Big Daddy Kane, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe & Royce 5’9″ react to new LL Cool J & Eminem song

This Friday, after more than a decade break, the legendary LL Cool J dropped the new album, titled The FORCE, entirely produced by another hip-hop icon, Q-Tip. It features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Sona Jobarteh, Saweetie, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Eminem, Mad Squablz, J-S.A.N.D., and Don Pablito.

“Murdergram Deux”, featuring Eminem, was released as the fourth single of the album on August 30, 2024. With LL’s nostalgic bravado and Eminem’s signature speedy flow and subtle wordplay, the song sees the pair boasting about their raw “unapologetic” style and credibility in the rap game. The track is produced by Eminem and Q-Tip, LL’s fellow Queens rap legend and former member of A Tribe Called Quest, who has produced the entire album.

DJ Whoo Kid shared the snippet of the song on his Instagram with the caption: “@llcoolj x @eminem, this is my fav LL song! Your thoughts? @ilovewhoodini.” Whoo Kid probably meant that it’s his favorite LL song from the new album.

Under the comments, legendary Big Daddy Kane commented: “LOVE IT!!! This a Cerrone vibe.” Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Royce 5’9″ and Lazarus have all commented fire emojis. Though, fans have mixed feeling about the song and the entire album. Someone said: “The album is not that good. The lyrics are on point, typical LL, but the tracks…..leaves a lot to be desired.” One user commented: “Nah man, this ain’t it…” Another said: “They ripped that s–t!” Check out the screenshot of the reactions below:

Grafh explains why he choses Eminem over Busta Rhymes, shows love to Royce 5’9″

In one of the recent episodes of Drink Champs, Grafh and Memphis Bleek dive deep into their careers in hip hop. From Grafh’s early days with Black Hand and his near-signing to Roc-A-Fella, to Bleek’s experiences as a core member of the iconic label, the duo share never-before heard stories. They discuss Grafh’s alleged beef with 50 Cent, his ghostwriting for J.Lo, and his fight with Busta Rhymes. The conversation also touches on the importance of lyricism in hip hop, the impact of the Griselda movement, and the legacy of Chaz Williams. Grafh opens up about industry blackballing and his journey to independence, while both artists reflect on the evolution of their careers and the current state of hip-hop.

At one point of the interview, Grafh played a traditional Quicktime With Slime game, where the hosts ask the guest to choose between two artists or subjects and if he/she can’t answer, then she/he drinks a shot. NORE and DJ EFN of course asked a traditional question, ‘Busta Rhymes or Eminem?’ and Grafh chose Eminem.

“I’mma have to go with… Damn, Bus my nig-a too though. I’mma go with Em, cause he influenced my style. I’m combination of like Prodigy, Eminem, Nas, Jada, Royce and Jay-Z. But I love Busta, man.” said Grafh.

Later in the interview, the Queens, New York-born rapper showed love to Eminem and Royce 5’9″: “They used to call me Black Eminem for a while. That’s one of the best compliments to me. I think Em is one of the top nig-as. A lot of my influences were them type of nig-as. Royce and him, both of them nig-as influenced my s–t. So, that’s a big compliment to me, the Eminem s–t. I always wanted to do a song with Em. Just one nostalgic s–t because I look up to him as MC and have to see who get the better verse and we have to go hard. A lot of times when I make a record though, I’m not trying to get the best verse. I’m trying to make the best record but with Em, we gotta get the best verse. With Em, it is a blood sport nig-a. This is personal. Cause that’s a fact, he’s coming to smoke s–t.” said Grafh.

You can watch the interview below.”Busta Rhymes VS Eminem” talk starts at 59:47. The Eminem and Royce shout out starts from 1:04:18.

“I’mma keep it a buck. I don’t think nobody could f–k with Eminem. I’m sorry, Dr. Umar stop it. You wildin’ son. And there is a lot of s–t that Dr. Umar says that I agree with but this is one particular one where you way off the kilt bro. Eminem is the truth bro.” said Busta Rhymes.

Then he continued: “I got a song coming out with an artist that I had to address about his testimonial and opinion on Eminem too. I had to check him on his own song in rhyme form. So y’all stay tuned for that. I’m huge fan of the artist that I made a record with… Now that being said, Kendrick is my favorite, Eminem is my favorite, Talib Kweli, Luda’s one of my faovrites. Smino, JID, J. Cole, Drake, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross. I got way too many favorites. Rakim is is one o my favorites, Kane, Slick Rick, KRS-1, Chuck D.

“Eminem brings best out of me. I did a song with Eminem called ‘Calm Down.’ I sent him 16 bars. He sent me back 48. You are not doing that to me on my own record. I sent back 54 bars. He sends me back 62. I sent back 68. Who we making a song at this point? We ain’t making a song for consumer. We just battling on a record for seven minutes. They ain’t playing it in the club. They are not going to play it in the radio. We might get satellite radio spins. We might gt some motherf–king blogs talking about this because it’s an eventful moment. But we turned a record that could have been a radio joint into me and you straight straight raw hip-hop. ‘F–k the rules’ moment. Because we love it so much. That the competitive nature we both have forced us to bring the best out of each other. Only dudes like that can cause me to be this way. So I love Em, I love Kendrick and I love Talib Kweli.” Busta Rhymes added.

When N.O.R.E. asked The D.O.C. to choose between Eminem and Busta Rhyme, here is what he replied: “Both of these guys are my guys.” He did not answer the question…I went a head and compiled every video where the hosts asks their guests Eminem VS Busta Rhymes. You can check it out below.

WIZ KHALIFA: Busta Rhymes for sure. Lyricism is up there but Busta be like ‘I’ll kill that n-gga!’ Busta inspired me a lot, man. You might not see it in my style but just being animated, being more goofy and more silly, just being myself. He’s great on stage. I’ve always loved fast rappers. That’s always been one of my favorite things growing up.

AKON: It depends. These are two different lanes. You can’t compare these two. I gotta go with both.

T.I.: I’mma go Busta Rhymes. Not because I don’t have enormous respect and admiration for Em but but Bus has always been one of the brothers to me. Em to me though, he don’t have to f–k with nobody but he still does so I gotta show admiration to Em and salute him for that.

Busta Rhymes names Top 5 Greatest Rappers Ever, includes Eminem

Last month, Busta Rhymes returned with a new studio album, Blockbusta. The LP arrived as his eleventh project overall and the first full-length collection of music since 2020’s Extinction Level Event 2.

To promote the album, the East Flatbush, New York-born hip-hop legend has done an interview on Amazon Music’s +44 Podcast with Sideman and Zeze Millz where he revealed his list of top five greatest rappers of all time.

“Greatest rapper ever? I don’t think I have one. I could say five. Rakim. Some might disagree with me but Nas. I would say Eminem. I’m starting to feel like there some new guys that are starting to go into that list to me. I’m almost there with J. Cole but I’m still torn between him and Kendrick. I’m talking about only bars! If Kendrick was to get active in the same way that Cole is being active, it would be a way different conversation but again, I’m torn between Cole and Kendrick, but it would be one of them two.” said Busta Rhymes.

Then he continued: “I still didn’t put none of them two in the fourth place. I was just saying that it was gonna be a new guy cause they are really starting to really earn their right to passage and to be in the top 5 greatest of all time to me. I would definitely say JAY-Z. I’m Biggie bias. I’m Biggie bias because I think what he has done between two albums everybody obviously had an opportunity to work way longer than him and they still can’t top what he has done in two albums. I think that’s my list.”

Later, Busta continues speaking about touring with 50 Cent, his new album Blockbusta, working with Little Simz, R.A and Giggs, growing up in the United Kingdom and more. You can watch the interview below:

Busta Rhymes, Joyner Lucas, 50 Cent, Royce 5’9″ & more send birthday wishes to Eminem

Yesterday Eminem turned 51.

His friends and fans have united on social media to send some beautiful birthday messages to the Detroit legend.

Happy birthday to the legendary Eminem. What’s crazy is during my whole come up I used to ask “I wonder if Eminem knows who I am..” that s–t mattered to me. He was the one rapper that I NEEDED approval from. Maybe it’s because musically he birthed my style and from age 13 this dude was like a god to me. The way he was able to put words together and express himself. The way he was vulnerable and spilled his heart out with his pen and made you feel something. From “Stan”, to “The Way I Am” and “Cleaning Out My Closet” and “Lose Yourself” and “Hailie’s Song” and many others…” said Joyner Lucas on his Instagram post.

Then he continued: “Then First time I ever met Em, was at a Royce 5’9″s video shoot. Fast forward and I get to shoot my music video with him…. “LUCKY YOU”….I remember being on this video set and it feeling like an out of body experience the whole time. I kept saying to myself “this ain’t real”… like I’m shooting a music video with the GOAT right now On MY BIRTHDAY!!?? The whole video shoot he kept saying things to me like “yo, when you said this line and that line on this song and that song, how did you come up with that? Like how did you put those syllables together and how did you tell the story in that way?” I’m like, damn bro, you really listen to my s–t? Lol blew my damn mind. Marshall is probably the most humble down to earth people you will ever meet. Happy birthday my brother and thank you for your contributions to both the game AND my life.”

“HAPPY BDAY TO EMINEM, ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE MC’S TO EVER TOUCH A MICROPHONE SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THIS HIPHOP CULTURE!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREATNESS KING!!” wrote Busta Rhymes in the caption of his Instagram post.

“Happy Birthday to the living legend Eminem love you to death man, God bless wishing you many more.” wrote 50 Cent on X.

Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube send birthday wishes to Dr. Dre

Yesterday, the hip-hop world celebrated the birth of one of the most influential artists in the rap game. The living legend is described as none other than one and only Dr. Dre. Not only was Dre the first rap billionaire, but he was also an instrumental part in the creation of a new sub-genre of hip-hop, known as G-Funk.

The life and career of Dr. Dre have been able to make Rap and Hip-Hop what they are today. Without him, who knows where Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game and Kendrick Lamar would be today. From everyone at Southpawers, Happy Birthday, DRE. May you have many more successes-filled years.

Kxng Crooked says Eminem almost jumped on “Beast” song with Tech N9ne & Busta Rhymes

Back in 2015, Tech N9ne landed a big dream collaboration when Kansas City, Missouri-born rapper featured Slim Shady in his song titled “Speedom (WWC3)”.

The same year, in a interview with BET, Tech said Eminem verse did not cost him a penny. According to him, Em only wanted his verse in return.

“Eminem did the verse for nothing but a swap. I was flabbergasted cause I know it cost so much to get Eminem and it’s worth every penny. For him to say, ‘I just want a song from you for this’, that made me feel really beautiful that he felt that way about my music.” said Tech N9ne.

Then he continued: “I haven’t spoken to this guy since the early 2000s or something, and it’s wonderful how that worked out. The fact that he feels like my music is that good that he would wanna do that for me is incredible. For one, do the song for me and then say, ‘No no no, I just want you to give me a song for this’ I’m like ‘Yes!’ That feels so good man”.

Eminem used Tech N9ne’s verse for Southpaw movie soundtracks album on a track called “Beast” (Remix) by Rob Bailey and The Hustle Standard, which also featured Kxng Crooked and Busta Rhymes.

In a recent interaction with fans on Twitter, Crooked I revealed that Eminem almost joined the hard-hitting lyrical beast line-up on the track. The Detroit legend has previously collaborated with Kxng Crooked, Tech N9ne and Busta Rhymes in several occasions but the four has never jumped on a track together.

Em came VERY close to hopping on it.” – Kxng Crooked (Feb. 14, 2023 on Twitter)

He also expressed his desire to work with Eminem again by asking fans who would they prefer to produce a song that features Kxng Crooked, Eminem and Tech N9e. Some of the popular replies include Dr. Dre, DJ Premier and Apollo Brown among others.
