Eminem & Nate Dogg’s “Till I Collapse” makes Spotify history

Eminem‘s “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg from The Eminem Show (2002) album has surpassed 1.5 BILLION streams on Spotify, making it the only non-single song in history to reach this milestone.

Anyone looking to make good use of that New Year’s resolution gym membership may want to give Eminem’s 2002 diamond-certified album a revisit or maybe 8 Mile soundtracks album. According to study done by Spotify couple of years ago, “Till I Collapse” is the top global song of all time for exercising and working out — a distinction its held for three years straight. Eminem’s Academy and Grammy Award-winning “Lose Yourself” also ranks at No. 2.

The figures have been extrapolated from the 43.5 million workout-related playlists used by the streaming giant’s nearly 191 million active monthly users.

Few years back, TIME magazine listed 50 Best Workout Songs and put “Till I Collapse” at number one.

“One of Eminem’s big hits also happens to be a pep talk. “When you feel weak you feel like you want to just give up,” he intones, “but you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength.” Then he blasts off. When the going gets hard, Eminem is here to take you through to the finish line — whatever the workout, whatever the challenge.” – TIME

In the similar news, 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” has also joined the billions club on Spotify. It’s Fiddy’s first ever song to reach this accolade.

Today hip-hop world celebrates 30 years of “The Chronic” by Dr. Dre

On this day, 30 years ago, December 15, 1992, Dr. Dre released his solo debut album, The Chronic, executive produced by Suge Knight. It was released by his record label Death Row Records and distributed by Interscope Records.

The Chronic was Dr. Dre’s first solo album after he parted his way from legendary hip hop group N.W.A and its label Ruthless Records over some financial dispute. It includes diss songs towards Ruthless Records and its owner, the former N.W.A member, Eazy-E. It also features many guest appearances by then-emerging superstar rapper Snoop Dogg, who used the album as a launch pad for his own solo career.

The critically acclaimed album reached No. 3 on United State’s Billboard 200 charts and has been certified 3x platinum with sales of more than 3 million copies in the country, making Dre one of the top ten best-selling American performing artists of 1993. The album is currently eligible for 6x platinum for hitting 6 million units.

The Chronic‘s three singles became top ten Billboard singles. “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot Rap Singles and Hot R&B Singles charts. The song “Let Me Ride” also won Dre his first ever Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

The production of Dr. Dre popularized the G-funk subgenre within gangsta rap. The Chronic has been widely regarded as one of the most important and influential albums of the 1990s and one of the best-produced hip hop albums. In 2019, the album was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

Today, the world cerebrates the 30 year anniversary of the iconic album. Check the tweets below:

WATCH: Westside Boogie’s Tiny Desk concert

After dropping the deluxe edition of “More Black Superheroes” album and releasing music video for Mamii-assisted “NONCHALANT” single, Westside Boogie is back for Tiny Desk concert.

.”I gotta be the first person to bring kids to NPR, right? No, I’m not. I gotta be the first one with kids in costumes, though.” Boogie is correct. American Football brought a children’s choir to the Desk in 2019, so Westside added flair to that idea for the climactic end to his show.

For his Tiny Desk, he played songs from “More Black Superhero” album, including “NONCHALANT,” featuring former Tiny Desk Contest contestant Mamii and couple of songs from from his Shady Records debut album, “Everythings For Sale.” After the performance, in a full circle moment, Boogie signed a poster from our 2015 SXSW showcase, which he was part of, telling us it was his first paid show.

The setlist of the concert included the following songs:

★ “N*** Needs”

★ “Lolsmh”

★ “STUCK”

★ “NONCHALANT”

★ “Silent Ride”

Stephen Colbert jokingly imagines Eminem in “Marshall Law” CBS TV series

In the latest episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the TV host made fun of United States’ representative for South Carolina’s 5th congressional district, Ralph Norman, for mistakenly spelling Martial Law as Marshall Law.

During his monologue, Stephen showed the screenshot of Norman’s words on the screen, which says: “Mark… we are at a point of no return in saving our republic. Our last hope is invoking Marshal Law!!”

On that, Colbert joked: “Invoking Martial Law means this Congressman was calling for military involvement in a coup again put him in a jail also put him through spell check because it’s Martial Law with a T. Marshall Law is the new CBS legal drama, starring Eminem as judge Marshall Mathers which reminds me, “Watch Marshall Law on CBS, Saturdays, 1:45 P.M. right after all new episodes of the Enforceinator.””

Rehearsal video of Eminem’s Rock Hall performance has surfaced online

On Saturday night, November 5, 2022, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted its 2022 class in grand fashion. Inductees included Eminem, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Carly Simon and Lionel Richie. Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis also joined the Hall Of Fame with the “award for musical excellence.”

Longtime friend and collaborator, his mentor, the legendary producer Dr. Dre had the pleasure of inducting Slim Shady, recalling the first time Jimmy Iovine called to let him know that Eminem was a white guy. “That completely f—d me up. I knew that his gifts were undeniable. Each of us was what the other one needed — and I was willing to bet my entire career on it. He brought hip-hop to middle America.”

There was only one way to follow such a massive induction, and that was with an even fresher performance. Eminem delivered just that, ripping through hits like “My Name Is,” “Forever,” “Not Afraid,” “Stan,” “Sing For The Moment” and “Rap God” — while also featuring surprising guests from Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler to Ed Sheeran. The Alchemist was behind the board and Mr. Porter as a hypeman, as always.

After the performance, the time for Eminem’s speech came: “I’m not supposed to be here tonight. One, I’m a rapper; two, I almost died from an overdose; and three, I really had to fight my way through… I’m a high school drop-out with a hip-hop education.” said Eminem before listening more than one hundred hip-hop acts that influenced him through his spectacular career.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony aired on November 19, 2022 on HBO and today the rehearsal video with Ed Sheeran has surfaced online. You can check the never before seen video footage below:

50 Cent & Snoop Dogg react to “toddler rappers”

The Baby Superstar by a full stack designer Gil Finkelstein is getting more and more popular every day and 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg are the proof of it.

Snoop shared the collage of toddlers on his social media and in the caption the legendary rapper expressed the astonishment and gave the shout out to the creator.

50 Cent also went on social media to share the artist’s imaginary to his millions of followers. In the caption he wrote: “These apps are crazy man, who is sitting there making this s–t.” Check it out below and hope you enjoy it too.

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s daughter lip-syncs over Eminem’s “Big Weenie”

Image: Eminem, Kanye West & his children

Eminem’s “Big Weenie” song from his 2004 album Encore is still going viral on Tiktok. After “Mockingbird,” the song from the same album, “Big Weenie” is Slim Shady’s most streamed song on short-form video hosting service.

Yesterday, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter, North West, added the song even more popularity after posting a video of her lipsyncing over “Big Weenie” lyrics: “I don’t understand, Why are you being so mean? You’re a mean, mean man. You’re just jealous of me ’cause you, you just can’t do what I do so instead of just admitting it, you walk around and say all kinds of really mean things about me.” The video already has 22 million views and 3.5 million likes.

This is not the first time Ye’s daughters are enjoying Eminem’s song. Last year, they lip-syinced over “The Real Slim Shady” from The Marshall Mathers LP album. Kanye once even revealed that his daughter’s most favorite song is “Use This Gospel” remix with Eminem.

“EMINEM THANK YOU FOR RAPPING ON THE DR DRE REMIX OF USE THIS GOSPEL I HAVW ALWAYS LOVED AND RESPECTED YOU AND IM HONORED TO HAVE YOU BLESS THIS SONG … ITS ALSO NORTH WEST’S FAVORITE KANYE WEST SONG OF ALL TIME.” Kanye was tweeted.

The song was later released by DJ Khaled on his “God Did” album. It is mainly produced by Dr. Dre with additional vocals done by Sunday Service Choir and Sly Pyper. It interpolates “Best Friend” by Yelawolf, featuring Eminem and Grace N Mercy by Kanye West, featuring Victory. In the song, Eminem drops religious and spiritually-concerned verse and track is a rare example of Slim Shady song that features zero curse words.

As far as “Big Weenie,” the song is doing the numbers nobody would ever expect. It has been very popular on TikTok for a while now which has been reflected on the charts. The track is charting on Shazam and is featured on a Spotify playlist with over 2.8m followers.

American-British internet personality and former world kickboxing champion in two different weight divisions Andrew Tate seems not to be a fan of Eminem as he called the Detroit hip-hop legend a “crybaby” in one of his latest tweets.

One of the fans on social media created a clip of Tate with Eminem’s 2002 hit song “Sing For The Moment” from the classic The Eminem Show album playing in the background and asked him to rate his “latest edit.” The internet superstar replied: “Do not like Eminem. He is a Crybaby. HAYLEY, HAYLEY, HAYLEY! Bro it has been like 30 years, shut up?!

While some of the fans agreed,  a lot of people came forward to defend Slim Shady. One user commented: “Bro, you lost my respect and all the Stans.” Another replied: “Boy, he’s Eminem. Not Lil Nas X. Get ready for backfire.” Someone commented: “Eminem is bigger Top G than you bro.”

Ice Cube says Eminem & 50 Cent are the reasons N.W.A album with Snoop Dogg didn’t come out

To promote their new Mount Westmore album, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too $hort has recently visited Bootleg Kev for an exclusive interview where the crew talked about record contracts, financial investing, new album and much more.

At one point of the interview, the legendary hip-hop figures talked about Dr. Dre.

E-40: I think Dr. Dre is the greatest producer in hip-hop, of all time. He’s a perfectionist. He’s on our Mount Westmore album. I think we are going to get songs out of Dre. We love Dre.

Bootleg Kev: Yo, how close you all were to do a f—ing new N.W.A. with Snoop? Where are those songs at?

Ice Cube: Not close at all. We were about to get into it and then he met Eminem and then he met 50 Cent. [Smiles] He met those two dudes and that just took his attention. We will now get something out of Dre. He has been sending me a lot of music.

E-40: Dre is a genius. Hopefully we get something out of him.

Too $hort: He was an early on Mount Westmore supporter. He got caught wind of the project early through Snoop. He pulled up with Snoop in studio. He put a snapper approve. He jumped on a song! We got a song with him but it didn’t make in this album. That will be on the second album.

In the same interview, E-40 addressed his “Busta Rhymes will eat Eminem in Verzuz battle” comments he made earlier this year and him and Ice Cube expressed his desire to work with Slim Shady.

You can watch the interview below:

E-40 clarifies his “Busta Rhymes eats Eminem in Verzuz” comments, Ice Cube wants to do song with Eminem

Earlier this year, legendary rapper E-40 visited Jalen and Jacoby on their show where he talked about Busta Rhymes potentially facing Eminem in a Verzuz battle where he said: “I’m gonan keep it one thousand. I love Eminem. I love Busta too, to the fullest and his talent speak for himself but Busta Rhymes will eat Eminem in a Verzuz battle. I really believe that. Busta Rhymes go crazy! Because now its turned to performance type of situation. Busta Rhymes is animated. He got gas. He rap fast. He has all that. He do all the stuff Eminem do and Busta Rhymes got up-temp slash to get the party going.”

To promote their new album, Mount Westmore have recently sat down with Bootleg Kev where E-40 clarified his statement and expressed his desire to work with Slim Shady.

Bootleg Kev: For each of you guys, is there a feature that has not happened yet, for whatever reason the planets didn’t align, and you don’t have a song with them yet?

Ice Cube: Nas, Rakim. I think everybody in their emcee life wanna do a song with Rakim at some point. These are the OGs. I think I can do a good song with Busta Rhymes. Me and him can do a dope song together. These are the ones that I think about that I know we could probably do something crazy.

Too $hort: For me it was always the one answer. Me, Missy Elliott and Timbaland on the same record. I want that.

E-40: I would say Jay-Z, Nas, Q-Tip, KRS One, Missy Elliott, Trick Daddy. I’d love to do a song with Eminem. I want to address the Eminem situation. A lot of his fans thought that I was dissing him. No, I could never do that. He’s one of the greatest emcees that ever did it. Somebody had asked me who would win in a Verzuz battle between Eminem and Busta Rhymes and I said Busta Rhymes. Because Verzuz is about live performance, I was not knocking Eminem. Busta got lot of hits and he get the party going. Busta on live is crazy. That’s all I meant. I was not trying to diss. I would never diss Eminem he’s one of the greats if not the great.

Later in the interview, E-40 added that he wants to do a song with THE LOX and Ice Cube said: “Oh yeah, I wanna do a song with Eminem too.” Watch the interview below:
