Skylar Grey teases “Love The Way You Lie” (Part 3)

Skylar Grey, who has originally wrote Eminem and Rihanna’s diamond selling single “Love The Way You Lie,” is going to release her own version of the song as a part III which will probably be included in her upcoming new project.

“This was by far the proudest moment of my career as a songwriter so far. Dropping this newly recorded version of Love The Way You Lie Part III on February 10th, 2023.” said Skylar Grey in her latest tweet.

The song is expected to arrive on streaming services three days before Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime show, where the pop megastar is expected to sing “Love The Way You Lie” at State Farm Stadium with Eminem rumored to appear as a special guest.

“Love the Way You Lie” is a song from Eminem’s 2010 album, Recovery. Skylar Grey wrote and recorded a demo of the song alongside the producer Alex da Kid when she felt she was in an abusive romantic relationship with the music industry. Eminem wrote the verses and chose Rihanna to sing the chorus, resulting in a collaboration influenced by their past experiences in difficult relationships.

Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic” album is back on streaming

The solo debut album from legendary producer Dr. Dre, The Chronic returns to every streaming services after nearly a year away from its original distributor Interscope Records.

“I am thrilled to bring The Chronic home to its original distribution partner, Interscope Records,” Dr. Dre noted in a press release.

“Dr. Dre is without a doubt one of the most iconic and groundbreaking artists in the modern era. He has also used his platform to fuel some very impactful philanthropic efforts that will ensure his legacy is felt for generations to come. Dre’s solo career all started with the The Chronic, one of the most celebrated recordings of all time. To have this album at Interscope once again where we work with Dre and his amazing team at Aftermath day in and day out is incredibly gratifying for me personally and all of us at Interscope.” – said Steve Berman, vice chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M.

The Chronic was released back in December 15, 1992,  under Death Row Records/Interscope and it peaked at No. 3 on The US Billboard 200 and has spent 97 weeks on the chart since its release. The album also spawned three top 40 hits on the Hot 100, including top 10 records with “Nuthin’ But a “G” Thang” (No. 2) featuring Snoop Dogg. Rolling Stone placed The Chronic on its 500 Greatest Albums of All-Time List, noting the album “redefined the West Coast Hip Hop sound.”

Mark Batson reminisces studio times with Eminem & Dr. Dre with iconic picture

Legendary Mark Batson, who has previously worked with Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre on many occasions, contributing to some of the most iconic records which have sold more than millions of copies worldwide, has recently hit twitter to remember the golden times in the studio with Eminem and Dr. Dre.

“Once upon a time, many years ago, there were three musicians who loved this powerful art form called: Hip Hop.” – The super-producer tweeted couple of hours ago, along the picture of himself, Eminem and Dr. Dre being in the studio, probably recording something for Relapse album.

Mark was heavily involved in my favorite Eminem album of all time, Relapse and Relapse: Refill. Some of his biggest Slim Shady hits include: “A– Like That,” “Crack A Bottle,” “Just Lose It,” “Kill For You,” with Skylar Grey, “Mosh,” “Nowhere Fast,” with Kehlani, “We Made You,” and the most recent work on Music To Be Murdered By album “Premonition.”

When we made Relapse with Eminem, it was not well received at the moment but now it is considered to be a classic. That’s how it goes… The most important thing is to keep being creative and offer the people things you think they will need. From the calls, I have been getting today, and the album already being #1 on the iTunes’ New Age charts, I think that people are letting their voices be known that something like this album is essential.” said Mark Batson in an interview with HipHop24x7 back in 2021.

50 Cent promises new music after getting RIAA certificates, Joey Bada$$ reacts

Twenty one songs by 50 Cent have recently been certified either multiple platinum, platinum or gold by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It includes a mega hit single “In Da Club” almost hitting Diamond and “Candy Shop” going 5x platinum.

Aside from multiple platinum records, six of his records received platinum certifications: “I Get Money,” “Patiently Waiting,” featuring Eminem, “Best Friend,” “Outta Control,” “Hate It Or Love It,” by The Game, featuring 50 Cent and “Window Shopper.”

Fif shared the news on Instagram with the caption: “I got a couple joints, I’mma see what I sound like now.” This is the second time the New York legend teases new music. At the start of 2023, Fiddy shared screenshot of an Eminem article about becoming YouTube’s most watched rapper in 2022 and in the caption he wrote: “That’s my Boy! I’m gonna remind people I’m nice this year. New Music, New TV, New movie… let’s go!”

Joey Bada$$ could not hide his astonishment when he saw “Hate It Or Love It” joint with The Game has just been certified platinum and left the reply under Fif’s post: “How is hate it or love it now going platinum???? THIS STREAMING S–T DONE F–KED THE GAME UP.”

Detroit rapper Kash Doll also showed love to 50 Cent as she commented: “Big 50!”

50 Cent has also recently dropped the remastered versions “Back Down” and “God Gave Me Style” to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of his classic debut album “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'”

Has Skylar Grey just hinted new song with Eminem?

Latest post by Skylar Grey has fans buzzing in the social media as long-time Eminem friend and collaborator posts new picture on Instagram, wearing a t-shirt with “I Love The Way You Lie” written on it.

In the caption, she writes: “Things are happening…” but that’s not the reason why fans got too excited. Skylar tagged Eminem and Rihanna on the picture that sparked rumors of them collaborating once again.

Fans think of three theories:

  • Some think there is a new song coming out as there is a supposedly new album cover in the screen in front of Skylar.
  • Others think it’s just Skylar showing love to Eminem and Rihanna by rocking the t-shirt of their biggest hit song from Recovery.
  • And few of them think Skylar Grey is releasing an album that includes her greatest hits, including “Love The Way You Lie,” “Coming Home,” “Walk On Water and “I Need A Doctor.”

The third theory is less possible to happen, as Skylar Grey has recently sold all her royalties to pay for divorce expenses and I’m not sure if she is allowed to record and album of her past-written songs.

First theory is possible. Whenever there is Skylar Grey or Eminem album coming out, we always see each other featured on their own albums and as Skylar recently revealed, Eminem was so supportive after her financial difficulties. She also hinted on something with Em last year.

Out of these three, the second theory looks to be the most realistic. Skylar Grey just showed love to Eminem and Rihanna with the t-shirt and and probably took the opportunity to poke the fans.

If there is a new song coming out, it would mark 11th song they have made together. You can check out the list of all Eminem and Skylar Grey songs below:

Wack 100 lashes out on Hebrew Israelites for accusing Eminem of “stealing black culture”

The Game’s manager and the CEO of 100 Entertainment Wack 100 has recently got into a heated argument on Clubhouse with Black Hebrew Israelites after they declared that they don’t respect Eminem because of being a ‘culture thief.’

During the conversation on Clubhouse, one up-and-coming artist said: “I don’t respect Eminem, because he’s a culture thief.” And then the other one said: “I never rock with Eminem and I never rock with Akon.

On that Wack 100 replied: “Eminem is legend ma ni–a. I f–k with Eminem. You know why I f–l with Eminem? You see what going on Megan Thee Stallion movement, you know what’s going on right? Nobody knew who she was and my brother put her on. She was out of her pocket. Soon as she got her part, she went on Roc Nation and she said ‘f–k the brother.’ Now I’m telling you why I f–k with Eminem. As big as he has gotten, as big as he is, he refuses to walk away from Dr. Dre’s contract, the man who believed in him. They been offering him hundreds of millions and he’s always like ‘I’m signed to Aftermath, talk to Dre.’ That’s why I respect that man. Every other ni–a in this business, when a ni–a believed in him, put them on, payed the rent, next day they were like ‘I wanna get away, f–k you.’ What Eminem does is called LOYALTY.”

“You are all racist organization praying on the bible. All you say, all this s–t is hypocritical.” – he added.

Then one of the artist said: “If we are talking about the greatest of all time Eminem should not be in that discussion. Even Snoop said that. Snoop said he’s a guest in this culture. He can not be the best. Eminem did not earn his numbers. That Slim Shady song would not be popping if he was black. No black person could rap about his mama like he raps about his mama and gets away with it. I ain’t saying Eminem is not good but didn’t The Game just did 10-minute diss song towards Eminem?”

Wack 100 replied: “That was for entertainment bro. We don’t wanna fight Eminem. We don’t wanna kill Eminem. And Game was actually paying a respect to Eminem on The Black Slim Shady track.”

New Song: Twonbeatz & GRIP – “The Past”

Back in October, 2022, GRIP dropped a mixtape called “5 & A F*** You,” the follow-up project of his Shady Records debut album, titled “I Died For This?!,” which featured guest appearances from AHYES, Marco Plus, Wara and Tate228.

The East-Atlanta rapper originally intended to record an EP in a week, but instead ended up extending the project to mixtape length, letting it run its proper course. You can feel the emotion in his voice when he raps: “The day Em spit me my lyrics, I knew I really made it / To have him and Royce on my album, that shit feel amazin’/ ‘Cause they giants in my eyes, residin’ where I aim to be / Remember buyin’ they CD and now they give me game for free.”

After “Cook Up” and “The F Word,” GRIP has recently dropped the music video of “94 Flow,” featuring AHYES. The song is produced by Latrell James and its chorus references to A Tribe Called Quest song, titled “Oh My God.”

After that, GRIP came back again with The Radar Freestyle, spitting over Peezy’s “2 Million Up” instrumental. In the original song, the Detroit’s own Peezy references Eminem with the following lines: “Hit your house party, f–_ it up, we misbehavin’ / Gotta keep an eye on my n–_a Slim cause he Shady.”

Yesterday, the Shady Records hitman teamed up with Twonbeatz, a man who is uncredited producer on Grammy-winning song “King’s Dead” performed by Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and Future from Marvel Studios superhero film Black Panther and Jay Rock’s third solo studio album Redemption.

50 Cent releases remastered music video of “Back Down”

After 7 months break from his YouTube channel, 50 Cent is back with the new video upload.

Its seems 50 Cent is preparing for 20-year anniversary for his classic debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, released in February 6, 2003. Fif has just re-released remastered version of his “Back Down” music video. The instrumental is composed by Dr. Dre and it was originally intended to be used on Rakim’s debut Aftermath album, titled Oh My God, but due to creative differences it was not released.

In the song, Fif takes a blatant break from rapping about the dangers of life for a gangster and decides to direct his attention to addressing his fellow New York City rapper, Ja Rule, who he was beefing with him at that time: “Jay put you on, X made you hot, Now you run around like you some big shot, Ha ha, pu–y.” Referring to Ja Rule’s track “It’s Murda” which features Jay Z and DMX. After getting the features from big time artists he must’ve thought he made it in the music industry. Later, “Back Down” was listed on XXL magazine’s list of the greatest diss tracks of all time.

After re-releasing “Back Down” video, couple of hours later, 50 Cent dropped another re-mastered video, this time, from Massacre album. “God Gave Me Style” is produced by Needlz and it is about how much 50 feels blessed by the Lord, even with all the struggles he had to go through in his life.

James Larese talks about working with Eminem on Empire State Building performance

No Jumper host Sharps has recently sat down with the video director James Larese to talk about the business, how he navigates his way to success, artists he has worked with, how he keeps his motivation going and much more.

At one point of the interview, Sharps asked James Larese to talk about working with Eminem on Empire State Building performance of his “Venom” single from 2018, off Kamikaze album.

“I’ve worked very very consistently with Eminem for many many years, since about 2008. So, he was gonna perform. He had this song “Venom” out and he was going to do that performance. They did an actual music video for it as well but this was gonna be the separate live performance that we were gonna shoot live.” said Larese.

Then he continues: “Eminem is amazing. He’s genius. He’s a genius, that’s all I can say. And here is a thing. We shot it a week before the Kimmel show. Before it was gonna air. And it was planned out where on that day that it was gonna air Kim will throw it to them and it would seem as if it was right then. So, because we did that a week ahead of time it had to be a secret. So how you do that? It could not let be known because then everyone would know it was not live when it actually aired. People do that all the time when they shoot things.”

“So, basically we had 70th floor up of the Empire State Building for about two days. To rehearse and sequence, the lights of the Empire State building to the song, so when we would play the song the lights of the Empire State Building would pulse to the beat, they change it. And then we had two helicopters, one that was filming his performance and one that was shooting that helicopter shooting him. I wanted to take advantage of that fact that we were actually using helicopter so I wanted to be able to shoot the helicopter in the shot.” he added.

Earlier this month James Larese, who has previously worked with Eminem on “From Detroit To The LBC,” with Snoop Dogg, “Is This Love (09′),” with 50 Cent “Darkness,” “Rainy Days” with Westside Boogie, “Lucky You,” with Joyner Lucas, “Fall” and “Fast Lane” with Royce 5’9″ music videos and SNL sketches, also hinted that Eminem has something planned in 2023.

An icon recognizes an icon! Busta Rhymes salutes Eminem in his latest social media post.

East Flatbush, New York-born legend has recently hit Instagram to show love to Detroit legend by sharing their in-studio picture from 2014. In the caption, he writes:

I know I am Super late on this but I gotta Salute one of my favorite MCs to ever touch the microphone and congratulate him on his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction!! Eminem, Well deserved and Don’t Stop Ever King!!

Back in November 5, 2022, Eminem got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Dr. Dre in his first year of eligibility. Slim Shady celebrated his induction with a career-spanning medley featuring several special guests. The Detroit legend opened the show with brief snippet of his signature 1999 smash, “My Name Is,” before abruptly jumping to 2013’s “Rap God,” with its plethora of lyrical acrobatics. Eminem then welcomed Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler to the stage, enlisting the frontman to belt the “Dream On” hook that anchors his 2002 The Eminem Show track “Sing for the Moment.” Ed Sheeran was the next guest on stage, who played guitar and sang the hook for “Stan” (the original song samples Dido’s “Thank You”).

Almighty Suspect explains why Jay-Z doesn’t have bigger impact than Eminem

Following 50 Cent, Los Angeles rapper and No Jumper host Almighty Suspect is another artist who disagrees former NBA player Jamal Crawford saying Jay-Z has bigger impact on hip-hop than Eminem albums sales will ever have.

During the conversation with Shaquille O’Neal on his new podcast called The Big Podcast, Crawford drew the parallel to hip-hop to rank his top five NBA players of all time and used Eminem and JAY-Z’s impact as an example.

“In my top five, the dominance outweighs the number. You can not change the game and say this person has more points than me, he is better. It is beyond that. Jay-Z’s affect on hip-hop is bigger than any album sales Eminem will have. That is just how it goes.” Crawford said.

Jamal Crawford’s statement sparked lots of discussions in social media and 50 Cent also weighed in. The Hip-Hop Wolf Instagram page posted Crawford’s interview and asked fans if they agree to the statement or not. Under the comment section, Fifty replied: “Ha, bulls–t.” with Sneezing Face emoji.

Today, the topic has been discussed in No Jumper podcast, where Almighty Suspect denied Crawford’s statement: “Bro, I can name like six Eminem clones right now. Hopsin, DAX, Logic, MGK, that white McDonald dude that white dude who’s is making If-I-Was-Black songs. Joyner Lucas is one of them too. That’s the six. I’m not naming rappers that look like Eminem. I’m naming rappers who are actual clones of Eminem. I just named six. Tell me, name me, six Jay-Z clones.” said Suspect.

Then he continues: “I’m not saying Eminem’s impact is better or worse but it’s large! It has to be acknowledged and I don’t even like Eminem like whatsoever. I think Jay-Z’s impact on rap is bigger outside of rap. More entrepreneur s–t. In the business aspect, hell yeah. But if we talking about just rap, bro, all Jay-Z does is f–king quote Biggie lines. F–k we talking about ni–a. His effect, I get it, because he’s definitely one of the GOATs, one of the greatest rappers alive in people’s eyes. To me, one of the greatest artist is Wayne. Jay-Z’s impact in hip-hop, what are we saying? Like, what? Where? Besides being a business mogul.”

“Eminem does have a lot of numbers but he also has a big impact on rap bro. You know how many motherf–kers trying to imitate him? Ni–as do that all day. It’s not like eight of them. It’s millions of them.” Suspect added.

50 Cent responds to Jamal Crawford saying JAY-Z has bigger impact than Eminem

50 Cent does not believe JAY-Z has had a bigger impact on hip-hop culture than Eminem.

Few days ago, former NBA player Jamal Crawford visited Shaquille O’Neal on his new podcast called The Big Podcast.  During the conversation, Crawford drew the parallel to hip-hop to rank his top five NBA players of all time and used Eminem and JAY-Z’s impact as an example.

“In my top five, the dominance outweighs the number. You can not change the game and say this person has more points than me, he is better. It is beyond that. Jay-Z’s affect on hip-hop is bigger than any album sales Eminem will have. That is just how it goes.” Crawford said during the interview.

Jamal Crawford’s statement sparked lots of discussions in social media and 50 Cent also weighed in. The Hip-Hop Wolf Instagram page posted Crawford’s interview and asked fans if they agree to him or not. Under the comment section, Fifty replied: “Ha, bulls–t.” with Sneezing Face emoji.

One user commented: “If the impact is so strong to the level he says it is, why don’t the numbers match it? Jay-Z fans love to talk about his money in reference to being the GOAT but when someone out preforms him like Eminem, then they move the goal post lol Eminem can do an 80,000 venue by HIMSELF, can Jay? How’s that for impact.

While another replied: “Eminem is a better rapper than Jay-Z though when it comes to skills and his pen game is better!!! I also think Nas is better also when it comes to skills and his pen game.”

About a month ago, 50 Cent talked about Eminem not getting the credit he deserves: “I don’t think that they give Em the credit that he deserves. Because, in order for people to embrace something, they have to see where they fit in. I think part of Eminem’s legacy is the growth of our culture. People wouldn’t buy it if they didn’t see where they fit into it. And he’s there and he’s a legitimate artist because of his journey. When you look at 8 Mile, you’re seeing a Black story with a white lead. You seeing poverty, you’re seeing similar circumstances. Look at his friends Proof and D12 and everybody: these are real hip hop guys. Which is why he’s a real hip hop guy.”
