Big Daddy Kane reveals few things Eminem talks about in his upcoming Netflix documentary

In a recent interview with AllHipHop magazine, Big Daddy Kane provided an update on his forthcoming Netflix documentary, titled Paragraphs I Manifest, which boasts several high-profile interviews with everyone from Eminem and Jay-Z to J. Cole and Common.

“We’re in the editing stages right now. And hopefully, we’ll be finished within the next two months. That’s what I’m praying for, you know, because I really feel that it’s important to get this out as Hip-Hop is celebrating 50 years.” says Big Daddy Kane.

Then he continues: “The most rewarding part of this experience is hearing different artists’ perspectives. To sit with someone like Common, who I respect as a great lyricist and is someone with a unique flow other than the norm and representing a city other than New York, to hear his influences and his thought process, things of that nature. To hear Eminem talk about losing a rap battle. To hear him talking about what motivated him to write a song, who he listened to and studied, stuff like that.”

“The biggest thing I learned was something Eminem said, because I never really thought about it. When I am writing and I am doing what I do, I am just in my zone. I am listening to him talk, but as I am listening to him, I am trying to think who did it before me, and I actually could not come up with no one. I was just sitting there really blown away.”

“When we left, I actually went listening to different artists that had songs out before me to see if anyone else did that in their writing style, and I did not find no one. I am not saying that I am the first,  am just saying that so far I have not found anyone. It was crazy.” Big Daddy Kane added.

Eminem narrates “Be Like Mike” new campaign by Gatorade

Thanks to Gatorade, a week filled with journeys down memory lane comes to a satisfying conclusion. Eminem serves as emcee, and his 2010 track “Won’t Back Down,” featuring P!nk from Recovery album bubbles up, too. But the Detroit legend’s participation is just one nostalgic element of a :30 from the PepsiCo brand.

We’re also treated to way-back commercial footage of Michael Jordan — with the “Be Like Mike” jingle reverberating from more than 30 years ago to rock our brainpans.

Titled “The Way to Be Great,” and developed with TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A., the spot serves as a bridge between generations, a merging of past, present and future. Clips of sports legends in their prime segue into footage of contemporary athletes. Along with M.J., Serena Williams and Lionel Messi appear, plus Jayson Tatum, Elena Delle Donne, Sydney McLaughlin and more.

“We know our brand has everything athletes need to fuel Greatness. We have fueled the greatest athletes of all time over the last 60 years, and ‘The Way to Be Great’ is an anthemic campaign meant to bring to life what greatness has been, and what greatness looks like in the future.” – says Anuj Bhasin, chief brand officer at Gatorade.

In the Gatorade video, Eminem says: “You wanna be like greats? First, believe yo are. Greatness requires drip. Not like that, like this! The Greats are not afraid to fail. They fuel by it. Trophies require greatness but greatness does not require trophies because greatness is not about what you have done, it’s about what you do next!”

Kendrick Lamar channels Eminem with Primavera performance in Barcelona

Kendrick Lamar just channeled Eminem with a clone-filled performance at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona over this weekend.

K. Dot headlined the Spanish festival on Friday night with the help from his cousin Baby Keem and a bunch of Kendrick lookalikes who danced around the stage as the duo performed the song “Savior.”

Of course, fans had plenty to say about the clones closing out the show as footage of the performance went viral.
“The tiktok conspiracy theorists are about to have a field day with this one,” one person commented on Kendrick fan page on Instagram, while another said: If you’re the real KDot please stand up, referencing Eminem’s iconic single The Real Slim Shady.

Kendrick’s performance may have been a nod to Eminem’s iconic performance at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, where he was followed around by dozens of bleach-blond doppelgängers inside New York City’s Radio City Music Hall while performing “The Real Slim Shady,” off The Marshall Mathers LP album.

K. Dot has made no secret of the fact that the Detroit rap icon is one of his biggest influences, speaking with GQ magazine back in 2016, Kendrick said: “I got my clarity just studying Eminem when I was a kid. The day I heard The Marshall Mathers LP, I was just like, How does that work? What is he doing? How is he putting his words together like that? And then I was like Why don’t you go in the studio and see? So I do that. Then it became, How are his words cutting through the beat like that? What is he doing that I’m not doing. His time is impeccable. When he wants to fall off the beat, it’s impeccable. These are things that, through experience and time, I had to learn.”

What do you think, was Kendrick Lamar performance inspired by Eminem? Check out the video below and let us know your thoughts in the comment sections of our social media accounts.

Eminem to tour in Australia this year!

According to Daily Mail, Eminem is preparing for the Australia tour later this year.

On Tuesday, an unidentified caller claimed to have heard about the great news from a source at Ticketek Australia on 104.7 Triple M. The caller claimed that Eminem would perform at Adelaide Oval, which has the capacity about 53,000 people.

“I heard a big name is coming to town at the end of the year and it’s Eminem.. a friend of a friend let it slip from Ticketek. They are currently working with Adelaide Oval to sort out a venue.” – the caller claimed.

The last time Slim Shady toured Australia was back in 2019 when he performed in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane as a part of his Rapture Tour. For more details, visit Daily Mail here.

Damizza recalls how Eminem’s “My Name Is” broke out on West Coast radio stations

American radio executive, record producer, artist and author Damizza has recently sat down with Mr. Criminal where he recalled the stories about Mariah Carey, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg and much more.

Damizza was ranked by The Source Magazine as one of the five most powerful people in Hip Hop in 1999, with his ties to radio as the senior director of programming and artist relations at Power 106 in Los Angeles.

During the new interview, Damizza told the untold story of how Eminem’s “My Name Is” first aired on west coast radio stations.

“I almost got fired so many times it was stupid. When Dr. Dre called me and invited me at his house he said ‘I need some advice’ I was like ‘DR. DRE CALLED ME FOR ADVICE? WHAT THE HELL!’. I showed up and he points to Eminem in the booth and says ‘how do I break the white boy?’ And I’m like ‘Dude, you tell me the story of N.W.A. from beginning to end and I’ll break the white boy for you.” Damizza said.

Then he continues: “I sat on his washer and dryer, he sat on his little stairs from like midnight to 6 a.m. he told me whole story of N.W.A. and Eminem comes out about six o’clock in the morning from the studio tired of waiting and he looks over and says ‘I’m going home’ and I said ‘No, you are not, you are going Baker Boy’s show on Power 106. You are going to announce that you are doing Friday Night Flavors 10th year anniversary. Give me that record, Hi My Name Is.”

“My boss said ‘put that white boy on stage and you are fired! Dr. Dre is over! That white boy…have not you heard of Vanilla Ice!?’ and all that kind of stuff. Everybody was looking at me like ‘are you really going to put white boy on stage? You crazy?’ I said ‘It’s Dr. Dre’s new artist.’ They all looked at me so before I knew it everybody’s on side of the stage. I’m there with Coolio, rest in peace, all of these guys are there and watching. Eminem got through the first part of that song ‘F–k You’ and that place went to s–t!”

“I walked in the office next morning. I literally had a box and I was putting my s–t in the box thinking I’m getting fired and then my boss came in and she was like ‘you are lucky that white boy killed it, bring me the record.’ And then we played Hi My Name Is. That’s how Eminem got started.” Damizza added.

BlocBoy JB says he’s on Eminem’s level

BlocBoy JB says that he is one of the “best rappers in the world,” along with Eminem, J. Cole and Drake. The Memphis, Tennessee-born rapper, who is best known for “Look Alive” with Drake and “Rover 2.0” with 21 Savage, made the claim in a post on his Instagram Story.

I’m One Of The Best Rappers In The World Y’all Just sleep. Bar 4 Bar only ni–a up der wit me is @eminem @champagnepapi @realcoleworld.” he wrote over a black screen.

The story was reshared by DJ Akademiks on Instagram and the fans madly disagreed with BlocBoy. “I’ve never seen clout chasing like this before bro is really going out sad = HE BROKE,” one user wrote. Another commented: “I know a ni–a from down the st with more bars then this ni–a.” Others in disagreement still defended BlocBoy from criticism: “I ain’t even mad at bro.. That’s how you’re suppose to feel about your music.”

Millyz says he’s best white rapper since Eminem, calls MGK garbage & kicks Yelawolf out of list

Last year, during an interview with VLAD TV, Jadakiss protégé Millyz declared himself the best white rapper since Eminem, called Machine Gun Kelly garbage and kicked out Yelawolf from the list for worshiping the Confederate Flag.

“In reality, I’m the best white rapper since Eminem. As far as just high level rap. If you really know rap there is no f–king way around it. Other than that, you are bias.”

“So, Eminem, me, Paul Wall. Who are some other white rappers? I like Yelawolf but his Confederate Flag and all that corny s–t he’s doing kicks him out of the category. MGK is garbage! Cause he can’t rap. But he got a good rock star image but he’s not nice though.”

Since then, ‘Best White Rapper’ has been a hot topic. Most recently, Jack Harlow made the claim for the title: “The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters / And hold the comments ’cause I promise you I’m honestly better than whoever came to your head right then.” he raps on a song “They Don’t Love It.” from Jackman album.

R.A. the Rugged Man responded Jack Harlow’s statement on social media, saying: “I never talked that “I’m the best white rapper” bulls–t. I’m coming for everybody’s head. No nationality is safe.” he tweeted.

Machine Gun Kelly also threw a little jab at Harlow on Eminem-produced beat “Renegade” freestyle: “I see why they call you Jackman. You jacked man’s whole swag, give Drake his flow back, man.”
