Israel Adesanya compared rematch with Alex Pereira to Eminem in “8 Mile”

Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira in the second round to avenge his lone loss in the UFC at middleweight, pulling off a surprise knockout victory to reclaim the title at UFC 287 in Miami.

Adesanya desired a speedy rematch after losing to Pereira in November cost him the 185-pound (84 kg) championship crown that he had held since 2019.

Before the fight, during the press conference, Israel Adesanya compared this fight to Eminem in the 8 Mile movie. He even used some lyrics his Oscar and Grammy-winning single “Lose Yourself.”

“I’m down two fights in kickboxing, one fight in MMA, so I’m down three, and this is like in every movie — your one shot. This is my Eminem moment, my ‘8 Mile‘ moment. You get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime, and this is it. This is it for me. Imagine what if I get it done!? What if I get it done better than he has ever done it. What if I butchered and beat the f–k out of him?!”

Andre Muniz walks out to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” at UFC 220

Brendan Allen made a big statement during main event at UFC Vegas 70 after third round win over Andre Muniz. Originally scheduled as the co-main event, the middleweights got the bump to the top of the card after Nikita Krylov suffered food poisoning that scrapped his matchup against Ryan Spann.

With a chance to shine under an even brighter spotlight, Allen made the most of his opportunity after displaying strong striking before eventually taking Muniz to the ground and wrapping up a rear-naked choke to finish the noted Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist.

The Eminem Curse is back as Andre Muniz walked out to Eminem’s Oscar and Grammy-winning song “Lose Yourself” and lost the fight. As you might know, there is a theory in UFC that MMA fighters who walk out to Eminem’s music lose more frequently. The theory bears similarities to other culture and sport curse crossovers including Drake with basketball and American football games across the pond.

Nate Diaz responds Conor McGregor trilogy with Eminem’s diss record

MMA fans know that Dana White and the UFC brass wants to see Conor McGregor in big fights but after losing to Dustin Poirier two times in 2021, The Irishman needs to get his career back on track.

Similarly, Nate Diaz has lost his two most recent fights, being dominated for nearly every second with the exception of rocking Leon Edwards in the 5th round of their June 2021 clash.

Still, both McGregor and Diaz are top-tier stars for the UFC. They have plenty of history with two tremendous and competitive fights in the past and have split the first two fights in their rivalry.

Nate responded to the rumors with a short twitter video, full of McGregor beating footages which features Eminem’s track “Girls,” the diss record towards Limp Bizkit from D12’s 2001 debut album “Devil’s Night.”

“Don’t forget what’s what u lil b**ches.” captioned Nate Diaz. You can watch the video below:

MMA fans react after Eminem shouts out Nate Diaz in a new song with Dr. Dre

Few days ago, new Dr. Dre and Eminem song titled “Gospel” was released through the DLC for GTA V: “Grand Theft Auto: The Contract” update.

In the song, Eminem shouts out one of the most iconic UFC fighters, Nate Diaz, with the following lines: “Nate Diaz got the world by the tracheas. In a chokehold and a sleeper (Snores) / Yeah, and me and Dre are like dog hair (Woof).”

Nate Diaz has always been an Eminem fan and even walked out on one of his songs couple of times. He is often seen rocking to the songs of Eminem, including the time he was preparing for his fight against Anthony Pettis.

MMA fans are very pleased after Nate finally gets recognition from Eminem. Check some of the reactions below:

Christian Edwards walks out to Eminem’s “Till I Collapse” & beats Simon Biyong at Bellator 261

IT’S IN. The first interim heavyweight champion in Bellator MMA history is Valentin Moldavsky.

With current champion Ryan Bader in the middle of the light heavyweight grand prix in hopes to once again become a simultaneous 2-division champion, the promotion moved forward with the interim title fight between Moldavsky and Timothy Johnson to headline Bellator 261 last Friday night at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The first fight of the night was between Christian Edwards and Simon Biyong. Edwards walked out to Eminem’s 2002 work-out hit song “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg and won the fight with unanimous decision. ‘Eminem curse‘ does not effect Christian Edwards!

‘The Eminem Curse’ in UFC continues!

There is a theory that MMA fighters who walk out to Eminem’s music lose more frequently.

Yesterday, Roque Martinez used Eminem’s “No Love,” featuring Lil Wayne song from his 2010 Recovery album as his walkout song against Josh Parisian and lost by a split decision.

A total of 203 results have been recorded since the first result was filed on Saturday 5th February, 2005, when Tito Ortiz walked out to Mosh by Eminem before defeating former light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort at UFC 51.

In 203 cases, 91 came out as a winner, 106 times they lost, 3 times it was a draw and 3 times no contest.

WATCH: Eminem appears to be taking shots at Dana White live on ESPN

Eminem has recently visited Sports Center on ESPN with Dana White and it seems the debate got little heated.

In the short video clip shared by former UFC fighter, current comedian and podcast host Brendan Schaub, it appears that Eminem is critiquing the UFC president: “Best part of your opinion is that it does not matter and if every fighter that you had listened your opinion when you doubted them you would not have f**king league.”
