Jay-Z Brings Out Eminem to Perform “Renegade” at Yankee Stadium

Hip-hop icons Jay-Z and Eminem reunited at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night for a massive performance celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jay-Z’s landmark album, The Blueprint.

Eminem shocked the New York crowd by hitting the stage to perform “Renegade,” the duo’s classic collaboration from the 2001 album. After the performance, Eminem embraced Jay-Z and hyped up the crowd, shouting, “New York! Make some noise for one of the greatest motherf—ers to ever touch a motherf—— microphone.”

Eminem wasn’t done, later returning to the stage to perform his smash hit “Lose Yourself.” In a nod to the night’s theme, he performed the track over a modified instrumental of Jay-Z’s infamous diss track, “The Takeover.”

The concert marked Jay-Z’s second consecutive night headlining the Bronx stadium. On Friday, he celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, alongside a star-studded guest lineup that included Beyoncé, Nas, and Alicia Keys.

This isn’t the first time the two legends have shared the Yankee Stadium stage. They famously performed “Renegade” there during their 2010 Home & Home Tour, a co-headlining stadium run through Detroit and New York that they originally announced together at a Detroit Tigers game.
