Has Ed Sheeran just accidently confirmed another song with Eminem?!

Ed Sheeran has recently sat down with Rohit Sharma and Gaurav Kapur for an interview where at the end of their 40 minutes conversation they talked about Eminem. When Interviewer asked Sheeran to name his favorite artists that he worked with, here is what he replied:

I really enjoyed collaborating with Beyoncé. I just didn’t expect her to say yes. And Eminem… Eminem is someone that I’ve now worked with four times. He was my hero as a kid. I used to have a stutter and I cured my stutter by listening to Eminem music. I had an opportunity to meet him in 2013. I’ve had some success but not like a lot of success and I had an opportunity to meet him and I let him walk by and I said I don’t wanna meet him because I want him to meet me. I want that to be a moment. And then that came to fruition and now we are actually close. So, Eminem and Beyoncé are two of my favorites to work with.

Ed Sheeran and Eminem have previously collaborated on three occasions: 1. “River” 2. “Remember The Name” which also features 50 Cent and 3. “Those Kinda Nights”. So, Sheeran either: 1. messed up the counting 2. has another collaboration on the way with Eminem 3. has previously recorded unreleased track with Eminem.

Out of their three collaborations, “River” is most successful. It reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom, making it Eminem’s 9th No. 1 there and Sheeran’s 5th. It also reached No. 1 in Austria, Norway, Scotland and Sweden as well as the top 10 in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland, and the top 20 in Belgium and the United States. The song is triple platinum in Australia and double platinum in Denmark, Sweden and United Kingdom. The song is also eligible for 3x platinum in the United States. The song also has more than 820 million streams on Spotify.

50 Cent brings out Ed Sheeran at his Final Lap Tour in London

Tuesday night (November 21) at 50 Cent ‘s “Final Lap” event at London’s O2 Arena, fans were treated to a very special surprise guest. During his performance a giant box on stage flashed the message “there’s a monster in this box,” as the familiar strains of Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” filled the arena and Fif said “turn it up even more!”

Ed then popped out from under the box — without his signature acoustic guitar — and began singing his 2017 smash while dapping up 50 who added some ad libs and joined the clearly excited Sheeran on the chorus. Sheeran chronicled the special moment on his Instagram Story, writing, “50 Cent has invited me to the O2 to sing ‘Shape of You,’” along with footage of himself walking around beforehand backstage singing to 50’s “21 Questions.”

Though they were in all-white on stage, 50 posted some backstage images of the men in all black yukking it up with the message, “My man came through for me tonight, BOOM, LONDON went crazy! It don’t get bigger than this.”

Sheeran also previewed his walk-out in an Instagram Live video shared by 50, in which the singer tells the camera, “50 Cent has invited me to the O2 to sing ‘Shape of You,’ and I’m going to walk on stage and go, ‘Who likes ‘In Da Club?… Here’s ‘Shape of You.’” Ed then sings a bit of 50’s “21 Questions” before a stagehand loads him into the lift that positions him inside the box as he yells “In Da Club!”

Afterwards, a hyped Sheeran can’t stop yelling “In Da Club!” as he leaves the stage and retreats to a sky box to watch the show and rap along to “Many Men” and, of course “In Da Club.”

Ed Sheeran talks about Eminem with Nardwuar

In a new interview with Nardwuar, Ed Sheeran shared what he had to go through to get Eminem to take the stage with him at Detroit’s Ford Field back in July, where he surprised his hometown audience by performing hits like “Lose Yourself” and “Stan” with the British superstar.

Nardwuar: When you are on stage, do you ever get seasick on stage?

Ed Sheeran: No but when I played with Eminem, I tried to get him to get on the revolve, I think it was a bit too much. I’ve been playing on it like 100 shows so I’m sort of used to it but it’s definitely different for people.

Nardwuar: How hard is it to get Eminem on stage?

Ed Sheeran: “It was pretty difficult. I went over to play the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with him… I had basically flown off on a day off because I was shooting 14 music videos, back to back, and I had one day off in between. That day off was the day of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So I got on a plane that night, flew, played, got on a plane that night and then flew back. And he found out that I’ve done that so he was like, ‘Anything you ever need,’ and I just said, then and there, ‘I’m coming to Detroit,’ so let’s do that.”

Nardwuar: Were you worried that he wouldn’t show up? “I was there in Detroit for a couple of days as well. He let me use his studio to record some stuff, so I sort of knew it was going to happen. I gave him the out. Whenever I perform with people, I always say, ‘You can cancel last minute if you want,’ so there’s never any pressure.”

Ed Sheeran raps Eminem’s “Criminal,” talks about The Marshall Mathers LP album

Ed Sheeran has recently sat down with Arte TRACKS where he talked about his favorite record of all time: Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP.”

“The Marshall Mathers LP is one of my favorite records, if not my favorite record. This is what helped cure my stutter. I’ll get it to the actual verse that cured my stutter: “Windows tinted on my ride when I drive in it / So when I rob a bank, run out and just dive in it / So I’ll be disguised in it / And if anybody identifies the guy in it / I’ll hide for five minutes / Come back, shoot the eyewitness / Fire at the private eye hired to pry in my business…” rapped Ed Sheean.

Then he continued: “So that is what cured my stutter, learning that rap there, just because its so wordy. It was actually my uncle, Jim, I call him Jim Shady and he bought me the cassette of this record and my dad supported it cause my uncle said ‘this guy is the new Bob Dylan.’ I don’t think my dad actually listened to what was on the record. And I went over and played the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame recently with Eminem where we sang Stan.”

“And my dad recently listened to this record, he’d never heard it before and he listened to it recently and he was like…One of the first lines is ‘oh, now he’s raping his own mother, Abusing a w-ore, snorting coke, and we gave him the Rolling Stone cover?’ and my dad was like ‘oh, you were listening to this when you were nine?!'” he added.

Ed Sheeran details how Eminem’s cured his stutter, talks meeting him in studio

Ed Sheeran has recently sat down on The Howard Stern Show where je opened up about Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” and how it cured him from stuttering. He also talked about first time meeting Slim Shady in the studio and how him and Eminem relate to each other.

“When I was 9, I was going though all sorts of speech therapy and my uncle bought me The Marshall Mathers LP and he just said to my dad ‘this guy is the next Bob Dylan. You gotta let him listen.’ My dad didn’t really clock it, he was just like ‘okay’.” Ed Sheeran said.

Then he continues: “By learning that record and rapping it back to back to back it cured my stutter and I stopped ttttt-talking like that. Years later, I’ve made songs with Eminem and we have got to know each other quite well and he asked me to play Stan with him at Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.”

“I remember getting a call to do it and I was shooting 14 music videos back to back. I got the call like ‘do you want to go and do Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame with me?’ And it was my day off from shooting the music videos, so I was like ‘I can’t say no.’ So, I got to plane straight after the music video shoot, flew to do Rock Hall, and same night flew back and it was really worth it.”

“Eminem is quite reclusive. He does not see and met many people. The first time I met him, I was super nervous before I got invited to the studio in Detroit. And I was sitting there and be like ‘Is he gonna be standoffish’ and as soon as he walked in we just start talking about Marvel comics and stuff like that and I was like ‘okay we are cool.'”

“I’ve known him since 2017. Six years. We have done three songs together and I played with him twice on stage. He’s another person that I really relate to. He is also still live in his hometown. He has got his own ecosystem around him. All his people and family live there. So I kind of relate from that point of view. I think meeting people like him and talking to him on the level makes you feel less weird. I sometimes feel like a bit of a zoo animal or an alien to sort of whatever happens in my life there is always something that goes around and you speak to him and it’s kind of same thing.” Ed Sheeran added.
