Joe Budden Reacts to Eminem’s Surprise Appearance at JAY-Z’s Yankee Stadium Concert

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Joe Budden shared his unfiltered thoughts on Eminem’s surprise appearance at JAY-Z’s record-breaking The Blueprint 25th-anniversary concert at Yankee Stadium. Budden was highly impressed by Eminem’s flawless stage presence and attention to detail during the historic performance. “Marshall came out, that was great. He’s such a f–king technical mastermind on that stage,” Budden remarked. “He got his own special mic, it has preamps and EQs.”

However, Budden quickly noticed a stark contrast in audio quality when the two legendary emcees transitioned into their iconic 2001 collaboration. “During ‘Renegade.’ Jay mic sounded off,” Budden explained. “I saw Jay kind of looking like he was struggling with the in-ear, a little bit during ‘Renegade.’ Bad time for that to happen with all of the stories that we’ve gotten about Jay and Marshall on ‘Renegade.'”

Despite JAY-Z’s apparent technical difficulties, Eminem‘s delivery remained completely unbothered, cutting through the stadium speakers perfectly. Budden noted, “And here come Em out who can be heard perfectly: ‘Since I’m in a position to talk to these kids and they listen, I ain’t no politician, but I’ll kick it with ’em a minute,’ at Yankee Stadium! Naah, he gotta chill out! Somebody f–king throw something at him! He gotta relax a little bit!”

Ultimately, Budden conceded that the performance was a massive success, especially when the two hip-hop titans began trading verses over each other’s signature production. Celebrating the rare moment of the two icons sharing a stage, Budden concluded, “So, they killed that! And they did the same thing where Em is rapping over a Jay beat, and Hov is rapping over his beat. That was… They killed that!”
