Watch: Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine & Paul Rosenberg surprise 50 Cent at his birthday party

Fiddy might have rapped about partying ‘like it’s your birthday’, on his iconic single “In Da Club,” from Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ album but it appears 50 Cent favors a more low-key approach when it comes to his own born day.

West London locals were no doubt rather surprised to see the musician and actor, who was in London to perform at the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park on Saturday, enjoying a belated birthday celebration at Somalian restaurant, The Village, on Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith, on Sunday evening.

Friends, including music moguls Dr. Dre, Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg, Fredwreck and Jimmy Iovine who co-founded the Beats Electronics brand in California in 2006, put on a surprise belated birthday bash for the star, who actually turned 48 on July 6, 2023. Unfortunately, Eminem was missing.

Royce 5’9″ calls out Jimmy Iovine for ignoring The Game at LA Lakers game

After his appearance on Drink Champs last couple of week, The Game’s dissension with Dr. Dre and Interscope Records escalated quickly.

During the interview, The Compton rapper said Kanye West did more for him in a matter of weeks than Dr. Dre has his entire career.

It seems that the tension between Jimmy Iovine and The Game is real as a video clip surfaced this week where Game and Iovine crossed paths at the Lakers vs. 76ers game at the Staples Center without even looking at each other.

Royce Da 5’9″ used the opportunity to back up The Game and shade Jimmy Iovine on social media by sharing two video clips on Instagram. One video is from an interview where Jimmy Iovine said that there were not many partnerships between White and Black people, implying that he and Dre did it. Second video is Game and Iovine briefly crossing paths at the Lakers game.

In the caption, Royce wrote: “The music business in 2 slides,” along with a peace sign emoji and an eye-rolling emoji.

In support on Jimmy, Ben Baller, a former Vice President of A&R for Aftermath, commented: “Jimmy Iovine helped me get my job with Dre even though I knew Dre. Real talk? He did this to me tw times at a Lakers game and now we work together again! He is old bro. He probably did not even know Game.”

Dr. Dre to produce Detroit legend Marvin Gaye’s biopic

Aretha Franklin is not the only Detroit music legend whose story is coming to the big screen.

Marvin Gaye is getting the biopic treatment, Deadline reported Thursday. The film, “What’s Going On,” will be directed by Allen Hughes, one-half of the Detroit-native Hughes Brothers (“Menace II Society,” “Dead Presidents”), while Dr. Dre and Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine are among the producers.

The film will have the rights to use Gaye’s music, a key component that earlier attempts to bring Gaye’s life to screen lacked and it will have a reported budget of more than $80 million and is described as a “musical odyssey” rather than a straightforward biopic.

“What’s Going On” is currently due out in 2023.

Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine to open ‘the coolest high school’ in L.A.

Rap icon Dr. Dre and music industry mogul Jimmy Iovine hated school which made them to force to create a new public high school project in Los Angeles.

“I want to reach the inner-city kid, the younger me. Here’s a place that you can go where there’s something that you can learn that you’re really interested in.” said Dr. Dre

“This is for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place… like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that.” – added Jimmy Iovine

Dr. Dre continues: “That guy that didn’t have an opportunity, that had to scratch and figure out things on his own. That had the curiosity but didn’t have these type of opportunities, really smart kids — we want to touch and give them this open door and these opportunities to be able to show what they can do.”

“No kid wants to go to school. Because it’s boring. You keep flipping the same thing over and over and over again, year after year, with the same curriculum, the same teachers. This is something new and different that might excite the kids and make them want to go to school.”

“I had no idea this is where my life and career was gonna go, and everything that I’ve been doing throughout my career… was gonna lead to this, all those things a stepping stone to get here. Is this what it’s supposed to be? The, you know, the Big Bang? Hopefully it is.”

“This is how you spend money and feel good about it. And that feeling lasts, and most importantly it makes others feel good! Proud to know these gentlemen.” said Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg.

Dr. Dre also talked about his health conditions and more. You can visit LA Times for the full interview here.

Jamie Iovine talks Eminem’s personality & Em’s potential acting in movies

Jamie Iovine, the son of Jimmy Iovine, joins Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman for Wrestling Inc. exclusive interview where he talked about Eminem’s personality and potential acting in movies:

Eminem is a funny guy. Eminem is first off, incredibly gifted and incredibly talented, but much more of a nerd than a lot of people would think. First off, loves comics, reads them all the time, and if you listen to a lot of his songs, he has a lot of references in there as well. He is not current in the product at all. They have licensed him a lot.

“I remember when I was with the company, there was a package that was made for John Cena – Bray Wyatt match at WrestleMania 30. And it was to an Eminem song, and so he is familiar with it, but he is not as deep. And he is also one of the more quiet people that you will ever meet in a person in a one-on-one thing. That is why he does not do a lot of interviews is because he’s very soft spoken. When you meet him, you are expecting mass chainsaw guy, and he is not.

“He is very reserved, very quiet, very shy is a word I would use, which really surprised me the first time I got to speak with him. You can tell there is a lot going on behind the eyes. There is a lot of thinking and analyzing, and I think the fact that he is sober now really has opened him up to a lot more than just hip hop. He is interested in a lot more things now. I would not be surprised if we see him be in a lot more movies going forward.
