Eminem’s daughter Hailie reveals a gender of her child

Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade Mathers, has revealed the gender of her baby and she shared the heartwarming story of how she told her father.

During the recent episode of her podcast, “Just A Little Shady,” Hailie and her husband, Evan McClintock, recalled revealing the baby’s gender to Eminem. Mathers shared how she made sure to be careful while sharing the news with her father.

“We got my dad a jersey that said grandpa on the back, and it worked out perfectly,” she explained adding that at first he was a bit confused by the news. “He was first concerned, because he’s like, ‘Well, I didn’t get you a gift,'” she explained. “And freaked out for a couple minutes. He’s like, ‘We’re supposed to get each other gifts?’ I’m like, ‘No, no, it’s just for the football season.'”

Then when it came time to unwrap his present, the Detroit icon became confused again. According to Mathers, when he saw the word “grandpa” he thought he was being called old. It wasn’t until he was handed an ultrasound picture that the entire thing came together. “I pulled out the ultrasound picture, and he was like, ‘Wait, this is real. Like, this is happening.'””

The couple went onto reveal the gender of their baby during the podcast episode by popping a gold balloon during the podcast. “It’s a boy!” Mathers said after the blue confetti rained down from the balloon. The video of Eminem receiving the grandpa jersey was featured earlier this month in the rapper’s new music video, “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey from The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace) album. Hailie’s letter that made Eminem cry on her wedding has been revealed

Eminem is taking on a new role in his life: grandad. The Detroit legend announced that his daughter Hailie Jade, who is 28-year old, is expecting her first child via a new music video on Thursday for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey, from The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace).

At one point in the video, Hailie is seen giving her dad a Detroit Lions jersey that reads “Grandpa” on the back. Eminem, stunned, then holds a photo of a sonogram while Jade smiles and laughs at her dad’s reaction to the news.

The music video showcases a montage of childhood home videos of Jade and Eminem spliced with footage from her recent wedding to husband Evan McClintock. Shortly after the video was released, Jade posted a series of photos of herself and McClintock on her Instagram page looking at the sonogram, writing in the caption that their baby is due next year.

“Waking up a wife this week,” Jade wrote on her Instagram page at the time. “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt.” This is the first child for Jade and McClintock.

At another point of the video, Hailie gives a letter to Eminem which made him cry. The letter reads: “…because no matter how many years go by, inside my heart will always be the little girl who loves and needs her dad.” Check out the screenshot below:

Hailie talks about her dad Eminem’s performance at 2024 MTV VMAs

In her recent episode of Just A Little Shady podcast, Hailie and her long-time friend and co-host Brittany Ednie discussed the many awkward moments at the MTV Video Music Awards and elsewhere. At one point during the conversation, Hailie briefly talked about Eminem just recently opening the 2024 MTV VMAs ceremony with “Houdini” from his 12th solo studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

“I feel like there was a lot of kind of going back to old performances and stuff. Like, even dad did the old performance, like, he brought out all the people that looks like him. The funny was, when that was going on, Alaina was also here watching with us and she looks at and she’s like ‘you should do that for the Halloween!’ Like, get a blonde wig and put on a beard and then our friend was here too and he’s like ‘you look just like him. You should have been on the stage.’ I was like ‘thank you, thanks a lot.’ So, that’s up in the air. Maybe I’ll do it and dress like that for one of the Halloween episodes. That’d be hilarious.” said Hailie.

Eminem, who appeared wearing a black T-shirt and bleached hair at the VMAs opening performance, brought out a crew of his alter egos on stage and a lookalike of his younger self, just like he did it in 2001.

The Detroit legend was later joined by Jelly Roll, who made a virtual appearance to perform their collaboration “Somebody Save Me,” the fourth single of the album. Roll was not able to attend the award in person due to his commitment to his tour but he definitely watched the live performance with his crew.

Hailie shares her reaction to Eminem’s “Somebody Save Me” video

In her latest episode of Just A Little Shady podcast, Hailie shared her reaction of his father Eminem releasing the music video of “Somebody Save Me,” featuring Jelly Roll, the third single from The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace) album. She also shared her thoughts on “Temporary” song, featuring Skylar Grey, which is also dedicated to her.

In the music video of “Somebody Save Me,” Eminem is on the outside looking in watching his three children replay precious moments from their lives that he missed out on due to his demanding career and struggle with addiction. Home video footage of Hailie Jade playing the guitar at a recital, walking across the stage for graduation and blowing out birthday candles; Alaina’s graduation; Stevie opening presents; and brother Nate during the holidays play throughout the hard-hitting clip, bringing Em to his knees seeking forgiveness from above.

During the podcast, Hailie said: “Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I refused to watch again, is “Somebody Save Me” music video. I watch it in entirety and I don’t think I can do it again. I definitely cried.”

Shen then continued: “Between that and ‘Temporary’…I mean, I can’t…I audibly sobbed, I think for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary,’ but I will say, watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job, growing up, where I didn’t realize how bad things were. But now, as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about and I think that’s why I get emotional so much. Just thinking that this could have happened. And obviously that’s the point of the song but I will say that if you’ve ever lost an addict or a loved one, I feel for you… It’s a great video. It’s fun to see clips of us when we were younger like that, even ‘Mockingbird.’ But I can’t even listen to that anymore without crying. The older I get the less I can listen to any of these songs. But it is fun to see those clips not in that context.”

Rich Lee shares quick story of Eminem’s “Houdini” music video

Few days ago, Eminem released “Houdini” single with a music video, directed by long-running collaborator Rich Lee (“Not Afraid,” “Rap God,” “Phenomenal,” “Walk On Water,” “The Monster,” “Venom,” “My Life”). The innovative “Houdini” video freely calls back to classic Eminem videos such as Joseph Khan’s “Without Me” and Phillip Atwell’s “Real Slim Shady”. “Houdini” is packed with cameos including Dr. Dre, Pete Davidson, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Jimmy Iovine, Grip, Westside Boogie, Denaun Porter, Royce 5’ 9”, Paul Rosenberg, The Alchemist, EZ Mil, Ryan Keely, Samantha Mack, and comedian Shane Gillis. The generative AI used in the video was created by Metaphysic, with Jo Plaete and Chris Ume supervising production.

Rich Lee spoke on the video more by mentioning “What if Shady from the 2000s got teleported into the modern day and we got his take on what the world has become…and what if “Rap Boy” was the only person who could stop him? But, 20+ years have passed so theres a little less stamina and some bad knees. The crazy combination of new tech that made this music video possible. We are in such an awesome time now for filmmaking, and we were able to leverage so much of the great tech we have at hand.”

After the release of the music video, the director hit Instagram to share a quick beautiful story behind “Houdini”: “Our new Eminem video is out! Quick story! I moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and I was working as a sculptor and fabricator for Walt Disney Imagineering. I remember walking through the shop one day and some of the carpenters had the radio blasting (as that rowdy bunch usually does!) and the track that was playing was Eminem’s “My Name Is”. I remember that moment so vividly. I remember the faces of who was around, where I was standing, the smell of the workshop and Em’s voice echoing through it. I had no idea who he was at the time but it sounded so different than anything else. I literally stopped in my tracks and just stared at the radio, listening to this unhinged yet so precise voice assaulting my eardrums. I was mesmerized. I could never have predicted that 10 years later I’d be directing my first music video for him…or 20+ years later doing over a dozen projects with him. Wild.” said Rich Lee.

Then he continued: Looking at the comments on social media, the controversy, the love, the hate, etc., one thing that I’m seeing a lot of is a lot of people of my gen feeling a great sense of nostalgia for that early 2000s feeling. We obviously were leaning on some of his early iconography from that time, in a way it’s sort of a sequel to some of those videos (Are we rebooting music videos now?!). It was a lot to live up to and while challenging, it was a lot of fun to put this together.

“Anyways, I’m super lucky to be able to do this kind of work and collaborate with icons like Em. Dude is def the GOAT and totally ridiculous and fun to collaborate with! Quick thank you to the awesome team that helped get this across the finish line!” Rich Lee added.

The director also shared the ‘Eminem kids’ scene from the music video on his Instagram story with the caption: “By the way, it was crazy to shoot Eminem but to be honest it was surreal to have Hailie on our set too. Such a huge part of Eminem lore.” You can check the screenshot below:

Eminem’s mother reacts to Eminem & Hailie dancing at her granddaughter’s wedding

A little more than a year after Eminem and Kim Scott’s daughter Hailie Jade revealed that she and Evan McClintock had gotten engaged, the two have tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Battle Creek, Michigan surrounded by family and friends, which included Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Jimmy Iovine.

“Waking up a wife this week,” Hailie shared in a May 20, 2024 Instagram post featuring photos from the couple’s wedding day. “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration.” And the 28-year-old, who wore a stunning white strapless gown with jaw-dropping floor-length veil, simply found herself lost in the moment during their nuptials.

She continued: “So so many happy tears were shed laughs and smiles were had and so much love was felt. Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family and friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband and wife.”

Under the posts’ comment, Bizarre of D12 commented: “Congrats” with heart emoji. Obie Trice also replied: “Congratulations Hailie,” and Skylar Grey said: “Congrats honey stunning.”

But that’s not all from the ceremony, according to TMZ, Hailie and Eminem enjoyed a father-daughter dance during the occasion, which was held at a lavish venue in Battle Creek, Michigan. Eminem’s mother, Debbie Nelson, who is registered on X (formerly Twitter) as @heartandsoul777, retweeted her friend Amanda Gardner’s post with the caption: “My son hasn’t slow danced. 🙂 Give him E for effort. Love you son And Hailey. Congrats.” Check out the tweet below:

Hailie dances with Eminem at her wedding

Yesterday, Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade Scott, married her fiancé Evan McClintock in Battle Creek, Michigan. As TMZ reports, the ceremony was modestly sized with close friends and family.

Of course, that meant Papa Bear himself was also there and TMZ got some awesome shots that show him soaking in Hailie’s big day, with the two of them sharing a dance!

As you can see, Slim Shady was suited and booted as he led Hailie, who looked absolutely beautiful in her bridal gown, on the dance floor, with a ton of people looking on. Hailie was flashing a big smile and Eminem was true to his name, rockin’ classic sunglasses.

Another photo shows Em posing next to Hailie and Evan together at the wedding venue, Greencrest Manor and everybody is radiating, especially, Hailie, who’s in all-white… It’s certainly a happy ending for Hailie and Evan who’ve been together as a couple since 2016 and who got engaged last February, with some fantastic shots capturing the moment.

Hailie, who’s 28 now, and a successful podcaster/social media influencer, has been the apple of Eminem’s eye for many years, having been name-dropped in countless songs of his, with Em making it known that he’s a protective dad and would do anything for her.

We know Em’s proud of Hailie and her life path and obviously, since he was there for the wedding, we know he approves of Evan as a hubby for his kid. Now, he’s got a son-in-law. Pretty crazy to think she’s all grown up and off to start her own family. Things really do come full circle — and Em clearly meant what he said when he rapped about getting her anything she wanted. Indeed, it’s Hailie’s Song, only here — it’s “Here Comes the Bride.”

Hailie shares her emotions when she saw Eminem & 50 Cent on stage in Detroit

In her latest episode of “just a tittle shady” podcast, Hailie talked about the night Eminem came out as a surprise guest at 50 Cent’s show in Detroit.

“I was thriving because I had a little Sunday fun-day. So, we went to 50 Cent’s concert and I was so freaking happy. I have not seen him perform since like, I seriously think it was like 6tth grade. It’s been so long. First of all, I was so happy because there’s so many bangers that I feel everybody just forgets about. There’s the club songs but then there is so many play that you are like ‘holy s–t’.” said Hailie.

Then she continued: “And, what I was saying Evan too, the actual production that was the entire show, I have never seen that level of production. I mean, pyro, confetti cannons…There was a point, there was one song where pyro went off the entire song. And I was like, this is sick! I was not disappointed. And also, dad came out. It’s funny because, when he came out the Ed Sheeran thing, we knew before but this time I found out right before but still no matter what, I still get so hype cause I could see the crowd being so happy.”

“And actually it was funny because there was this guy in front of us. He was originally in our seats and he was not supposed to be there. So, he just climbed over in the seats in front of us. He was living his best life the entire time. Thankfully, nobody came to those seats so he didn’t kicked out. I was like ‘yes, you deserve to be right there. And Pine Knob was the most crowded and most hectic I have seen, ever. It was insane. That was one of the best Sundays in a long time.

“That’s why I was shocked too, because so many people were there on Sunday. I was not sure what’s going to be the vibe. Is everyone gonna be relaxed? No! Not a single person relaxed. It was a lot of fun.” she added.

Hailie’s fiancé reveals he asked Eminem for blessing before proposing

During the latest episode of Hailie Jade’s “Just A Little Shady” podcast, Evan McClintock revealed that he asked Eminem for permission to ask Hailie to be his future wife. “You went through the whole thing, you went through the whole process. You asked for permission … at a family gathering.” Hailie recalled during the podcast.

On which Evan replied: “Yeah, it was over the holidays. I was just looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious. I saw your dad go downstairs and I thought, ‘Alright. I got to do it right now or I am not doing it today. I am going to have to schedule some other time. So I just followed him downstairs and thankfully, he was just down there, grabbing your cake.”

Evan also revealed that Hailie’s sister Alaina Marie Mathers helped him out by suggesting him what kind of a ring he had to choose. “She pointed me in the right direction, ultimately.” He then went on to say he became a bit unsure of his ring choice once Hailie told him she had “no idea” what she was looking for in a ring — after he already ordered it. Clearly, everything worked out.

The latest Episode of “Just A Little Shady” podcast, which is titled “Introducing my FIANCÉ”, comes about couple of weeks after she announced their engagement with an Instagram post. It included gorgeous pictures of the sweet couple with a caption: “casual weekend recap…” she began with a crying and heart emoji.” 2.4.23 … i love you @evanmcclintock11.”

Eminem has previously talked a bit about Hailie’s relationship back in 2020 during Hot Boxin’ podcast with Mike Tyson. “No babies. She has a boyfriend, but she’s doing good. She made me proud for sure. … I have a niece that I have helped raise, too, that’s pretty much like a daughter to me, and she is 26, and I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So, when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I am the most proud of is that — is being able to raise kids.”
