Eminem Was Supposed to Be on Rapsody’s New Album

DJ Hed recently sat down with acclaimed MC Rapsody for an in-depth conversation centered around her highly anticipated new album, God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops. During their interview, the duo discussed the project’s creative direction, core themes, and the guest lineup shaping the project.

One of the key tracks on the album is “Abandon Me,” which features Eminem‘s close friend and longtime collaborator, Denaun Porter. Given the close ties between Denaun and the Shady Records head, fans naturally wondered if Slim Shady himself was ever considered for the track.

Addressing those rumors, Rapsody revealed that Eminem was indeed on her radar for the song, though strict release timing ultimately prevented it from happening. She explained: “For “Abandon Me,” we wanted to play it for Eminem but I had a hard deadline, I wanted it to come out this summer, so missed the deadline.”

While a direct collaboration between the two lyricists will have to wait, Denaun Porter’s involvement still bridges their musical worlds, making “Abandon Me” a standout centerpiece on God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops.
