Kxng Crooked thinks May 31 is the released date of new Eminem album

Eminem has been taking a very unique approach to the rollout for his much-anticipated upcoming 12th solo studio album. Last month, Marshall announced The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) with a true crime parody video just before the NFL Draft 2024, and then he had an obituary for Slim printed in the Detroit Free Press, all well as in Germany and Italy newspapers. It’s looking like The Death of Slim Shady will be Eminem’s most ambitious album in years, and based on the latest piece of material released, it won’t be long until fans get to hear what it sounds like.

Few days ago, Eminem posted a screenshot video of a text exchange on his social media accounts. The contact info at the top reads: “All contacts,” and the message that gets sent out reads: “And for my last trick!” This video furthers the notion that the upcoming album will be the end of the line for Slim Shady as a character. The biggest revelation, though, is the time in which the text message is sent. The message says Friday, May 31 at 12:00 AM, which means fans can expect something major to happen on this date. It’s not made clear what the “something” will be. Under the comment section on Instagram, Ez Mil and Nasaan both commented the magic wand emojis. Slim Shady also changed his profile pictures on social media to a ‘rabbit’, which is probably related to his 8 Mile character.

Yesterday, one of the fans on X (formerly Twitter) asked Kxng Crooked what is Eminem dropping on may 31st, an album, the tracklist or a single, on which Crooked replied with a Jimmy McGill GIF with the caption: “If he’s doing all of this for a single.. better call Paul.” Jimmy McGill is a character in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” TV series. Crook cryptically references an iconic phrase “Better Call Saul” but replaced Saul with Paul, which probably refers to Paul Rosenberg. Check out the tweet below:

It will probably be a new single. Some fans took to the comment section to theorize that Em is dropping the entire album on May 31, but the video teaser announcing The Death of Slim Shady stated that it will drop in the summer. Seeing as summer doesn’t officially start until late June, it’s safe to state that Eminem will be sitting on the album for a bit longer. The Detroit legend first teased the idea of new music back in January. He told Shade 45 listeners that he was “working on a little something,” and also teased a potential collaboration with 50 Cent.

“I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad. We need another 50 album, like, really bad. 50’s on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour. I told him whatever the f–k he needs from me, I’m here. Joint album? That s–t would be crazy, though, an album with me and him.” said Eminem.

Kxng Crooked sparks hope for new Eminem album

Eminem has been quiet for more than 4 years now. We are eagerly waiting for every Friday but when the clock hits 00:00 and we check the Spotify or Eminem’s social media accounts, there is nothing else but the dead silence. Oh, we sometimes see a new merch though…We put out our heads like an ostrich from a sand every time we see an Eminem-related rustle on social media and this article is a perfect example for it.

Kxng Crooked has recently interacted with fans on X (formerly Twitter). One of the users asked the West Coast rapper: “@CrookedIntriago do you know if eminems dropping soon seems you may know something.” On which, Crooked replied: “Of course I know something.” Someone responded: “Interesting. Crook ain’t type to falsely get us hyped up by a comment like that. Something happening soon?” Another said: “You being sarcastic?” On that Crook replied: “Uh oh” with eyes open wide emojis.

Later, Kxng Crooked recorded an audio specifically for the Stans, saying: “I know what y’all Stans be up to man. Just letting y’all know. Y’all come over here and not even say ‘what’s up.’ You don’t even say ‘hey, how you doing Crook?’ Y’all be like, ‘WHEN IS EM DROPPING?! Is he retired?’ [Laughs]. It’s all good. I be tripping off that s–t. Em is my guy and I’m happy that he has you guys in his corner. And that’s the real. But I got some pet Meerkats and Lemurs and they dying and y’all be like ‘DAMN, THAT’S F–KED UP, WHEN IS EM DROPPING?’ [Laughs].

Kxng Crooked defends Eminem against Dr. Umar comments

Dr. Umar has recently said that Eminem can’t be considered one of the greatest rappers of all time because of his skin color. A list of rappers came out and defended Eminem, including Kxng Crooked, who talked about the topic on his latest episode of CC WEEKLY.

“Recently I heard Dr. Umar was doing an interview and he said something like putting Eminem on the top of the MC list is White Supremacy. Dr. Umar was almost right when he paired Eminem with white supremacy because Eminem is white and he’s a supreme MC. Almost like White Supremacy but really nothing like White Supremacy. Just like I’m black and I’m supreme MC. Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim Allah, Redman, Treach, KRS-1, The DOC, Ice Cube, Scarface, Twista, Big Boi and André 3000, J. Cole, Kendrick, the list goes on, Horseshoe GANG, Joell Ortiz.” said Knxg Crooked.

Then he continued: “There are certain people in this industry, certain artists who have far surpassed Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘10,000 Hours’ of practice, of study. And they have gone to different levels in this artform called lyricism and Eminem is one of them. Don’t matter what you say. Don’t matter what I say. It just is what it is. He has mastered the craft as he still studies it because there’s levels of mastery. And it ain’t like Marshall just be on social media, doing hella interviews, just outside all the time saying ‘yo, I’m the greatest of all time and I’m white.’ When have you ever heard Em saying that? In an interview or make a post like that or go live and say it. But people are bringing his name up as if he’s super active when it comes to pushing that narrative. He’s not. He’s chilling. He’s staying out the way. All I ever known him to do is go in the lab be mad scientist in there. I never really known him to be in interviews talking all about how he’s the greatest of all time. I never even heard him say that. When he got on my interview on Crook’s Corner, what did he say? He said ‘I never said I was king of hip-hop.”

“We certainly not going to judge every single lyric that somebody says in the song because we all talk s–t in songs. That’s what MCs do. It’s a competitive sport. You gotta let next know that you iller. Sometimes it ain’t all about that. Sometimes it’s all about songwriting and storytelling too.” Kxng Crooked added.

Royce 5’9″, Denaun Porter, Swifty McVay, Kxng Crooked respond to Dr. Umar comments about Eminem

During one of the recent episodes of Joe Budden podcast, a staunch Pan-Africanist, motivational speaker, psychologist, activist and social media personality Dr. Umar said Eminem can’t be considered one of the greatest rappers of all time because he’s white. Aside from MC Shan and DJ Akademiks, Royce 5’9″, Denaun Porter, Swifty McVay of D12 and Kxng Crooked have also came out in Eminem’s defense.

“So, never heard or seen my brother say he was anything but grateful and happy to be a part of the culture. He’s not even on that. He just happens to write relentlessly, gives 100 percent effort relentlessly and always respectfully to the culture recklessly s–t on any other artist that came before him. You never heard nobody say he did sh–t to them only what he didn’t do for them. And while he might not have built an actual school, the dude never wants a camera around for anything he does charity wise…because he’s not about that, he ain’t ever been nothing but stand up donating and helping with respect to the persons situations.” said Denaun Porter under the comments section on one of the posts on Instagram.

Then he continued: “In my opinion, people choose to hate a motherf–ker these days because he doesn’t donate to the cause you deem worthy. A man counting your pocket doesn’t mean he know who you have helped. I respect Dr. Umar for what he tries to accomplish but this is just an opinion. It doesn’t change the character or is anywhere near altering to how homie moves with the highest respect for and in the culture. He knows he ain’t black. He also doesn’t act like it or expect s–t. He does try every time his best, he just humbly is one of the dopest motherf–kers that ever touched a pen and that makes some of y’all uncomfortable. Respectfully and gracefully I don’t give a f–k what a ni–a say about my brother. He will always be one of the GOATs.”

Denaun Porter’s response to Dr. Umar’s Eminem comments.

Royce 5’9″ also defended Eminem and said: “Dr. Umar said it was nothing personal. Bro is top 5 dead or alive and been that for decades via general consensus. No one man’s opinion could ever change that so let the man have his opinion lol. Nothing to be upset about. I get what he is trying to say. He feels hip-hop originated in Africa, therefore non-African could never be at the pinnacle. It originated in Queens, New York and it is not a color code but there is a few cultural characteristics that are unique to just black people. Nobody could ever crip a Cali ni–a but the whole world is slanging and banging.”

He then continued: “This is an art form and a business but most important, a skillset. Bro came up with his own way to do it on the highest level and pushed every boundary, checked every box. He cold dog. Now on the flip side, Umar is just looking at rap how high level white executives look. We gotta shock the world to be come a billionaires and we still might end up broke and in jail if we piss of the wrong gate keeper.”

Royce 5’9″s response to Dr. Umar’s Eminem comments.

D12’s Swifty McVay also came out in Eminem’s defense and said: “Some fans think he’s the GOAT, some fans don’t. Just like with any other legendary lyrical architect. But why it gotta turn into a race thing though?! S–ts stupid as f–k. He was the wrong person to ask about Em. SMH.”

Swifty McVay’s response to Dr. Umar’s Eminem comments.

Kxng Crooked also talked about it during his Crook’s Corner podcast which is not out yet but he gave us a snippet of the video clip where Long Beach rapper says: “Dr. Umar was almost right, when he paired Eminem with white supremacy. Because, Eminem is white and he’s a supreme emcee. He’s white! And he’s supreme MC! Almost like white supremacy but really nothing like white supremacy.”

Kxng Crooked suggests what Eminem & Jay-Z should do together to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop

The 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop is the most epic year in Hip Hop history!

Celebrations are being held all around the world to uplift and honor every aspect of Hip Hop culture. From concerts and tours to new albums, mixtapes, singles, rap battles, competitions and exhibitions, all of your favorite DJs, MCs, Breakdancers, Beatboxers, Graffiti artists and more show up and show out to make this golden anniversary of Hip Hop culture the most extraordinary year yet.

from the celebration and rightfully so. No new music, no tours, no award shows from the two hip-hop icons so far in 2023.

“It’s fascinating to watch the 50th anniversary of hip-hop play out this year and Eminem and Jay Z distance themselves from any type of celebration or live performance celebrating the culture. Watching they supporters justify they actions is also fascinating.” said one of the users on Twitter.

On which someone replied: “It’s really not our business what they do. Neither have released an album, they both get criticized constantly on this app and in the media when they do release music .. they both are so large in life that they could overshadow the celebration and concerts.”

From there, Kxng Crooked jumped into the conversation: “I welcome the overshadowing.. Show the world how big our beloved culture is! They have 3 months left to pop out.”

Then he added another tweet: “All they have to do is walk out and perform Renegade and go home.” You can check the tweets in the video below:

Kxng Crooked reacts to Melle Mel’s Eminem diss

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s Melle Mel is being trashed on social media for his newly-released Eminem diss track, a response to Slim Shady’s “Realest” jab.

Premiered on YouTube on yesterday, the video is simply titled “Melle Mel’s Response to Eminem’s Latest Diss” and finds the rap pioneer mentioning The Game and Pee-Wee Herman as he hits back at the Detroit legend.

“The Top 5 is cap/ You the piss that’s on the floor in the elevator of rap/ Why you ducking on The Game when you shit on my name?/ Why they put Pee-Wee Herman in the hall of fame?” he raps.

“I would give you a pound, but I’d break your hand/ I got a lawyer so white, he will take your land/ Yo, check your man, come and look at your friend/ ‘Cause I think that Eminem is popping pills again!” Melle Mel raps in another bar.

Responses to the track were not very kind to Melle Mel, with some saying that even Nick Cannon’s unimaginative attempts at dissing Slim Shady were better.

“I never thought it was possible to make a worse diss than Nick Cannon’s disses to Em. Today, I was proven wrong. Well done,” one person wrote, while another added: “Between YOU, THE GAME and NICK , I think you might beat them in having the worst disstrack EM has ever gotten.”

A third person commented: “Cannot believe one of the originators of hiphop released this and stated going against Eminem was going to be ‘the easiest thing he’d ever do’…. Delete this Melvin, you’ve embarrassed yourself massively here.”

Kxng Crooked has also reacted to the diss-track as he tweeted “Not feeling it.” Someone commented “12345678 tho. Mel can count good” on which Crooked replied: “Hate that part.”

Kxng Crooked reacts to Eminem’s Melle Mel diss

It appears Eminem has not forgotten about the comments the legendary emcee Melle Mel made about him earlier this year, addressing them in a firestorm of deadly bars on Ez Mil‘s new song, called “Realest.”

Few months ago, during an interview on The Art Of Dialogue, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five rapper responded to Billboard magazine’s list of Top 50 Greatest Rappers Of All Time which placed Eminem at number 4 by saying that the Detroit legend is considered in top 5 only because of his skin colors: BEING WHITE.

In the song “Realest,” Eminem responded with the bars that may be a cause of the start of one of the biggest feuds in hip-hop history. “Shout to the Furious Five and Grandmaster Flash but boy (What up doe) / There’s someone who really is furious stay out his path his wrath avoid / And I’ll be the last to toy with a juice head whose brain is like half destroyed / Like a meteor hit it well there went Melle Mel we lost his a– to roids (Damn).” Em raps.

Kxng Crooked looks confident that Melle Mel is in the booth right now, recording the response to Eminem: “I know Melle in the booth right now.. Ain’t no way he doesn’t respond.. What if he drops it on Hip Hop’s birthday 8/11?” He tweeted.

One of the fans responded: “Melle don’t want that smoke.” On which Crooked replied: “He made The Message man I think he wants all of it! One of the original emcees..”

Detroit rapper Lazarus asked: “What’s your take on that battle bro?” On that, Kxng responded: “I could be wrong but I ultimately think this is what Melle wanted and now the ball is in his court. If he drops a great record it would be dope for the culture in terms of pioneers continuing to shine in this day and age.”

Another fan commented: “Yes, but it’s never been this real, rapper’s who have fought Em on tracks have been discredited as MCs to a point where they have changed genres. Going against Em hasn’t worked for anyone so its not just career suicide but it’s an all out fight for your credibility as a musician.” On that, the West Coast legend replied: “There’s nothing Em can do to erase Melle Mel from the Hip Hop history books. Let’s keep things in perspective”

Lastly, Kxng Crooked tweeted: “If there was a such thing as Hip Hop Jeopardy and the category was Founders & Pioneers.. Em would get every answer right.. He luvs this s–t immensely.. I don’t think that was an easy recording session.”

Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, The D.O.C. & Kxng Crooked react to Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s upcoming album

So, Snoop Dogg is preparing new album with Dr. Dre this summer.

Earlier this year, the iconic Long Beach rapper took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of himself and Dre, while confirming that new material from them will be released in the coming months. “Dynamic. Duo, Music comin summer 23.” he wrote in the caption.

The teaser came just few months after Snoop Dogg announced that he and Dr. Dre are working on a new album together called The Missionary, which will serve as the spiritual successor to his debut album Doggystyle.

At that time, in an interview, Snoop Dogg said: “I’ma tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album And it will be done in November. It’s entirely produced by Dr. Dre.”

In a recent interview with AllHipHop magazine, Grammy Award-winning producer who goes by the name of Smitty said: “It’s gonna be great music. What people will not expect is the level of execution that Snoop is committed to. Snoop Dogg called me and he said ‘Man, this is Snoop. I have not seen Dre this excited since The Chronic album. He’s really excited about what we’re doing.’”

Yesterday, Snoop teased fans again with a new Instagram post from the studio session with Dr. Dre. “Coming soon” – he wrote in the caption. In the comment section, Kurupt wrote: “#RIGHT”, Busta Rhymes also commented exploding head emojis. The D.O.C. replied “Let’s go.” And King Crooked said: “What I heard was pretty crazy.”

Check out all the details in the video below and tell us how much you are excited for Snoop Dogg’s new album in the comment sections of our social media accounts.

Kxng Crooked responds Eminem retirement speculations

Although Eminem has made it clear that he’s always working and Mr. Porter has claimed that they are not even close to done, lots of fans on social media are speculating about Slim Shady’s retirement and rightfully so: More than 1200 days have passed since Eminem released a full body of work.

“Do you know if Eminem is retired?” One of the fans on Twitter asked Kxng Crooked on which he replied: “I don’t know if that’s a possibility.” One of the fans responded: “Thank you Crook. we’re losing hope out here.” Another commented: “He told LL he ain’t ever stopping until he loses it. I don’t think that happened.” Other said: “Em fans are weird let the dude get his rest, he’s literally said on his last album and Paul has said since the curtain call 2 eminem isn’t done putting out music.”

One of the users expressed his desire to see another collaboration between Detroit icon and West Coast legend: “Really hope you’re on his next s–t bro, you two on a track is definitely one of my favorite things.”

Kxng Crooked and Eminem have previously jumped on the track in several occasions: “I Will,” also featuring Royce 5’9″ and Joell Ortiz, “Welcome To Planet X,” featuring The Observer and Slaughterhouse tracks “Psychopath Killer,” featuring Yelawolf, “Asylum,” “Our House,” featuring Skylar Grey, “Throw That,” “2.0 Boys,” featuring Yelawolf, “Loud Noises” and “Session One.”

Kxng Crooked credits Eminem for being mainstream but still lyrical

West Coast’s finest Kxng Crooked has recently interacted with fans on Twitter and gave Eminem his flowers for being mainstream but still lyrical monster.

“I like mainstream rappers who are still a high level threat on the microphone.. Like when Kobe won rings and still pulled up to Rucker Park ready for whatever..” he tweeted couple of hours ago.

One of the fans replied: “One of the many reasons I love Eminem is his ability to hit the mainstream but also finds ways to be underground and reach a wide audience.”

On which, Crooked responded back: “You work your way up to a position where you have Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and millions of dollars behind you.. It’s very easy to lose your fangs as an emcee in that scenario.. Marshall never lost his fangs.. He’s still a lyrical threat.”

Kxng Crooked and Slim Shady have previously joined forces on few occasions. Most recently the two jumped on a track “I Will” from Music To Be Murdered By album, which also features the rest of the Slaughterhouse emcees, Royce 5’9″ and Joell Ortiz, aside from Joe Budden for an obvious reason.

Album Review: Kxng Crooked & Joell Ortiz – “JFKLAX”

Artists: H.A.R.D. (KXNG Crooked & Joell Ortiz)
Label: Hitmaker Music Group
Release date: February 24, 2023
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✰ (8.9/10)

My Ears perk up every time I catch wind of KXNG Crooked and Joell Ortiz doing another collaboration album. Ever since they debuted themselves as the duo known simply as “H.A.R.D.” they just haven’t missed. I’m not sure if the term exists, but I’m officially going to refer to these guys as a super-duo for now on. This is what happens when two members of a spitter-heavy supergroup leave but decide to keep their halves of the quartet alive.

H.A.R.D. first started making waves under this new brand alias a couple of years ago with their self-titled debut EP. They would come to release several projects that sparked some conversations within the nitty-gritty communities of hip-hop bar heads, like myself. Most notably, they recently decided to give us one last look inside the Slaughterhouse they helped build before burning it down forever with their “The Rise & Fall Of Slaughterhouse” album. As the 1-year anniversary of their official duo debut album approaches this month, they’re making a significant return with this snack-size “JFKLAX” EP.

  1. Take Time

Joell starts off with an extremely confident, self-aware verse over a sonically celebratory instrumental. Joell is letting us know that the super-duo is back for a legendary return after a 1-year break. Crooked really knows how to start a verse: “Like Crows Feet Around The Eyes, Them Lines Take Time, When They Come From A Lot Of Smiling, I Won’t Erase Mine”. His whole contribution to this track is one long string of some of the hardest bars on this EP. He delivers his verse with a flow that implies he knows how crazy he went on this track. I love it!

  1. Dodgers

This track is overall a much slower tempo than the opener. It’s more of a retrospective love letter to the Duo’s West Coast home and ties to the Eastside. I like the emotion this groovy, sort of funkadelic production brings to the track. It’s such a skill within itself for Crooked to somehow effortlessly speed his flow up and down without it becoming distracting. It’s as if he just flips a switch on or off.

  1. Foe Or Friend

I’m a sucker for horns, keys, and drums. This track follows the recipe for a banger because it has all three. It’s easily my favorite beat on the EP. You’ll likely enjoy the production if you’re a Jay-Z fan, especially if you recognize those very familiar hi-hat sounds. There’s also a pretty obvious sample of “Hey, What’s That You Say.” Crooked’s relentless, unstoppable flow that chainsaws through this production is why I’m calling this track the best of the five on the EP.

  1. Stay Dangerous (Featuring Sly Paper)

A woman opens this track with spoken word dialogue that sets the stage for a track about living through poverty in a dangerous city. You could write this track off as cliche about surviving in a rough city, but you shouldn’t! The intelligent rhymes are reason enough to enjoy the track, but the passion from both artists is what keeps it fresh to the listeners’ ears. Joell, in particular, does a great job painting a clear picture with descriptive lyrical imagery. Sly Paper cleans up shop and ties the track off at the end with a soulful, cinematic bridge/outro that sounds like it belongs in a dramatic crime movie.

  1. Blue Magic

The EP closes similarly to how it opens. We’re given one more confident duet to close out the project, brought to you by freshly sharpened pens. The main difference between this and the opener is that this track rightfully gives off a sense of winding down. For such a short project, they ran hot while it lasted. There’s a very touching feeling of mutual respect between Joell and Crooked with this EP  two heavyweights seeing eye to eye. You can’t fake the level of sincerity on this track.

Final Thoughts

I have to salute this duo for how hard they’ve been working over these last few years. It’s incredibly rare to get this many consistently high-quality projects within such a short time span. You have to respect this kind of grind. I know this is just a quick EP, but I feel like I’ve just been through a full-length album. It’s almost unfathomable how dense and deep every inch of technical lyricism gets with these two. I could have taken the time to break down every bar on the project, but the review would end up looking like a damn novel.

50 Cent, Kxng Crooked & Page Kennedy defend Eminem against Melle Mel comments

In a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue, legendary rapper Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five questioned Eminem’s place in top 5 greatest rappers of all time list. “Obviously, he is a capable rapper. He got a rhyme style. But he is white! He is white! If Eminem was just another ni–a like the rest of us, would he be top 5 on that list when there are at least 35 ni–as that can rhymes just as good as him?! If he was a black rapper he would not even make a list.”

50 Cent was quick to come out in defense of Eminem. In his latest Instagram post, Fiddy shared Melle Mel’s picture and in the caption, he wrote: “There was more money selling dope than being in Hip Hop when Melly Mel was popping, the culture has grown so much. I am not sure if it would be what it is today with out artist like Eminem. S–t I am not sure I would be who I am with out him but you know it is competitive so ni–as gonna hate. LOL f–k outta here ! We sucker free.”

Kxng Crooked also defended Eminem in the 5 minutes video clip the California rapper recorded specially for the topic: “That was the funniest clip I’ve seen all day. I could not stop laughing for 5 minutes straight because his posture is demeanor like he was serious. I was not offended by what he said because it’s his opinion but then I saw in my mind him and Marshall doing a battle and I could not stop laughing.”

Crooked continues: “I was not shocked what Melle Mel said. I was not surprised but let’s jump to educational part real quick. There is a privilege that comes with being white in the American Music Industry. That’s obvious. It’s just a fact. Now, let’s change Eminem into a black rapper real quick. He’s a black rapper. He has Jimmy Iovine, Paul Rosenberg, Dr. Dre behind him, how far do you think he’ll get with that kind of weaponry behind his music? I think we all can agree that he’ll get pretty far right? Now lets take color all the way out of the equation. If somebody decided to create a round table and only the most brilliant lyricists in the history of hip-hop could sit I’d be sitting at that table like ‘what’s happening Marshall?’ Eminem will be sitting at that table! So, as one of the most brilliant hip-hop writers in the history of the culture what do you think Eminem deserves? Every f–king thing he has cause he is brilliant.

“I’m not saying Rakim, KRS, Kool G, Kane, DOC, Pharoahe Monch, Kurupt etc don’t deserve it. They deserved the world too. All genius level lyricists deserve whatever accolades they  receive for the hard work and dedication to the craft and to the culture that they put in and that does not exclude Eminem.” – Crooked I added.

Detroit rapper and actor Page Kennedy also came out in defense of Eminem on Twitter: “Melle Mel sound like a hater saying Eminem only top 5 cause he white. Ni–a you know how many white rappers there have been. Have any of them ever been in top anything? No stfu. If Melle was white do he think he would be in the top? Top-less is about it.”
