Colin Jost jokes about Eminem & Macklmore during SNL’s Weekend Update

Saturday Night Live is not live tonight, but its a replay that’s very worthy of a re-watch. SNL is going back to its season premiere to re-air the episode hosted by Owen Wilson.

The audience was also thrilled for the return of Weekend Update, where Michael Che and Colin Jost talked about infrastructure, Joe Rogan, R. the Kelly verdict, Disney turning 50, masturbating chimps, Obama’s Presidential Library, unvaccinated NBA players, Billie Eilish, white paint and Eminem’s “Mom’s Spaghetti” restaurant in Detroit.

“During the opening day of Eminem’s new Detroit restaurant, the rapper surprised guests by serving them pasta himself. Not to be outdone, Macklemore got fired from Olive Garden.” jokes Colin Jost.

Anthony Mackie has recently sat down with Jemele Hill for a new interview where the Hollywood superstar talked about working on Eminem’s movie ‘8 Mile,‘ revealing he was offered too many gangster and rapper roles afterwards:

“After 8 Mile, I was offered every rapper, every gangster in every movie and then there were certain movies that I wanted to audition for that my reps were like, ‘After doing 8 Mile, I don’t think you should do that. So it was a conscious decision on their part that became a conscious decision on my part. Early in my career, I would say six times out of 10, the roles that I was auditioning for were written for white dudes. When I auditioned for Hurt Locker, Hurt Locker was written for a white dude, 8 Mile wasn’t even written.” said Anthony Mackie.

One of the Hollywood’s power players, Anthony Mackie, whose latest film, Outside the Wire, is currently trending on Netflix, has recently visited Hot Ones on First We Feast where the host asked the actor how did he prepare for a Papa Doc role in Eminem’s 8 Mile movie, on which he replied:

“You know what’s interesting? I find myself very lucky to have studied Shakespeare. When you look at Shakespeare, the way he wrote, he wrote in verse. So the idea of approaching a rapper from the perspective of an actor, you are really just speaking in poems. I always said, one of the greatest rappers that ever lived was William Shakespeare. So It helped a lot as far as being able to understand the cadence, the verse, the meter and putting those words in rhyming couplets and into form.”

I’m like sure go ahead. So before the entire 8 Mile final battle, he googles about me and learns about me and he basically makes fun of me as Papa Doc. [Laughs] And then I’m like ‘you getting little personal Mr. Marshall… I didn’t really go Cranbrook, but I did go at private school [laughs].” said Anthony Mackie

At the end of the video, one of the hosts also reveal a story about Brittany Murphy: “I was friends with the late Brittany Murphy and one time she told me a story that she had no idea how to throw up a middle finger cause she never flipped anyone off in her entire life until she did 8 Mile with Marshall. Eminem and her sit down and was teaching her how to do it. And if you watch the movie, he has a weird way of flipping people off. And if you look, she does the exact same way he does.
