Eminem’s “Rap God” is trending on Genius

“Rap God” by Eminem from his 2013 The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album is currently trending on Genius. The song has 18.1 million total views and is currently occupying No. 4 spot, averaging 90 views per half an hour.

By the time the song was released, it entered the Guinness World Records as the hit single that contains the most words; it has 1,560 words. The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance but lost to Kendrick Lamar’s “i” single.

In the United States, “Rap God” debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It also debuted at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with over 270,000 downloads sold. Since its release, the song has been certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA. The song is close to 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Another song that is currently trending on Genius is Eminem’s “Mockingbird” from Encore (2004) album which is sitting on 18th place on the charts. The song has recently joined the Billion Views club on Spotify and became 7th Eminem song to reach 1 billion mark.

Nandi Bushell is an artist who gained international fame for her drumming skill, performing covers of popular songs (mainly rock) and later her ow music n material. Her YouTube videos have drawn the attention of numerous musicians including Questlove, Dave Grohl, Matt Bellamy and Lenny Kravitz.

Bushell was the youngest artist featured on the cover of Modern Drummer magazine and is the first-ever musician-in-residence at Cartoon Network. She has performed with Kravitz and with Grohl’s band Foo Fighters, and was a featured guest performer at the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II in London.

She has recently covered Eminem‘s “Rap God,” specifically the supersonic speed part. In the caption of the video, she wrote: “Guess who’s back? My first new cover in almost 6 months! Rap God by Eminem! Inspired by the awesome drummer @halcvlte. I am still working on my original songs. Coming soon! I can’t wait for you to hear them. Working on my speed and consistency.”

The tweet was retweeted by Eminem’s manager and long-time friend Paul Rosenberg with the caption: “Right on time! Incredible.”

Drummer takes Eminem’s “Godzilla” challenge on another level

Two years ago, Eminem called on social media followers to take part in the “Godzilla” challenge.

On “Godzilla,” featuring Juice WRLD, from “Music To Be Murdered By” album, Eminem raps a staggering 224 words in just 31 seconds of the final verse, as Genius reports before.

Eminem’s fans were subsequently invited to take up the rapid-fire challenge – prompting a huge number of impressive efforts from fans. Later, Eminem announced the winners.

LL Cool J’s radio channel “Rock The Bells” has recently tweeted a video of a drummer taking on “Godzilla,” with the caption: “Drum God! The speed that Hal Drums is hittin’ Eminem’s “Godzilla” on these drums might be as impressive as the speed Em’ was spittin’ rhymes on the original.”

J.J. Fad thank Eminem for using “Rap God” in Super Bowl ad with a hilarious video

Couple of days ago, Pepsi released the trailer of Super Bowl 2022, titled “The Call,” featuring Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.

The trailer features a musical compilation of iconic tracks “Rap God,” “The Next Episode,” “Family Affair,” “HUMBLE.,” “Still D.R.E.,” and “California Love.”

As you know, in the song “Rap God,” Eminem pays homage to American female rap group, J.J. Fad with a ‘supersonic’ speed: “Lyrics comin’ at you at supersonic speed (J.J. Fad)..”

Now that the song was used in a trailer of Super Bowl, it’s a payday for J.J. Fad because of the royalty laws.

Rialto, California girls posted a video on TikTok expressing gratitude to Eminem with a caption: “Thank you Eminem! We are once again honored!” On Twitter, they wrote: “So honored, humbled, and thankful to be payed homage to on the biggest stage in sports!! Thank you Eminem and Dr. Dre, we love y’all!!”

Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg impressed with fan-made “Rap God” remix

Back in 2013, Eminem released critically acclaimed song “Rap God” as the third single from his eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

The song entered the Guinness World Records as the hit single that contains the most words. “Rap God” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance in 2014.

The single also saw the charting success as it debuted at No. 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Almost 9 years later, we might get the remix version of the song as Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg was impressed with fan-made remake of the song. A twitter user named @themrcii_ shared the snippet of the remix and asked Paul to have a listen. Few hours later, Paul responded with: “Post a link to the whole thing. Sounds cool.”

Canadian rapper Dax releases the music video of Eminem’s “Rap God” remix.

The rapper has previously dropped dozens of remixes of Eminem’s songs, including “Killshot,” “Godzilla” and “The Real Slim Shady.”

In the song, Dax references popular YouTuber, No Life Shaq, with the following lines:

I’m A HEAD that’s why they talk BEHIND MY BACK
