Advertisement Back in May 2014, Dre confidently said, “They need to update the Forbes list — s–t just changed,” shortly after he and Jimmy Iovine sold their Beats by Dre company to Apple for $3 billion. The brand was later integrated into Apple Music. Advertisement More than a decade later, the numbers finally reflect that claim. Still, the billionaire rankings are massive — highlighting the enormous wealth gap between the world’s richest individuals and everyone else. Dre lands in a tie for No. 3,332 on the global list with several other billionaires, including Jared Kushner, Rihanna and steel industry executive Richard Teets Jr..According to Forbes, Dre is part of an “elite group of celebrities who have recently crossed the three-comma threshold.” Out of the 22 billionaire entertainers identified by the publication, nearly half have reached that level within the last three years.
