Just Blaze considers leaking canceled Slaughterhouse album, shares TWO songs!

Back in 2008, Joe Budden joined forces with hip-hop lyricists Royce da 5’9”, KXNG Crooked, and Joell Ortiz to form the hit-making group Slaughterhouse. The moniker originated from a Budden song of the same name featuring the other artists.

Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2009 and their sophomore LP, Welcome To: Our House, dropped in 2012 under Eminem’s Shady Records. But in April 2018, the MCs parted ways and the supergroup was no more.

Earlier this year, Joe Budden reflected on Slaughterhouse’s disbanding during an interview on Drink Champs: “Come on, give me the blame; I’ll take it. I’ll take the blame. I ruined everything. Everything that you loved, I ruined that s–t.” said Joe.

Slaughterhouse was reportedly in the midst of recording their third album, Glass House, when the members left to work on their own careers. In a since-deleted Instagram post, KXNG Crooked explained back then that music ceased to become the main focus. “The group ain’t rapping no more and that’s fine. It was fun while it lasted. Glass House, I have no clue. All I can tell you [is] it exists. If it comes out, I’ll retweet it. Other than that, it’s all love. Everybody who supported me in Slaughterhouse, thank you.”

Glass House has yet to see the light of day, but Crooked has continued to collaborate with fellow Slaughterhouse alum Joell Ortiz. The duo released a joint project, H.A.R.D., in 2020. The two linked up again in March 2022 for the album The Rise and Fall of Slaughterhouse, which contained songs like the pointedly titled “F*kglasshouse.”

Today, Just Blaze made a tweet on X that might turn everything upside down! “I just found the slaugherhouse album. Jesus this is great. I might do the lords work.” Just Blaze said and shared two songs from the album!

Joe Budden admits Slaughterhouse break-up was his fault

On the latest episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” hosted by N.O.R.E and DJ EFN, Joe Budden reflected on Slaughterhouse demise and the New York-bred rapper seemingly took full responsibility for their split.

“Come on, give me the blame; I’ll take it. I’ll take the blame. I ruined everything. Everything that you loved, I ruined that s–t. Even next to 10 years long of just stories and talking, hey, I did it. It was me. It was me!” said Joe Budden.

Then he continues: “I don’t know what was tremendous and what wasn’t but I think E1 [Entertainment] gave us an opportunity and I think Shady [Records] gave us an opportunity. I’m grateful for both. Like, which one was more lucrative, who knows. I don’t think our business was being done the right way at the time so I couldn’t say. We had four managers. That sounds like a mess. I did try to bring one person to manage the group’s entity at one point but that didn’t go well.”

Later on, N.O.R.E started talking about how Slaughterhouse was formed and reminded Joe Budden that him and Royce were dissing each other before joining forces in one group. On that, Joe replied: “You are conflating things. But I guess that’s true at different points. I did a record that was not the friendliest to Royce but I never put it out because him and I got cool and then it got leaked and then it was some back and forth going on. We squashed that and then I reached out for a verse. And that was a Slaughterhouse track. It was me, Royce, Crooked, Joell and Nino Bless. And the reaction was great. So we just kept it up. It was really as simple as that. We kept everybody from the song except Nino Bless. And shout out to him.”

Royce 5’9″ talks if Eminem is to be blamed for Slaughterhouse’s unsuccessful debut

Royce 5’9″ has recently done a livestream question and answer session on Instagram. The Detroit legend was asked if Eminem was to blame for the unsuccessful start of Slaughterhouse when they dropped their Shady Records debut album Welcome To: Our House in 2011.

“Do I blame Marshall for Our House? What do you mean? The way it came out? Em put his f**king soul into Our House. Em probably put as much work as I did in that project.” said Royce.

Royce continues: “When I collaborate with somebody, especially like Em, first of all, I’m always going to trust his judgment. Same way with Preem. I’mma trust his judgment. I’m a firm believer in roles. People play roles depending on what situation it is. Whenever I’m working with Em, I play a position, very rarely do I try to play the lead position because I know that’s something he used to do. Same with Preem. We disagree in lots of things. If there is something he feels super strongly about, I go against my better judgment because I know if Preem is wrong then I’m willing to take the L with him. If he is right, you can’t be more right. And I feel the same way about Marshall.”

“Marshall had a vision for Our House and when we put it out, fans thought it was too polished. I’m very aware of all the mistakes we made creatively and I can take the blame for a lot of those. I don’t blame Marshall anything for creatively. I see the mistakes that were made but I told him don’t trip on that. Cause he felt like ‘I touched too much, I did too much.’ And I was like ‘Nah, don’t even do that. If its L to take, we going to take it together.’ It was all good when we were in the studio together. We had the same energy so ain’t nobody to blame. I appreciate the work Eminem put in it.” Royce added.

Royce 5’9″ says he’s disappointed in Eminem & Slaughterhouse for not showing support in Lupe Fiasco beef

Following Royce Da 5’9″ and Lupe Fiasco dropping a diss-tracks on each other, “Silence of the Lambda” and “Steve Jobs” respectively, Mickey Factz also jumped into beef on Fiasco’s side, hitting Royce with another diss-track, titled “Wraith.”

In a recent Live session on Instagram, Royce expressed his disappointment with some of his fellow lyrical-spitters “Speaking of Crook and Joell, what are they up to? Watching me get jumped on? You know what I would be doing right now if somebody pulled this on one of my loved ones? I would have been rapped. I am disappointed in Crooked, I am disappointed in Joell, I am disappointed in King Los, I am disappointed in Grafh, I am disappointed in Joyner Lucas, I am disappointed in Marshall… Nah, I ain’t disappointed in Marshall.

Those people right there I just named are very close loved ones. Never should you sit back and watch me. It is not about trusting me, that is not the point I am making. It is not about them wondering if I can handle myself in rapping. It is the fact that you are looking at me, and you are looking at two other individuals gang up on me on some lyrical shit, and you just sitting there watching.” said Royce.

When asked whether or not Eminem has weighed in yet, Royce shakes his head, saying: “I do not think it made its way to the f**kin’ Android Metro phone [laughs] I do not think it is that f**kin big! Has not reached the Batphone yet.

Royce 5’9″ shares Slaughterhouse snippets from vaulted “Glass House” album

Like Eminem’s “Relapse 2” and Dr. Dre’s “Detox” album, Slaughterhouse’s “Glass House” album is remained as one of hip-hop’s many lost treasures.

Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz have been giving hope to the fans but nothing from “Glass House” has ever seen the light of the day.

Royce 5’9″ & Joell Ortiz talk about Griselda comparisons, “I Will” song with Eminem & more

During a recent interview with Marisa Mendez on HipHopDX, Royce Da 5’9″ was surprisingly joined by Joell Ortiz where the two proceeded to stroll down memory lane, reflecting on their Slaughterhouse, reuniting on Eminem’s “I Will” for Music To Be Murdered By album, and sharing a few thoughts on the Griselda movement:

“Griselda did not necessarily get more mainstream attention than we did. We actually released an album. It was two totally different journeys. I do understand the comparison.” said Royce and Joell added: “They anti-establishment, like we are.”

Then the two talk about “I Will” song: “That song was a joint we did a long time ago. Em just went back through it, cause he does that sometimes. Especially if we go to his studio to record it, nobody will take a copy of it. It’ll be something that exists in his world. When he called me and told me that he wanted to use it, I was like f**k, I know he ain’t gonna let me change my verse. But then I heard my verse and thought, okay, that’s cool.” said Royce.

“I thought the exact same thing Royce. I hadn’t heard it in years. It definitely held up.” added Joell Ortiz
