Skylar Grey has released the music video of “Vampire At The Swimming Pool” from her self-titled fourth solo studio, released back in April 28, 2022.

Slim Shady has shared Skylar Grey’s latest music video on his Instagram story and retweeted Shady Records’ tweet that has “Skylar Grey is killing it” in the caption.

Elsewhere in Shady Records news, Eminem is continuing his 20th anniversary celebration of The Eminem Show with a second merch drop.

The followup to the initial May drop, the new capsule features T-shirts and long-sleeved tees honoring Slim Shady’s classic album. Lyrics to “Without Me” — one of his most iconic hip-hop tracks — and monochromatic images of the rapper with Dr. Dre, The Eminem Show’s tracklist and a special 20th anniversary design are printed on the front and back, commemorating both the album’s legacy and concepts from that era.

In addition, fans can pick up the album’s 20th anniversary expanded edition CD and a collector’s 4LP, fine art prints with rare and previously unseen photos and framed collectibles with an autographed plaque from Eminem.

After teasing fans with new singles, titled “Show Me Where It Hurts” and “Falling Apart” respectively, Skylar Grey is back with her first self-titled album, the first in six years!

To promote her new album, Skylar spoke with stupidDOPE magazine about reestablishing herself, the power of TikTok, being put in the songwriter box, relationship with Eminem and much more.

You’ve been a part of so many projects and so many hit songs over the years. What’s one song or project you worked on that really affected you the most?

I mean, “Love The Way You Lie”. Obviously, the one that really set my career off and also was the beginning of an amazing relationship with Eminem. He continues to work with me and take my hooks and put them on his albums and it’s really awesome.

It’s great that you guys have maintained this relationship after all this time.

I know, I’m so grateful, he’s the best.

It seems like he really trusts you with your vision and you guys just work so well together. On the other hand, do you ever get tired of people asking you about Eminem?

Yeah.

That’s got to be the go to thing people ask you about.

Yeah it is but you know, I’m grateful for everything he’s done for me and being able to to work so closely with him. So it’s to be expected. It’s okay.

Skylar Grey on how ‘Last One Standing’ came together, says she still gets star-struck by Eminem

Skylar Grey talks to Graham “GSM” Matthews and “Doc” Chris Mueller about her successful music career, helping Elliott Taylor record Bryan Danielson’s AEW entrance music, her musical role in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and how it came about, working with Eminem and more.

“The hook of ‘Last One Standing’ I had like five years. When I write a lot of songs sometimes they don’t find a home and they just sit in a Dropbox folder for years. This is one of those situations but it was just a hook and a track and when we find out Sony Pictures wanted to use it for Venom we decided to put some rappers on it. Polo G and Mozzy where first rappers we got on it. And I have a history of working with Eminem. He did the first Venom movie titled song. So I was like it would make sense to have him on this too because it would pay homage to the original so I hit him up and he agreed to get on it so here we are.”

“I used to say ‘oh I do not get star-struck’ but I was just traying to be too cool. I still get star-struck working with Eminem. I listened to him since I was a kid and I can not believe he has been so supportive. We have done over a dozen songs together and whether he knows it or not he is like my mentor but it is just weird and yeah I am still star-struck by that.” – says Skylar Grey.
