Jessie Reyez Explains How Eminem’s Daughter Hailie Got Them in the Studio Posted on June 22, 2026June 22, 2026 By Remy Gelenidze In a recent appearance on The Tom Green Farm podcast, singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez opened up about the unexpected way she ended up collaborating with rap legend Eminem. While Slim Shady initially noticed her on his own, it was actually his daughter, Hailie Jade, who gave the ultimate push to make the musical partnership happen. Advertisement According to Reyez, the initial spark happened after a televised performance, though it didn’t instantly lead to a studio session. “He saw me performing on a nighttime television show on TV, I was doing the song I have called ‘Gatekeeper.’ And then fast forward to a few months, he was like ‘oh that’s cool’ but that’s kind of where it ended,” Reyez explained during the podcast interview. Advertisement Fortunately, the track stayed on the family’s radar thanks to Hailie, who recognized Reyez’s undeniable talent and urged her father to take action. “And then a few months later his daughter [Hailie] put it in front of him again and was like ‘you should reach out Jessie.’ That sh-t’s poppin’. And then their team reached out to ours and we got into the studio and then we started making music,” Reyez shared.That critical assist from Hailie paved the way for a wildly successful creative relationship. Reyez and Eminem would go on to collaborate on multiple tracks, including “Good Guy” and “Nice Guy” from his 2018 album Kamikaze, as well as “Coffin” from her 2020 debut album Before Love Came to Kill Us, proving that Hailie definitely has an ear for hit records.
