Here is how much Eminem’s Bored Ape NFT costs now

It was January of 2022, and non-fungible tokens  known as NFTs were all the rage. So much so, Eminem decided to buy a ‘Bored Ape’ token for 123.45 Ether — approximately USD 462,000.

The constantly decreasing interest in NFT and the plunge in trading volumes have strongly affected all the celebrities, including Eminem in terms of their digital art purchases.

Eminem purchased Bored Ape 9055 for 123,45 ETH or $462,00 at the time. Fast forward 18 months, the value for said token is now $59,210. Losing more than $400,000.

Moreover, Slim Shady even teamed up with another NFT collector –  legendary Snoop Dogg – to create a BAYC-themed song, “From The D 2 The LBC,” from Curtain Call 2 compilation album. The two even dropped music video directed by James Larese. The animated video shows Em and Snoop imagined as NFT-esque avatars in a comic book.

On the day of the single’s release, Snoop Dogg and Eminem performed the song live at ApeFest 2022, a festival held in New York for Bored Ape NFT holders. In summer they also performed the song live at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey.

After all the promotion, the NFTs world still seems to be struggling.

Here is how much Eminem is down on his NFT investment

The constantly decreasing interest in NFT and the plunge in trading volumes have strongly affected the football player Neymar Jr. and Detroit legend Eminem in terms of their digital art purchases.

At the beginning of the year 2022, the Brazilian superstar purchased two digital collectibles as a part of the Bored Ape Yacht Club for more than $1 million, and the current valuation of the art is approximately  $340,000. Eminem’s paper losses as of the moment are around $330,000.

Back in January this year, Eminem purchased Bored Ape 9055 for 123,45 ETH or $462,00 at the time. As of the moment, though, the estimated valuation of his collectible has dropped to around $140,000.

Footage of Snoop Dogg phone-calling Eminem get him into NFT business surfaces online

Eminem and Snoop Dogg have just collaborated on a new track called “From The D 2 The LBC” from upcoming “Curtain Call 2” album. The legendary rappers performed the new single live on stage at ApeFest 2022 for Bored Ape Yacht Club holders. The NFT.NYC side event was an exclusive event for NFT holders and the new track even gave cryptophobic people the feeling of FOMO.

Along with the song and music video, Em and Snoop also dropped BAYC merchandise. The merch was only available to MAYC and BAYC holders, and it was only redeemable using ApeCoin. Holders had 48 hours to claim the drop, with only one item available to each holder.

Earlier this year, Eminem created ripples in the metaverse with a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT, which cost him 123.45 Ether which was approximately $450,000 at that time. The purchase of BAYC #9055 was done by the account holder Shady_Holdings on OpenSea. The NFT was bought from its owner Geegazza who couldn’t contain his excitement on social media.

Champ Medici, Web 3 Architect and founder of Crypto fund, shared a story how he got Paul Rosenberg and Eminem into NFT business through Snoop Dogg.

“I saw Paul Rosenberg eating dinner at the Barclays November 3rd 2021 and I didn’t hesitate to tell him to bring Eminem to this space, he wasn’t convinced so I had my client Snoop Dogg call Em November 21st to convince him.” said Champ Medici and then he shared a video of the phone-call and screenshot of text messages with Paul Rosenberg.

“My son run past Paul about this NFT world we got with metaworld and metaverse that you definitely need to get in cause s**t over there.” tells Snoop to Eminem and Em responds: “That’s crazy idea. I don’t even know you could do that.”

Then Champ continues tweeting: “A few months later Nick Yads and The Champ flew to New York City to meet with Paul Rosenberg again to walk him through how it would work and what ideas we thought would best fit their brand. Both Parties own Bored Ape so we felt it was extremely aligned to make the music video cross over.”

“We ran the idea by Yuga Labs and it was green lit light. We flew to Detroit right after closing Garyvee VeeCon in Minnesota 30 days later the music video was completed and history was made. Eight months and some change it took to make this happen.” Champ added while sharing the video of Eminem and Snoop Dogg watching music video of “From The D 2 The LBC.”

“I’m not bragging or making this about me it’s just a beautiful thing to see how time works and ideas are always on our side. To any go getters out there that may have to go through a journey of people fully not understanding your vision stay down for the come have faith and be patient.” he said at the end of his tweet series.

Tom MacDonald shows off physical items he received after purchasing Eminem’s NFT beat

Last year, Eminem released NFT bundle called “Stan’s Revenge” which included a beat produced by himself, along with some rare collectibles like Trading Cards, Action Figures, and a lot more.

“Stan’s Revenge” also included physical items like a pair of Shady XV Air Jordan Carhartt 4s, SSLP20 Film Strip signed by Eminem, and a signed Vinyl of “Infinite”.

The NFT was bought by Tom MacDonald on auction for $100,000 who used the original Eminem beat for a song titled “Dear Slim.”

The Canadian rapper now finally received the items from the “Stan’s Revenge” NFT, and shared it on his social media with the caption: “Remember when I got that Eminem beat and made “Dear Slim”? The physical items that came with the beat just arrived. An autographed vinyl of Eminem’s first album, “Infinite”. An autographed shadow box with film from the Slim Shady LP. And a pair of the Eminem Jordan’s. We definitely have our differences politically – which I sometimes poke fun at – but as a person and as a creative, it is nothing but the utmost respect. After all…the man is the reason I started rapping. Not sure if he would be stoked to hear that though. Any way you want to cut the cake… These are some historic items from one of the greatest rappers to ever live. I will tuck it away in a safe place and along with the “Dear Slim” video, they will serve as a reminder of the most epic thing any independent artist on the planet did last year. Maybe ever. Pretty rad.”

Canibus to release a song, featuring Eminem, produced by Dr. Dre

I know you don’t believe it too. I could not believe my eyes when I first saw this information in a closed Facebook group of Canibus but it seems official now.

Canibus will release his Eminem collaboration, described as “UNRELEASED SONG, not a blend, not a mix, not recycled nor ever heard before track,” produced by Dr. Dre as an NFT via his website.

On the website, we read: “At this session, the 4 Lucky Winners + all NFT customers will be the 1st to hear the CANIBUS NFT single featuring EMINEM and Produced by DR. DRE. Yes, this is an actual UNRELEASED SONG, not a blend, not a mix, not recycled nor ever heard before track with CANIBUS x EMINEM produced by Dr. Dre!!! As stated above, like the one of a kind WU-TANG CLAN album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”, this Unreleased Track will eventually be sold as an NFT exclusively to one buyer. Until that happens, CANINFT.COM raffle winner and all NFT customers from the site will be allowed to hear this monumental piece of history!”

It’s hard to believe because of Canibus and Eminem’s longtime beef that dates back to 1998, even before Eminem was signed to Dr. Dre. Em even mentions Canibus in one of his recent collaborations with Conway The Machine, on a track called “Bang” in which he raps: “Used to dream one day I’d be fuckin’ pink like a flamingo, that was back when I smoked Canibus, man, but it was tough, ’cause I was a fan of his so it sucked to hand him his a**.”

We are not sure when Canibus and Eminem recorded the track but it seems to be real.

“I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on. Not much has changed for me as an adult…I’ve attempted to re-create some of those collections from that time in my life, and I know I’m not alone.” said Eminem

Commented Ashley Ramos, Senior Producer at Nifty Gateway: “We’re thrilled to welcome Eminem to our platform. Demand for NFTs continues to grow and we’re excited to bring this collaboration to our community and give them access to new artwork and music on Nifty Gateway’s marketplace.”

BREAKING: Eminem is dropping NFT this Sunday!

Nifty Gateway has just announced that Eminem is dropping something this Sunday, that can be anything from demo track to a full audio, from a picture to a video, from snippet to a teaser, from merch to anything that can be sold digitally for NFT.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio and other types of digital files.

Many artists, including The Weeknd dropped new songs via NFT. We are not assuming that its a new track but the possibility is there!
