Illa Da Producer, who has previously worked with Eminem on “Killshot,” “Lucky You,” “The Ringer,” “Good Guy,” “Normal,” “Offended,” “Book Of Rhymes,” and “Favorite B–ch,” recently shared a story about how him and PHresher ended up working with Slim Shady on REVIVAL album, while sharing the screenshot of the platinum certification of the album on Instagram.
“Story Time: This was the first Eminem album I worked on. It started with me meeting Jay Andino and his artist at the time PHresher. I was charging around $2-3k for a beat at that time. Jay and Phresh told me they didn’t have a big budget. I could’ve charged $2k for one beat, but spending my youth in BK, gave me a soft spot for any n-gga from BK trying to make a way out by doing music. I agreed to $500 a beat and they got 4 beats from me.” said Illa Da Producer in the caption of the post.
Then he continued: “One of the songs turned into a smash called “Wait a Minute”. Phresh killed his performance and this n-gga Jay worked his magic and got that record played everywhere. Everyone and they momma did a remix. Most notably, 50 Cent did a remix and Royce Da 5’9″ heard it and did one. Eminem heard Royce’s and loved it and loved Phresh’ voice and the beat. Long story shortened, he wanted Phresh on his upcoming album “Revival” and wanted some beats from me I ended up doing a song called “Offended.” SO, a $500 beat GOT ME TO WORK WITH EMINEM!”
“Moral of the story: don’t be greedy. Trust the process. Follow Gods lead and the rest will follow!” Illa Da Producer added. In the comments section, PHresher replied: “Thanks again my brother for trusting me … s–t changed my life.” You can check the original post below:
