Suge Knight Recalls Past Eminem Feuds and Steve Berman’s Intervention

In a series of phone interviews from prison on Cam Capone News, Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight opened up about past tense encounters and underlying tensions between his crew and Detroit legend Eminem. Knight detailed separate incidents that shed light on the volatile relationship between the two camps during the height of Death Row’s influence.

Addressing a infamous confrontation involving Eminem during a flight, Suge Knight recounted how the situation escalated following a severe act of disrespect. He recalled: “Eminem spit on my guys. People think it was a coincidence my guys were in the same plane in Hawaii? They didn’t come down so we catch him on the plane. If someone spit on you, I don’t give a fk if you on a plane or in a church, that’s the worst disrespectful thing to do to somebody.”

In a second account, Knight reflected on an award show incident where his associates had surrounded the rapper before an intervention called off any potential violence. Knight explained the role former Interscope executive Steve Berman played in de-escalating the feud: “Never in life, Eminem never says anything to me. Eminem was at the awards and my guys were on him. They had him. But Steve Berman called me. He’s family to me. I call him Gangster Steve. I called my guys and said ‘leave that boy alone.’ I saved him. Eminem definitely ain’t going to say st to me.”

Together, Suge Knight’s recollections offer a vivid glimpse into the high-stakes friction, industry alliances, and backstage politics that defined hip-hop during one of its most intense eras.
