Mark Batson reminisces studio times with Eminem & Dr. Dre with iconic picture

Legendary Mark Batson, who has previously worked with Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre on many occasions, contributing to some of the most iconic records which have sold more than millions of copies worldwide, has recently hit twitter to remember the golden times in the studio with Eminem and Dr. Dre.

“Once upon a time, many years ago, there were three musicians who loved this powerful art form called: Hip Hop.” – The super-producer tweeted couple of hours ago, along the picture of himself, Eminem and Dr. Dre being in the studio, probably recording something for Relapse album.

Mark was heavily involved in my favorite Eminem album of all time, Relapse and Relapse: Refill. Some of his biggest Slim Shady hits include: “A– Like That,” “Crack A Bottle,” “Just Lose It,” “Kill For You,” with Skylar Grey, “Mosh,” “Nowhere Fast,” with Kehlani, “We Made You,” and the most recent work on Music To Be Murdered By album “Premonition.”

When we made Relapse with Eminem, it was not well received at the moment but now it is considered to be a classic. That’s how it goes… The most important thing is to keep being creative and offer the people things you think they will need. From the calls, I have been getting today, and the album already being #1 on the iTunes’ New Age charts, I think that people are letting their voices be known that something like this album is essential.” said Mark Batson in an interview with HipHop24x7 back in 2021.

Knoc-turn’al talks about Eminem: “He had to work ten times harder than us cause he was white”

Knoc-turn’al, who was introduced to the world on Dr. Dre’s multiplatinum album 2001, has recently sat down Cam Capone News where he talked about Eminem and Dr. Dre.

Knoc shined on the songs “Some L.A. Ni–az” and “Bang Bang.” Knoc-turn’al also penned some of the verses for the 2001 album. Dr. Dre then featured Knoc-turn’al on the Dr. Dre classic single and video “Bad Intentions” for the movie soundtrack “The Wash.”

“Eminem has always been fire. He’s a good dude. He has been through a lot but he got it keep together. Eminem has always been a jokester fun dude to be around. You gotta understand he had to work ten times harder than African-American in this business because he’s white. So he had to work harder than us. He had to prove himself. And people don’t understand that point.” said Knoc-turn’al in a new interview.

Then he continues: “Crazy thing is that, Eminem is die-hard, true person. If he cares about you he cares about you. If he don’t, he don’t. Even on The Chronic, 2001 tour, Eminem taking all the b–ches and I can’t even get one. All I am is that I’m on Dr. Dre’s album. I was like ‘give me ne of them dolls’ while he was on stage and he said ‘I think you already stole couple of them.’ Being around him is a fun. He’s a jokester but you gotta get to know people to understand the pain and different things they have been through.”

“I came at the time when Xzibit, Eminem, Hittman, Mel-Man had been around and we had fun.” – Knoc-turn’al added.

Then he continues talking about some of his favorite stories when touring with Dr. Dre. You can watch the interview below:

Today hip-hop world celebrates 30 years of “The Chronic” by Dr. Dre

On this day, 30 years ago, December 15, 1992, Dr. Dre released his solo debut album, The Chronic, executive produced by Suge Knight. It was released by his record label Death Row Records and distributed by Interscope Records.

The Chronic was Dr. Dre’s first solo album after he parted his way from legendary hip hop group N.W.A and its label Ruthless Records over some financial dispute. It includes diss songs towards Ruthless Records and its owner, the former N.W.A member, Eazy-E. It also features many guest appearances by then-emerging superstar rapper Snoop Dogg, who used the album as a launch pad for his own solo career.

The critically acclaimed album reached No. 3 on United State’s Billboard 200 charts and has been certified 3x platinum with sales of more than 3 million copies in the country, making Dre one of the top ten best-selling American performing artists of 1993. The album is currently eligible for 6x platinum for hitting 6 million units.

The Chronic‘s three singles became top ten Billboard singles. “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot Rap Singles and Hot R&B Singles charts. The song “Let Me Ride” also won Dre his first ever Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

The production of Dr. Dre popularized the G-funk subgenre within gangsta rap. The Chronic has been widely regarded as one of the most important and influential albums of the 1990s and one of the best-produced hip hop albums. In 2019, the album was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

Today, the world cerebrates the 30 year anniversary of the iconic album. Check the tweets below:

DJ Quik says he deserves to be equal to Dr. Dre

Legendary DJ Quik decided to get somethings off his chest on social media while reflecting on his iconic musical career.

West Coast’s G-Funk sound architect expressed his thoughts that he believes his career should match the mainstream acclaim of his longtime friend, another legendary producer, Compton’s finest Dr. Dre.

“I know it is early. But I deserve to be where Dre is. I do not think it is fair, but I understand why. I have never had a machine behind me, that always hurt my friends more than it did me.” said DJ Quik on Twitter.

Then he continued: “This does not need to be on a podcast. Because you have fire starters, who want to spin everything to get more ratings. But the truth is: I love Dr. Dre, like a big brother, one I never had. It pains me when people pit us against each other.”

“I know I will never be as popular as I need to be, but I have 10s of artists superstars. And when they shine, I just smile. The janitor doesn’t get all the glory, but he keeps the backstage, clean as a triage.” DJ Quick added but the series of the tweets did not spot there.

“This is not a meltdown, I’m just expressing myself as neutrally as I can.” he said. You can check all the tweets below:

Hailie’s reaction when Dr. Dre says Eminem had s*x with his mom on MMLP

Eminem was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday (November 5, 2022). Dr. Dre bestowed the honor upon the Detroit legend during the ceremony, which took place in Los Angeles at Microsoft Theater.

The iconic producer joked about how surprised he was to learn that Eminem was white and said that other people in the industry discouraged him from working with the once-unknown rapper. “I knew that his gifts were undeniable. Each of us were exactly what the other one needed — and I was willing to bet my entire career on that.”

Dre’s speech was full of jokes. At one point, he said: “Then, The Marshall Mathers LP drops. On that album alone, his alter ago, Slim Shady tied me up in the basement. He had s*x with his mother [here Eminem shouted “twice” from audience]. Killed his daughter’s mother again, while proceeding to offend about every special interest group…”

Dr. Dre is selling his Malibu beach house for $20 million

Dr. Dre is leaving his Malibu vacation home after more than 20 years of ownership.

According to Dirt, the 57-year-old legendary producer and rapper has listed his beach house, which is close to the Pacific Coast Highway, for a stunning $20 million. Dre’s decision to sell his longtime vacation property follows a period of time during which he was unable to utilize it since his wife Nicole Young remained there throughout their acrimonious divorce, which was finally resolved in December 2021.

Dre’s home has the distinction of being situated on Carbon Beach, which has recently grown to be one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the coastal city of Malibu. The house, which was constructed in the 1990s, is referred to in the listing as a “contemporary beach estate” and is said it “exudes total luxury and sophistication.” Dre must have valued his privacy because there is only one way to get to the house from the road, and that is through a gate. The home has a first-rate security system as well.

Ten of which all consecutively debuted at No. 1, making him the first artist to ever achieve this s—. Grammy awards, and Emmy, and Oscar! Making him the best selling artist of 00’s. The best selling hip-hop artist ever. Let me repeat that. The best selling hip-hop artist ever.” said Dre.

“And point about this is that he does not really care about that. I think I care more about it than him. What’s most important to him is that he has earned the respect from his peers as one of the best to ever do it. Point blank.” Dr. Dre added.
