Flavor Flav and ICE-T give shout out to Eminem

With the MTV Video Music Awards just couple of days away, the details are finally falling into place. Detroit icon Eminem will have an opening performance and founding member of Public Enemy, legendary Flavor Flav will be one of the presenters for the program.

After MTV made announcement about Eminem, Flavor Flav showed love to him on social media, saying: “Eminem is my favorite rapper,,, and he’s opening the VMAs,!!! We STAN on Wednesday,!!” Check out the tweet below.

This is not the first time Flav gave Eminem a shout out. Roosevelt, New York-born hip-hop artist has previously crowned Slim Shady as “the best rapper alive” and “The GOAT of hip-hop.” Earlier this year, during the interview with DJ Whoo Kid on Shade 45 radio, Flav said: “Eminem is my favorite rapper. Word up. And not only that, he still shouts Flavor Flav out in his records. Yeah boy! You know what? Check this out. I don’t care how they trying to color my man it don’t stop him from being number one. That’s all I got to say. And being number one don’t have no color. Word up man. Yeah, Eminem man! he’s the best rapper alive right now man! Can’t nobody beat him out. When you can’t be beat, that means you are the best. Let me tell you something. Back in the day, when Eminem, Snoop, Dre, they had this group together and this is when the first time Eminem seen me and when he seen me, he went ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. I didn’t know who he was at that time. I gave him mad love man. He went crazy over me and I gave mad love. Lets say like this, because a lot of those guys [Redman, LL Cool , Nas] are like mentors to Em. But then Em is like a mentor to them too. It’s all a mutual respect thing. That’s one thing I could say about Eminem. He has mad, mad respect from all of the legends in the rap game but he’s a legend himself. For real.”

Another rap legend who recently gave shout out to Eminem is ICE-T. During one of his shows in early 2010s, Eminem wore the t-shirt that had printed back cover of Ice-T’s second studio album, POWER. Ice shared the picture on Twitter with the caption: “Yep, the legendary Back cover.. RESPECT to Eminem.” Like Flav, the respect between Em and Ice is mutual and the two have given lots of shout outs to each other over the years. Check out the tweet below:

Ice-T shows love to Eminem, Eminem responds!

Ice-T has recently shown love to Eminem on Twitter. The legendary rapper shared a video, which was put together by Shadyverse fan account, of himself talking about fans disrespecting Eminem back in the days.

In the video, Ice says: “I was a fan of Eminem even before Dre signed him. Somebody brought me the tape and it’s him rapping about putting his girl in the trunk and driving off of the bridge. We went on the Wrapped Tour. And I remember white kids used to throw s–t at Eminem. They were really rude to Eminem early in the game. They were going in on him hard. He just kept knocking it out and he kept doing it and I’m like ‘this kid is going to blow up.’ Cause he was paying his dues. I never forget, I was talking to Em and I asked what you want out of this? He said, I just wanna be around like you and Dre. That’s all he wanted. Longevity. He f–king did that.” In the caption, he wrote: “Shout out to my guy @Eminem. True Story.”

Unexpectedly, because Eminem rarely uses social media, Slim Shady responded to Ice-T by twitting: “Ice, thanks for those memories legend!! Seems like just yesterday!! Love you bro!!

Ice T and Eminem has always shown mutual respect over the years. Eminem even appeared in Ice-T’s documentary called Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap back in 2012. Ice also called Eminem one of the greatest rappers in history before. You can check out Ice-T’s tweet and Eminem’s response in the video below:

Ice-T shows respect to Eminem

Iconic hip-hop artist Ice-T has recently released the music video of “The Hanging,” the final installment of the “Feds” trilogy.

The legendary west coast emcee started this cinematic trilogy back in 2019. Part 1 and Part 2, “Too Old For Dumb S–t” and “Feds In My Rearview,” featured his wife Coco and their 7-year-old daughter, Chanel Nicole.

The Grammy-winning rapper announced the release of “The Hanging” on his social media accounts with the caption: VIDEO PREMIER ‘THE HANGING’. The long awaited 3rd part of the ‘Feds In My Rearview’ TRILOGY. ‘The Hanging’ from the Legend of ICE T ‘Crime Stories’ Triple Vinyl. Music by @RingleDJAce Video @JayScorsese Art @TommyTheAnimatr.”

Ice-T says he once gave Eminem an advice that he follows to this day

Every weekday the legendary hip-hop artist Ice-T breaks down an inspirational quote on his new Daily Game podcast. In the latest episode, the rap icon explains how being on top of your game and being humble are not mutually exclusive and mentions Eminem during the process.

“I’ve always said that in Rap we like to brag a lot. We like to say I’m this, I’m that. But in real life, all this compliments can’t come from you. The person that says I’m this I’m that is usually saying it cause nobody else is saying it. The greatest compliments are coming from people behind your back. When you are not in the room and they say ‘yo Ice is cool guy, Ice is that, Ice is this.’ What people say to your face is less important than what they say behind your back.” said Ice-T.

Then he continues: “I remember when I met Eminem. And I asked him what he wanted out of the game. And he said, all I wanna do is be around like you and Dre and my comment with him was ‘be a beast on the mic and be humble in real life’ and I think he followed that advice. Because, if you can rap like him, you don’t need to tell people you are great rapper. You show it and you prove it. So you could be dope and in real life you don’t have to be walking around telling people who you are, that’s corny. Let them say it!”

It looks like Eminem really followed Ice-T’s priceless advice cause every artist who ever worked with Slim Shady emphasize how humble nature the Detroit legend has.

Eminem is making his idols really proud. This year alone, Marshall Mathers gets nominated for Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and he is about to perform at Super Bowl Halftime show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.

Slim Shady received enormous support for Rock Hall nomination from his peers, including Royce Da 5’9″, Busta Rhymes and Kxng Crooked.

It seems Ice-T feels the same way as the legendary rapper once again showed his appreciation to Eminem on Twitter: “Proud of Eminem. Been down with him from the very start.” – wrote the hip-hop icon in the caption while retweeting a picture of himself and Eminem.

Ice-T shows love to Eminem

When the topic of hip-hop legends are discussed, Ice-T is a name that gets overlooked all too often. The legendary emcee likely influenced your favorite rapper at one time or another, including Eminem.

There has been mutual respect between these two rappers for decades now and it continues so as one of the hip-hop OGs has posted an Eminem picture wearing a t-shirt with “The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech… Just Watch What You Say!” album cover on it.

Ice-T captioned: “Another long time friend. Eminem rocking that ICEBERG shirt.. Respect!”

Couple of days ago, Eminem and his record label Shady Records announced the new signee, East Atlanta rapper, named GRIP.

GRIP shared a picture of himself in the studio with Eminem on social media. In the picture Eminem was wearing a t-shirt with Ice T’s “Rhyme Syndicate Coming Through” album cover on it which was correctly spotted by Kxng Crooked:

Ice-T shares his reaction after hearing Eminem for the first time

Ice-T has recently sat down with ‘SILICON BEACH with Jon V‘ podcast for a new interview where the legendary rapper revealed his reaction to hearing Eminem for the first time.

It is very very hard to get my attention as far as music. I am very into unique stuff and unfortunately most people are just replicating repeating something they heard. It is nothing new, I want to get my mind blown. I remember when I first heard Eminem, somebody gave to me a tape. And I am like ‘This crazy white boy is singing about putting his girl in a trunk, what the f**k is this.’ And the fact that he could really rap and that he was a white kid, that was dope.

Now there are a lot of white kids rapping so now it is like okay well you kind of sound like Eminem, yeah but he was like one of the early ones. Eminem’s style was different and it was unique and he turned out to be a star. So if you want to be original, look and see what everyone else is doing and do not do that. But that is difficult for people. You have to have the courage to be yourself but real people only respect real people.” said Ice T

Legendary Ice T says the last real gangsta rapper was 50 Cent

Back in 2009, in one of his interviews, legendary rapper Ice-T said: “I opened the door for Gangsta rap and 50 Cent closed it.” It does not look as if he has changed his mind after 11 years because in an interview with Unique Access Ent, Ice said almost the same thing.

“To me, the last gangster rapper was 50 Cent, because to me, he embodied that image. You know, that ‘I don’t give a f**k. 50 Cent had you really believe you did not wanna f**k with him. I heard 50 Cent when he was beefing with Fat Joe and he was like, ‘Fat Joe, I am right down the street. It is real hard to find a ni**a when you know he got a gun, ain’t it. I was like, ‘Okay!’ [laughs].”

“I think now, the new trap rappers, you know, they convince me they can get high, they convinced me maybe that they can sell a little drugs, but they do not scare me. I think if you a Gangsta rapper, you scare me a little bit. I do not think there is no new people that do it.”

“Well you got Kendrick who keeps a nice little hood edge on his s**t. You know he is from Compton, you know he is from the hood. And when I say 50 Cent, I also put The Game in that conversation because Game is apart of G-Unit, but once that movement happened, I do not know. They do the Drill rap out of Chicago and stuff like that, youngsters and stuff, but I do not know. That is just from me.”

“YG is cool but that’s not it. We scared the world so quickly, but then when Eminem did it they were like, ‘Okay,'” Now, people are kind of conditioned. It’s not like when Ice Cube came out and said, ‘Crazy motherf*cker named—,’ what the f**k?! Who are these motherf*ckers, like yo! Now, everybody is like, ‘Okay. Cool. you are gonna Crip walk and dance and s**t.’ It’s not as threatening now.” says the rap icon, Ice T.
