Eminem’s “Curtain Call: The Hits” makes Billboard history

Eminem‘s greatest hits album “Curtain Call: The Hits,” that was released in 2005, has spent 600 weeks on United State’s Billboard 200 charts, making it the only album by a solo artist and first hip-hop album in history to reach this milestone. It’s the 6th album in every genre to hit 600-weeks mark.

Other albums that managed to stay on charts at least 600 weeks are: “Dark Side Of The Moon” by Pink Floyd (962 weeks), “Legend” by Bob Marley and the Wailers (751 weeks), “Journey’s Greatest Hits” by Journey (733 weeks), “Metallica” by Metallica (680 weeks), and “Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits” by Creedence Clearwater Revival (610 weeks).

Other hip-hop albums that are expected to surpass 600-weeks barrier in near future are “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” by Kendrick Lamar (519 weeks) and “Take Care” by Drake (501) weeks.

“Curtain Call: The Hits” is the first greatest hits album by Eminem, released on December 6, 2005, under Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. The album collects Eminem’s most popular singles, as well as four new songs, including a live version of “Stan”, featuring legendary Elton John, which they performed at the 43rd Grammy Awards, and the songs “Fack”, “When I’m Gone” and “Shake That” featuring Nate Dogg.

The album was certified Diamond in the United States this year, meaning it has sold over 10 million album equivalent units in US. Few months later, dropped a sequel to the album titled Curtain Call 2, which contains material from his later work.

Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By” hits special milestone on Billboard charts

This week, Eminem has three albums on the Billboard 200, with one returning and another reaching a significant milestone.

Music to Be Murdered By climbs to No. 139 while The Eminem Show resurfaces at No. 73 and Curtain Call: The Hits falls to No. 106.

Eminem’s latest offering Music To Be Murdered By (2020) has now been on the list for a total of 104 weeks, or full two years, making it  the first 2020s album to achieve this milestone.

The Eminem Show reaches highest rank on Billboard in last 5 years as it closes in to another milestone

Eminem’s fourth solo studio album, The Eminem Show, released in 2002, has re-entered on US Billboard 200 charts at No. 73 this week, making it the highest position the album has reached in the last five years (since 2017).

The Eminem Show is Eminem’s one of two diamond selling albums and is now three weeks away to complete 400 weeks on the charts.

Eminem sets new record on Billboard 200 charts

After recently setting a new record on Spotify, as The Slim Shady LP (1999) surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform, making Eminem the only artists in history to have 11 albums with +1 billion streams each, Slim Shady is back with yet another record, this time, on Billboard charts.

Eminem latest offering ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ re-entered this week’s Billboard 200 and completed a milestone, 100th week on the chart.

The Detroit legend becomes the first rapper in history to have 7 albums chart for at least 100 weeks each on the Billboard 200.

Kanye West ties one of Eminem’s Billboard records with “Donda” album

Last week, Kanye West released his tenth solo studio album, “Donda,” with the guest appearances from Jay Z, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, The Weeknd, Lil Durk, Kid Cudi, DaBaby, Conway The Machine and many more.

The album has officially sold 309,000 units in its first week which is easily enough to hit No.1 on Billboard 200 and earn Ye his tenth consecutive No.1 album on the charts. “Donda” has significantly increased sales compared to Kanye’s previous effort, “Jesus Is King,” which sold around 264,000 units on its first week back in 2019.

With West going No.1 for tenth time, consecutively, he tied Eminem’s accolade, who also has 10 consecutive albums going straight at No. 1 on Billboard. Kanye West and Eminem are the only artists in history to achieve this milestone.

Eminem’s No. 1 albums include: The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, Encore, Curtain Call: The Hits, Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP2, Revival, Kamikaze and Music To Be Murdered By.

Benny The Butcher outsells Conway The Machine and Wetsside Gunn !

The first-week sales for Griselda Records’ own Benny The Butcher’s “Burden Of Proof” are in and Hit-Boy produced album debuted at number 27 on the US Billboard 200 chart with the sales of 19,100 album equivalent units and becomes the fastest selling rapper on his label’s history.

In 2020, Westside Gunn released two albums “Pray For Paris,” and the other “Who Made The Sunshine” under Shady Records. “Pray For Paris” was the first ever and highest entry to date for WS Gunn on the charts, which peaked at number 35 and sold 11,000 copies in the first week.

As far as Conway The Machine, besides couple of mixtapes and EPs, the buffalo rapper released one full LP, “From A King To A God” which peaked at number 126 on the Billboard charts.

Benny’s “Burden Of Proof” was led by the single “Timeless” which features Lil Wayne and Big Sean. Other guest appearances include: Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs and among others, which, obviously helped the album to propel up.
