Selektah and Nasaan have responded to Royce’s message in comments. Check the screenshots below:

Eminem was almost casted in “Mad Max: Fury Road” movie instead Tom Hardy, according to NY Times writer Kyle Buchanan’s book, “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’” now excerpted in Vulture magazine.
Production and development executive Petrina Hull revealed that fans wanted Sam Worthington to take over the role of Mad Max. Heath Ledger was also “in the picture” prior to his death in 2008. But lead storyboard artist Mark Sexton recalled a very different favored leading person: Eminem.
“This is something I do not hear about very much and that George never admits, but I have a very, very, very strong memory of George talking about Eminem for Max.” said Mark.
George Miller the director of the movie continued: “He had done ‘8 Mile,’ and I found that really interesting. I thought, ‘He has got that quality.’ We had done the first ‘Happy Feet’ with the late Brittany Murphy, and she had done ‘8 Mile,’ so I asked her what he was like and would this be something really interesting for him? She had no reservations about saying what a wonderful talent he is.
Mark added: “I got brought back in to redraw a bunch of storyboards in March 2007 and do a bunch of cut-and-pastes to put blond hair on Max.”
Miller continued: “We did get in touch with him, though. That’s as far as it went because we were going to shoot it in Australia at that point, and he simply didn’t want to leave home. I think he had the impression that if he could do it out of his home state, then he’d be up for it.”
Miller also personally met with Rihanna to discuss the role of Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron: “Usually, actors turn up dressed very casually, but boy, Rihanna looked spectacular when she walked in. I’m not sure she was even aware of the content of the movie, so she dressed up as Rihanna, which was the right thing to do.”
Eminem turned down many movies for the same reason. Check the list here.
Eminem has just arrived at SoFi Stadium for rehearsal, at the place where Dr. Dre, Slim Shady, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige will be performing at Super Bowl Halftime show on February 13.

Back in 2020, in an interview with VladTV, Nick Cannon said he wanted to physically harm Eminem at one point when they were beefing in 2009.
Eminem responded to Nick in a verse for Fat Joe’s “Lord Above” song in which he raps: “I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note but that other dude’s whipped, that pu**y got him neutered/Tryna tell him his chicks a nut ‘fore he got his jewels clipped/Almost got my caboose kicked/Fool, quit, you not gon’ do s**t/I let her chop my balls off too before I lost to you, Nick (eunuch).”
Cannon fired back to Eminem with not one but three diss tracks: “The Invitation,” “Pray For Him” and “Canceled: The Invitation” but Eminem remained silent aside from two tweets, debunking Cannon’s fake bars.
In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Nick admitted he did all these to get Slim Shady on his “Wild ‘N Out” show.
“I was a little overzealous. I was a little heavy-handed. I’m going to say a couple of things. First of all, I love Eminem as an artist. Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP — those are some of my favorite albums. But I think there was a lot that went on there. One, the whole goal was to get him to come on Wild N’ Out and acknowledge it. So there was a mission to it because I was like, ‘Yo, that’d be the most amazing show ever.’ It was an invitation to come on the show. But also, a little bit, what was that, 2018 or something like that or whatever, I was playing the game. In 2008, I was really upset about what he had said about my wife at the time.”
“And I was legitimately hot and wanted to fight and all. I was a different guy. So I was mad. And then I think a lot of that started to get stirred up again where the line of, I got so much to say, but I had to know this is entertainment. And there’s a mission here. But at the end of the day, I ain’t going to stand for no disrespect either. So in hindsight, I probably would’ve been a little bit more strategic and let maybe one or two of them linger. But to me, I showed up with a cannon to a knife fight. And he started it [laughs]. I don’t say anything. But I was like, ‘I got time today, Marshall.’” – said Cannon.
On the 13th of February, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige will perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show at SoFi Stadium in California.

“Eminem was nominated to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and that’s good. We need him in there. We need one of the greatest wordsmiths alive to be in Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Period, point-blank. A Tribe Called Quest too. Need them in there. Those are the vibes.” – said Crooked
