50 Cent has recently sat down with Big Boy for the interview where he talked about his new Las Vegas Residency, his new 50 Cent Action TV Channel, Mike Tyson fight Snoop Dogg at Olympics, Snoop’s new album Missionary, his investment in Shreveport, Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl, Kendrick vs Drake, celebrity scandals, new accusations against Jay Z, his feelings about Diddy and his case, Drake’s music lawsuit, Fat Joe at World Series, Donald Trump 2024 win and Trump using his song Many Men at the rallies.
50 Cent also briefly spoke about “8 Mile” TV show about Eminem, that he announced couple of years ago: “Yeah, we are working on the television. It’s going pretty good. It gets difficult at points because they are so used to having entire control of projects. When you gotta deal with networks and other forces involved, you get little, you know…” Fif said.
“I got a few things [about new music]. I got a piece coming out with Snoop and Em on Snoop’s new album. It’s dope dope!” – 50 Cent added. You can watch the interview below:
50 Cent has also recently performed “P.I.M.P” and “Many Men” at Jimmy Kimmel Live, you can watch the performance below.
Mekhi Phifer, who played Future in Eminem‘s ‘8 Mile’ movie, has recently joined Rich Eisen on his show where he dished the dirt on making ‘8 Mile’, his time on ‘ER,’ and landing his first-ever role in Spike Lee’s ‘Clockers’ in a round of ‘Celebrity True or False.’
“Yes, I almost turned down the role in 8 Mile because of ER TV show. To my agent I turned it down. And then they were like ‘no, you are not turning this down’ because I was due to start ER. ER was already a mega show. I was joining at the end of season 8, last couple of episodes and I really wanted to play a doctor. ER had all them Golden Globes, the Emmys and 9/11 had just happened. So, people were scared to fly. I’m New Yorker, I saw what happened to the towers. I did know Curtis Hansen work, LA Confidential and Wonder Boys and all of that, great great great director, rest in peace.” said Mekhi Phifer.
Then he continued: “They flew my out to Detroit and I met with Eminem. We spent few days together and chopped it up. It was great. We hit it off immediately. I saw how serious he was. They could not give me the script. I had to read the script in Curtis’ office because they were being so hush hush about it. I loved it. But it was not what you see on the screen. I knew I could bring some nuance to it and something different, certain energy and certain spirit so…Then ER’s John Wells said go do the movie and soon as you finish the movie, you come and start ER. I rep the movie and the week later I was on ER set. I’m glad I did it. I mean, Eminem threw my name in the song and won an Oscar. It was the most popular downloaded songs ever. ”
“I was surprised when he included my name in ‘Lose Yourself.’ We were shooting one day. Eminem had three trailers. He had one trailer to sleep and stuff like that. He had a studio trailer because he was doing his album and the soundtrack at the same time. And he had a gym trailer to work out. And around two in the morning, we are shooting one night and he came back to the set and said ‘Yo, Mekhi, after this take I wanna take you to the studio. I want to put your name in the song. We all went to the trailer and he played the song and it was raw. It was not mastered or mixed. We got to the party like ‘there’s no movie, there is no Mekhi Phifer’ and everybody erupted. I didn’t know it was gonna be…I didn’t know 8 Mile was gonna be 8 Mile. And I didn’t know the song was gonna be as impactful.”
“He told me if I put your name on a song, is that cool? I said ‘hell yeah! that’s cool!’ because back then Eminem was crushing people with…you know, he was killing people if he put your name in the song, usually it’s not good. It ends your career. He smack you around with his lyrics. So, I was very proud of that and very appreciative of him making me a part of that in a bigger way than was initially it was gonna be.”
“My stuff during battle scenes were totally ad-lib. All of the stuff that I said on stage cause that was not on the script. All of my instructions to the rappers, all of my audience participation, all of that was ad-lib. They wrote their rhymes because they had to have rhymes written because of continuity. But my stuff was totally ad-lib. ‘DJ, spin that s–t!’ all that stuff was ad-lib and the reason I said ‘DJ, spin that’ is because I forgot the guys name [laughs]. I don’t remember his name but he was a very good DJ. Shout out to Detroit, I’m sure he’s favorite in Detroit.” Mekhi Phifer added.
The cult masterpiece film 8 Mile’s legacy won’t be altered, according to Paul Rosenberg.
Rosenberg, Eminem’s longtime manager and business partner, claims that the Detroit legend’s critically acclaimed movie “8 Mile” won’t have a follow-up. The original movie was released back in 2002 and went to win the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Original Song with “Lose Yourself.”
The rumors of 8 Mile sequel have been circulation on social media in the past few days. Paul Rosenberg, who was a co-founder and former president of Shady Records, clarified the situation on social media on Friday.
“Just wanna clear this up. There is no 8 Mile sequel. It does not and won’t exist,” he wrote. Users had mixed responses to the news. One wrote: “That’s good. Some movies are already unique. Don’t need a sequel. Except for an album called Relapse…” Another noted: “Thank you, we don’t want that. We want The TV Show, Based off 8-Mile,” they said.
We might not be getting the sequel of 8 Mile but 50 previewed the idea of creating 8 Mile TV series back in January while appearing on Big Boy’s Neighborhood. He said the show will further Eminem’s “legacy.”
He most recently discussed the project during an interview with Men’s Health. “This s–t is expected to be just as big as the feature film, just huge, it’ll be huge. The interest in it is because the time period that 8 Mile was capturing further back, so as we move it into modern times you’ll see things about how we function now, how technology changed the way people enter the music business.”

Jerome Kapp, an undrafted rookie wide receiver with the New York Jets, rose to fame after giving the renowned “8 Mile” freestyle by Eminem during the rookie talent competition, which was aired on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
And it seems Eminem absolutely loved it.
It’s very rare to see Eminem posting on social media but the original “B Rabbit” gave Kapp, who looked just like Eminem in the film with his hood pulled over a beanie, a salute on Twitter.
Slim Shady posted a simple salute emoji while tagging Kapp, HBO and the NFL above the full video of Kapp’s rapping performance, where he recited Eminem freestyle against Papa Doc word for word.
50 Cent promises that his 8 Mile TV series will be as big as Eminem’s 2002 feature film.
Fif first announced the project back in January, 2023 telling Big Boy’s Neighborhood that he hopes the series will help further Slim Shady’s already untouchable “legacy.”
“We in motion. It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.” Fif said at that time.
50 Cent shed more light on the TV show in a recent interview with Men’s Health this week, noting that his 8 Mile reboot is on track to be just as big as the 2002 movie, starring Eminem.
“I’m developing the 8 Mile film into a series. So this s–t is expected to be just as big as the feature film, just huge. It’ll be huge. The interest in it is because the time period of 8 Mile was capturing per the bat, so as we move it into modern times you’ll see things about how we function now, how technology changed the way people enter the music business.”
Then he continued: “This is why you don’t see groups in the music business. You see so many individual artists because there’s no artist development. They used to take time, find Justin Timberlake over here, this guy from over here, bring this guy then we got NSYNC. Then we got Backstreet [Boys], then we got all of these cool boy bands because you put all of that talent into one show.”

Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira in the second round to avenge his lone loss in the UFC at middleweight, pulling off a surprise knockout victory to reclaim the title at UFC 287 in Miami.
Adesanya desired a speedy rematch after losing to Pereira in November cost him the 185-pound (84 kg) championship crown that he had held since 2019.
Before the fight, during the press conference, Israel Adesanya compared this fight to Eminem in the 8 Mile movie. He even used some lyrics his Oscar and Grammy-winning single “Lose Yourself.”
“I’m down two fights in kickboxing, one fight in MMA, so I’m down three, and this is like in every movie — your one shot. This is my Eminem moment, my ‘8 Mile‘ moment. You get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime, and this is it. This is it for me. Imagine what if I get it done!? What if I get it done better than he has ever done it. What if I butchered and beat the f–k out of him?!”
In the latest episode of STORY TIME, Logic revealed that his new album titled College Park kind of takes inspiration from Eminem‘s 2002 blockbuster film, 8 Mile.
“My album College Park takes place in 2011, with me and all my homies on our way to Open Mic Night in Washington DC, in the shenanigans that we get in along the way.” said Logic.
Then he continues: “It’s like 8 Mile, expect it’s an album, expect it’s not B-Rabbit, it’s B-Racial. It’s a good album and I think you guys are really going to like it.”
Released on February 24, 2023, College Park boasts guest appearances from Joey Bada$$, Bun B, Redman, Norah Jones, Statik Selektah and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, among others.
The project marked Logic’s first independent album after parting ways with Def Jam back in 2022. In the United States, the album debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 charts, selling 17,884 copies in its first week of release.
Up next, the Maryland rapper is hitting the road alongside Juicy J as part of the College Park Tour, which kicks off in Madison, Wisconsin on May 25, 2023. The two will hit twenty two cities across North America that include Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles — before wrapping things up in Phoenix, Arizona on June 30, 2023.
Mekhi Phifer has recently sat down on Cruz Show to talk about his Apple TV+ show called “Truth Be Told.” He also spoke about having an unfinished album from the 90’s, almost passing on 8 Mile role and more, Plus, Lechero also tells a hilarious story about how Mekhi helped him get some action.
At one point during the interview, Mekhi Phifer was asked to recall never before heard story about Eminem’s box-office topping movie 8 Mile. “When we did 8 Mile, that was back in 2001, when we were shooting and it was released in 2002,” he said. “When we shot it, we were all single men, Eminem was at height of his career, we are shooting in Detroit, in his hometown, he was the biggest rapper at that time. Period. And we had fun in Detroit. I’m not going into detail. I don’t need to. But the thing is, we had a great time. Camaraderie was real.”
Then he continues: “I’ll tell you quick story. I initially turned down 8 Mile. Because, my agency man called me like ‘look, Curtis Hanson is directing this movie 8 Mile.’ I love Curtis Hanson. He done L.A. Confidential, Wonder Boys, excellent director. And they said ‘yes, the movie with Eminem.’ I said ‘c’mon man, now you playing games.’ Because I loved his music but I never seen him act before. I think all I saw was The Wash movie where he had a quick cameo.”
“They would not release the script. It was hush-hush. So my agency convinced me ‘please just go Curtis’ office and read the script. I read the script and loved it. I was like ‘this is actually really freaking good.’ Then they flew me to Detroit. I hang out with Eminem for few days and we just hit it off. I didn’t know he was a fan of me. I was fan of his too. I saw how serious he was about really putting together something really nice and I camaraderie because I’m basically loosely playing Proof. That’s why I had those crazy dreads. Because when Proof was hosting those battles in 1995, he had those dreads. They offered me the role. I went down and we had month of rehearsal. By the time we started shooting, I knew the whole script. There was nothing to really study. So, it was party time. And we were at our 20s, forget it… It was going down!”
Freeway has recently sat down with VLAD TV where North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-born rapper talked about jumping on a track “8 Miles and Runin'” with Jay-Z for Eminem’s 8 Mile: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture album.
“I remember when Jay put me on that joint. I came to studio and he was like ‘I got something for you, come here.’ He put the beat on and he’s like ‘yeah this is for 8 Mile soundtracks for Eminem’ and told me to put the verse on it. I’m in there, taking my time. I didn’t know if Eminem’s gonna be on the record, I just knew what he told me. So, I’m like, I gotta take time for this joint. So I’m in there, probably working like an hour and then Jay comes in the room like ‘do you need weed man, what’s wrong with you, what it taking you so long?'” said Freeway.
Then he continues: “And then I finished that joint up. Got it done and he actually brought me some weed too because he must have thought I was sleeping a little bit. I actually wanted to take a time with it because I knew it was going to be a special joint. It’s a blessing to be on there.”
“One thing about big hommie [Jay-Z], he always gave us fair shot and that was a fair shot for me to take off.” he added.
You can watch the interview below and listen to the song after the jump below:
“8 Miles And Runin'” is an Eminem-produced song by Jay-Z, featuring Roc-A-Fella Records-signed rapper Freeway, from 8 Mile soundtracks album. In the song, Hov reminisces the times when he was broke and how people act have changed since then. The name of the song “8 Miles And Runnin’” is a reference to the N.W.A song “100 Miles And Runnin’”.
Couple of days ago, TMZ caught up with the “8 Mile” star Mekhi Phifer where the Hollywood star turned down the possibility of Eminem shooting “8 Mile 2” movie but it seems 50 Cent is already working on the 8 Mile TV Series about Eminem’s legendary career.
“Second part? Sometimes it’s best to leave at one. Sometimes it’s best to leave it alone, once you make a classic, there is no reason to fool around with it. There has not been any conversations about it and it might never happen. Leave the classic alone and it will all be good. Just live with the 8 Mile. It might be interesting what happened next but the story that we told it was all good. I would not be in it. I’m sure Eminem would be in it either.” said Mekhi Phifer.
Today 50 Cent dropped by the neighborhood to speak with Big Boy about Black Mafia Family Season 2, touring 36 countries, and surpassing 1.8 billion views in 2022. “I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television. And Em knows it. It’s gonna be big. I’m working on it. I ain’t got no does. I’m betting one hundred. It should be there for his legacy. It’s important to me that they understand it. It’s a modern version of Em, think about Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Like a modern version of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I wanna be able to show and offer a lot more details. I’mma do Snoop Dogg story too.” said 50 Cent during the 40-minutes interview.
