Eminem has unleashed another trailer, teasing the new The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) centered around killing off his alter ego while tapping into the viral “HAWK TUAH.” trend by Haliey Welch.
The gloomy clip features Slim Shady’s tombstone on a rainy night. The gravestone is inscribed with “Beloved Antagonist Slim Shady 1997-2024 It Feels So Empty Without Him” in an homage to lyrics from his 2002 hit “Without Me.” A person walking by the tombstone hawks a loogie on the tombstone. Then seconds later, a battered and bruised arm emerges from the dirt, signaling a possible Slim Shady revival.
“It feels so empty without him” HAWK TUAH #TheDeathOfSlimShady 7/12,” Em captioned the graveyard trailer on social media. Fans found it hilarious that the Detroit legend was plugged into the trending topic. “Eminem saying Hawk Tuah was not in my 2024 agenda,” one person tweeted. Another replied in shock, “EMINEM JUST SAID HAWK TUAH AINT NO WAY.”
For those unfamiliar, per The Cut, the now famous Hawk Tuah Girl is named Hailey Welch. She went viral in June when asked in a Nashville street0-side interview about moves that make guys “go crazy” in bed, and she replied with the intimate spitting noise. “You gotta give them that hawk tuah and spit on that thing,” Welch said. “Ya get me?”
Few minutes after posting the trailer on Instagram, Hailey Welch commented under the post: “All hail the king. No one spits like Shady.” It’s a double entendre by Welch 🙂 “No one spits like Shady” means “No one raps like Shady” and it also refers to actual Hawk Tuah spitting :). Check the screenshot below:
Eminem’s 12th solo studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is just a couple of days away, and Shady has unleashed another trailer on Wednesday (July 10, 2024) teasing the new LP centered around killing off his alter ego while tapping into the viral “HAWK TUAH.” trend.

Eminem has revealed the tracklist for his highly anticipated 12th solo studio album, “The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” which will be released this Friday (July 12, 2024). Yesterday, the Detroit legend unveiled the cover art for the album which sees Slim Shady’s head poking out of a body bag.
Two days ahead of the album’s release on Friday, Apple Music and other streaming platforms have revealed the tracklist for the upcoming album. The tracklist includes 19 tracks with 3 skits. Notably, the album will include a sequel to “Guilty Conscience” and will presumably feature Dr. Dre after the legendary rapper and producer confirmed earlier this year that he was working with Eminem on the record. Another possibility is that it’s produced by Dr. Dre and features Ez Mil, the latest Shady Records signee.

NOTE 1: Those who preordered the album from Eminem’s website also includes TWO bonus tracks. Birds say 2 Chainz is featured in one of them.
Ahead of the new album, Em most recently released the record’s second single, ‘Tobey’, featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. It debuted at No. 95 on Billboard Hot 100 with 2 days of tracking. It follows on from ‘Houdini’, which was released on May 31 and interpolates a number of Eminem’s previous hits as well as ‘Abracadabra’ by the Steve Miller Band. The song garnered controversy as it references the shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, as well as the transgender community, cancel culture, and RuPaul.
The lead single from the album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated June 15, becoming his highest charting hit since his No. 1 Rihanna collab “The Monster” in 2013-2014. The track is also Em’s 23rd top 10. “Houdini” pulled out an even bigger trick on the global charts, arriving at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. It’s his first chart-topper on both tallies, which kicked off in September 2020.
Billboard has accidently revealed the release date of Eminem ‘s upcoming 12th solo studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) while covering Slim Shady’s electrifying performance at Michigan Central Station on June 6, 2024.
“Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central” brought out the hometown hero likes of Eminem (who co-executive produced the concert with his manager, Paul Rosenberg), and who made the crowd go nuts when he hopped on stage for a surprise four-song mini-set that included the live debut of his new single, “Houdini” and a collaboration with Jelly Roll.
Diana Ross, Jack White, Big Sean, Slum Village and gospel greats the Clark Sisters and Kierra Sheard were also on hand to celebrate the refurbished Michigan Central. The former railroad station in the city’s southwest side had been shuttered since 1988 and became what Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan called “a symbol of our decline” as it fell into disrepair. The Ford Motor Co. purchased the building in 2018, spending a reported $940 million to turn it into a center for advanced technological development in transportation and other fields.
The show itself — which was streamed on Peacock and will be edited into a one-hour NBC special at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday (June 9) — was a nearly two-hour party celebrating the city and its musical heritage, but with a global perspective. “We’ve been invested in trying to rebrand the image of the city and how people see it for a long time,” Rosenberg, who worked in conjunction with Jesse Collins Entertainment, explained to Billboard prior to the show. “The challenge was, ‘What kind of picture can we paint here that’s going to be interesting not just locally but nationally?’ We wanted to make a compelling program that’s going to interest people across the country, not just people who are familiar with Detroit.
Rosenberg added that he and Eminem used the adage “as goes Detroit, so goes the nation” — from a 1942 Arthur Pond essay in The Atlantic — “as a framework… all these ideas about how the city is viewed not just locally but nationally to help frame the program.”
While Billboard covered all these up, they accidently (or mistakenly) revealed the release date of Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). In one of the paragraphs, we read: “And while Eminem — who filmed parts of the video for his 2009 single “Beautiful” in the then-abandoned Michigan Central — was not billed as a performer when the show was announced, it surprised few that he closed the evening. Joined by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra the hoodied rapper presented the live debut of “Houdini,” the just-released first single from his upcoming The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) album (July 5), then “Sing For the Moment” with Jelly Roll, “Welcome 2 Detroit” with Trick Trick and a bombastic “Not Afraid,” which was followed by a short show-ending fireworks display. But later, the biggest music industry magazine removed the date from their article, but fans kept the screenshot, which you can check below and read the full article on Billboard here.
A @Billboard article from June 7, covering #Eminem‘s performance at Michigan Central, may have just dropped a bombshell. It seems they’ve let slip the release date for “The Death of Slim Shady.” If the whispers are true, mark your calendars for July 5th. #thedeathofslimshadypic.twitter.com/B4IT6EpjTk

Eminem ‘s new single “Houdini” has just arrived, and with it a music video that’s chock full of celebrity cameos from Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, comedians Shane Gillis and Pete Davidson, his Shady Records artists GRIP, Westside Boogie, Ez Mil, Denaun Porter, Royce 5’9″ among others.
The music video, like the song, is a throwback to Eminem’s 2002 hit “Without Me,” the first single released off of his blockbuster album “The Eminem Show.” The song reprises the “guess who’s back” intro to the song, and the video features Eminem and Dr. Dre returning to their superhero characters from the video.
“Houdini” is based on a playful interpolation of Steve Miller Band’s 1982 hit “Abracadabra” and finds Eminem returning to his celeb-skewering Slim Shady roots. (Megan Thee Stallion and R. Kelly both are mentioned.) He also dissed his mentor Dr. Dre, his manager Paul Rosenberg, the CEO of Inerscope Jimmy Iovine and even went after his own kids, including Hailie Jade.
“Houdini” is the first single off of Eminem’s new album, called “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).” Right after the single dropped, Eminem’s team update his website withlimited edition pre-order with bonus track. It now reads: June 7, 2024, FOR ONE WEEK ONLY PRE-ORDER THE LIMITED EDITION DIGITAL ALBUM WITH AN EXCLUSIVE BONUS TRACK ONLY AVAILABLE ON EMINEM.COM
“The Death of Slim Shady,” Eminem’s first album since 2020’s “Music to Be Murdered By,” was announced in April, tied to Eminem’s appearance at the first night of the Detroit NFL Draft. It will be Eminem’s 12th solo studio album of his career. Bump the new single below:
Eminem has been taking a very unique approach to the rollout for his much-anticipated upcoming 12th solo studio album. Last month, Marshall announced The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) with a true crime parody video just before the NFL Draft 2024, and then he had an obituary for Slim printed in the Detroit Free Press, all well as in Germany and Italy newspapers. It’s looking like The Death of Slim Shady will be Eminem’s most ambitious album in years, and based on the latest piece of material released, it won’t be long until fans get to hear what it sounds like.
Eminem posted a screenshot video of a text exchange on his social media accounts. The contact info at the top reads: “All contacts,” and the message that gets sent out reads: “And for my last trick!” This video furthers the notion that the upcoming album will be the end of the line for Slim Shady as a character. The biggest revelation, though, is the time in which the text message is sent. The message says Friday, May 31 at 12:00 AM, which means fans can expect something major to happen on this date. It’s not made clear what the “something” will be. Under the comment section, Ez Mil and Nasaan both commented the magic wand emojis. Slim Shady also changed his profile pictures on social media to a ‘rabbit’, which is probably related to his 8 Mile character.
It will probably be a new single. Some fans took to the comment section to theorize that Em is dropping the entire album on May 31, but the video teaser announcing The Death of Slim Shady stated that it will drop in the summer. Seeing as summer doesn’t officially start until late June, it’s safe to state that Eminem will be sitting on the album for a bit longer. The Detroit legend first teased the idea of new music back in January. He told Shade 45 listeners that he was “working on a little something,” and also teased a potential collaboration with 50 Cent.
“I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad. We need another 50 album, like, really bad. 50’s on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour. I told him whatever the f–k he needs from me, I’m here. Joint album? That s–t would be crazy, though, an album with me and him.” said Eminem… Check out Em‘s latest post below and tell us your opinion in the comment sections of our social media accounts.
Stephen Colbert has recently promoted Eminem’s new album on his THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT and invited the Detroit legend for an interview to promote his much-anticipated project.
“Folks, everybody who knows me, knows I’m big into hip-hop, the rippity raps as we call it, which is why I was personally devastated to learn that an obituary has appeared in Detroit Free Press for Eminem’s fictional alter ego Slim Shady. If only the authorities had thought to contact his doctor but sadly they Forgot About Dre.” said Stephen Colbert.
He then continued: “Now, the heartless buzzards of the media industry out there claim that Eminem is just running this fake obituary to promote his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe De Grace). Mnem, as he as repeatedly asked me not to call him, is it true artist, he would never stoop to emotionally manipulating his fans for a few streams, plus no major media figure is going to be dumb enough to fall for this obit and promote The Death Of Slim Shady (Coupe De Grace), available later this summer (Come on this show, call me).”
“No, this obit is real and can mean only one thing, Will The Real Slim Shady Please Stand Up? Now I’m Slim Shady. Yes, I’m the real Shady, all the other Slim Shadys are just imitating. Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? Which mean all the royalties for the music should be sent to The Real Slim Shady care of Stephen Colbert, Ed Sullivan Theater, New York, New York. Or just go to Times Square and look for the building with my name on it.” Stephen Colbert added. You can watch the monologue below:
Speaking to The National after his performance at Mutek.AE music and design festival last week in Dubai, iconic pianist Luis Resto, Eminem‘s long-time collaborator, says the Detroit legend’s much-anticipated new album will have him going back to his hard-hitting roots. He also revealed that he has been contributing sporadically to Slim Shady’s new album since 2021.
“I do have a notion of things judging by what I have seen and heard across the last three years and if I have to give you a forecast, you are going to hear a whole nod back to some of his original creative areas. He is talking about where he came from and where he is now. So it is really a hodgepodge musically of ideas and influences.” says Luis Resto.
Resto’s contribution continues his long-standing relationship Em, stemming back to 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP. Although that record had him contributing minimally, it was from 2002’s follow up The Eminem Show that Resto scored song-writing credits on each of Eminem’s album and associated soundtracks. The work includes co-writing and producing chart-topping hits such as 2004’s Toy Soldiers, 2010’s Grammy Award-winning Not Afraid and 2020’s Godzilla. The track record also includes the wildly successful 2002 track Lose Yourself from 8 Mile, a film that starred Eminem. The song earned the duo, alongside co-producer and writer Jeff Bass, an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2003.
Resto recalls writing the dramatic string section when recording the track in a makeshift studio on the film set in Eminem’s hometown Detroit: “Marshall led that session and I remember he kept saying how the song felt too rock ‘n’ roll and he wanted us to really rebuild the song and take it in a different direction. And this is where I got to use my orchestral chops and added piano, French horns, flutes and strings. I love the hip-hip ethos in general because a lot of it is based on using your ear and feeling your way through songs.
“Now I personally have knowledge of music theory and I am well-versed on how it all works but working with people like Eminem and 50 Cent is a much more open session. It’s not based on major or minor chords or what is correct or not. It’s based on whether it sounds dope or not. Sometimes we are in the studio and they would look at us and wonder if what they are doing is right. And from my experience, I would tell them that it depends on what context you are asking me. If you are asking me theoretically, then I could say that this is not the right note and then what happens is the minute we change it to the correct note, the song is not as cool as it sounds. We often change it back again because they knew what they wanted in the first place.”
“I went out on the road with him around 2011 and quickly realized that he needed a more youthful culture projected on stage. I remember at that time I always wore my hair long and I went grey so early in life that I was done dyeing it. So when one of the roadies asked me if I was going to dye it, I understood the band really needed to look for somebody different. There was absolutely no offence taken because my relationship with Eminem continued and the work flowed.” Luis Resto added.
The latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast begins with the news of a cease and desist from Tupac’s estate over the use of his vocals on Drake’s ‘Taylor Made’ Freestyle before turning to Megan Thee Stallion being accused of harassment in lawsuit by her ex-cameraman. Then they go to discuss Eminem‘s new album which is set to be released this summer.
“I saw a lot of negative reactions too but Eminem announced that he’s dropping The Death Of Slim Shady album. Personally I’m excited. I see some people say he does not rap about anything or he just raps about how good he raps. A lot of people don’t like the fast rapping flow and etc. I say to those people ‘I don’t think you listen to his last project, Music To Be Murdered By. It’s an amazing album. That was my number two album of 2020.” said Officially Ice.
From there, Joe Budden interfered: “Did I get dissed on there?” But he was quickly reminded that he was dissed on 2018’s Kamikaze album. On that he replied: “Alright, I’ll check that out then.”
Then Ice continues: “He went back and did the deluxe thing and added second album to it. I didn’t really rock with second but the original Music To Be Murdered By was a great project, a lot of concepts. It (new trailer) was rolled out as true crime investigation doc type of thing, so if this is what you are doing and you are announcing this as the death of Slim Shady, I’m expecting something conceptual on here and when he get on that bag, he’s really not to be f–ked with.” You can watch the podcast below:

Last night, Eminem announced his new album title The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), by way of a true crime-themed trailer. It aired during the 2024 NFL Draft, which took place in Slim Shady’s hometown of Detroit. The trailer displays an advertisement for a faux TV series called Detroit Murder Files that is covering the death of his iconic alter ego, Slim Shady.
“Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,” the narrator announces. Then his long-time friend and collaborator 50 Cent makes a cameo in clip saying, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”
The narrator then continues: “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.” Eminem makes an appearance as the trailer closes, noting: “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.” And a graphic then notes: The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) Summer 2024.
It sounds like Metro Boomin wants in on the new Shady LP. “Somebody please tell Eminem I’m tryna lock in!!!” the super producer tweeted after the trailer was shared on social media by Eminem but he most likely won’t be featured on the album but who will make an appearance? Below is the list of artists and producers who are supposed to appear on the album based on their social media activities.
WHITE GOLD Singer, songwriter, and producer White Gold is definitely on the list. The Bronx, New York-born artist has previously collaborated with Eminem and Royce 5’9″ on several songs. Those tracks include “You Gon’ Learn” and “Zeus” from Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By (Deluxe) album and “Black Savage” and “Hero” from Royce 5’9″s The Allegory album. White Gold shared Eminem’s new album trailer on his Instagram with the caption: “Summer 2024. See you then.” And that makes us think another Gold & Slim track is on the way.
DEM JOINTZ Aftermath producer Dem Jointz, who is locked in the studio with Dr. Dre almost all the time and who has previously produced Dr. Dre’s “Medicine Man,” featuring Eminem, Candice Pillay and Anderson .Paak, Eminem’s “Never Love Again” and DJ Khaled’s “Use This Gospel (Remix),” featuring Kanye West and Eminem, shared Eminem’s teaser-trailer video on his Instagram with the caption: “THE DEATH of SLIM SHADY (COUP DE GRÂCE) This Summer’s Gone Be Crayzay!”
FREDWRECK
Another Aftermath producer, Fredwreck, the man who brought Slim Shady back on Revival album by producing “Framed” track. Flint, Michigan-born musician posted the teaser trailer on his Instagram story with the caption: “Summer 2024!!!! @eminem”
SKYLAR GREY
Eminem’s longtime collaborator Skylar Grey shared Eminem’s album trailer on her Instagram story, but that does not mean anything. She might just be supporting Em by doing so but considering how many tracks the two have created together through the years, it’s hard to imagine an Eminem album without Skylar Grey feature.
ROYCE DA 5’9″
There is no doubt Royce to be on the new Eminem album. Fans have been asking for Bad Meets Evil for more than a decade now so we might get another taste of the two top tier lyricist going back and forth. Em’s last solo studio album was 2020’s Music To Be Murdered By and Royce was a part of 4 tracks on the project. He was featured on “You Gon’ Learn,” featuring White Gold, “Yah Yah,” featuring Black Thought, Denaun and Q-Tip and “I Will,” featuring Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz. He also produced “Darkness” and “You Gon’ Learn.” Royce was also in the studio when Eminem played the album for Dr. Dre.
DR. DRE
During his visit with Jimmy Kimmel, Dr. Dre confirmed that he got some heat on new Eminem album: “Let me tell you something. Let me explain something right now. Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year and I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So yeah, the album coming out, I got songs on it and it’s fire. I’m actually going to hear entire album for the first time tomorrow. He holds his music close to his chest so I have not heard everything. I have not even heard everything complete that I’ve done but I’m gonna hear it and he’s putting out album this year. There are things on there that I have to mix that I’ve done but I got a chance to hear album in its entirety.”
50 CENT
New 50 Cent and Eminem banger is long overdue. During a recent conversation with DJ Whoo Kid, Em said: “50 Cent and Eminem collaboration album? Where that come from? I don’t know whose idea that was but that’s crazy. Yo, I’m trying to get him to make another album so bad. We need another 50 album, like, really bad bro. 50’s on the roll right now. He’s been on the roll since the tour and I told him he needs a f–king…whatever he needs from me, I’m here. That’s sh–t be crazy though, an album with me and him.”
EZ MIL
The newest Shady Records signee was in the studio with Eminem during a listening session with Dr. Dre. Few days after that, Ez Mil went live on Instagram where he was acting shady when talking about the session and said that he can’t say a word about the potential new music with Em. The two have already made a song called “Realest” but a song on Eminem’s new album would be a great promotion for young Pipelines artist.
The Detroit Lions introduced the world to the city with a warm welcome to kick off the NFL draft.
Current players and past legends joined NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Detroit hip-hop icon Eminem on the draft stage in the heart of Campus Martius Park to start the 2024 NFL draft. Jared Goff, freshly-extended Amon-Ra St. Brown, Aidan Hutchinson, Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders walked out onto the stage with a dramatic entrance.
Goodell came out first to a wave of boos, as is custom, then it turned into a raucous cheer when Eminem came out. Then, The Detroit Lions legends graced the stage, and the crowd went crazy. St. Brown, now $120 million richer, was the first player to greet the crowd. He welcomed the massive crowd in attendance and then started a chant for his quarterback standing behind him.
“Before we get off the stage, I need to hear one thing, JA-RED GOFF, JA-RED GOFF,” St. Brown said, before trailing off and letting the strong Honolulu blue contingent in attendance take it from there. Goff and Hutchinson also addressed the crowd. “Welcome to Detroit, let’s go baby!” Goff yelled into the mic. Hutchinson then took over, and also greeted the crowd standing under a massive poster of the franchise defensive end. “Let’s turn up tonight baby, let’s go!” The crowd then broke out into more Goff chants to fill in the silence before the Lions’ players exited the stage for the draft to begin.
But before the show started, NFL aired an 30 seconds ad which appears to be the title of new Eminem album “THE DEATH OF SLIM SHADY,” (Coup De Grace) dropping this summer. The promo video features cameo from 50 Cent. Is Eminem saying goodbye to Slim Shady character or is this his final album? Check it out below:
