Skylar Grey reveals Eminem gave her big kiss after Grammy performance

Back in 2011, Eminem, Rihanna, Dr. Dre, Skylar Grey and Adam Levine performed “Love The Way You Lie (Part 2)” and “I Need A Doctor” at the 53rd annual Grammy awards.

Couple of days ago, Skylar Grey revealed that she was not satisfied by her performance and Eminem gave her a big kiss to calm her down. Skylar shared a short video of the show on Instagram with the caption:

“The most surreal moment in my life as a performer,” she said “I dreamed about being on that stage since childhood. After we got off stage, Em gave me a big kiss on the cheek and seemed very pleased with the performance. However, I locked myself in my dressing room and cried because I thought I did not sing good! Will forever be hard on myself but I guess that is what keeps me reaching…”

It’s not the first time the singer recalls the surreal moment of her career. In the Genius annotation, Skylar Grey wrote: “The most amazing thing for me with this was getting to perform at the Grammys with Dr. Dre and Eminem (‘I Need A Doctor’) when Rihanna opened up our medley with ‘Love The Way You Lie.’ That was a really special moment in my life.”

“I Need A Doctor” is a cinematic song detailing the relationship between Eminem and Dr. Dre. The song is produced by Alex da Kid and was supposed to be included in mystical Dre album, DETOX. In the song, Em raps about Dre being stuck creatively, unable to make music the way he used to due to his grief and depression. Em, who went through this himself after his best friend died in 2006, is making a passionate attempt to get through to him so Dre will start believing in his own abilities again.

That night at the Grammys, Eminem had most nominations than any artist and won Best Rap Solo Performance for “Not Afraid,” beating “Over” by Drake, “How Low” by Ludacris, “I’m Back” by T.I. and “Power” by Kanye West and Best Rap Album for Recovery, besting The Adventures Of Bobby Ray by B.o.B., “Thank Me Later” by Drake, “The Blueprint 3” by Jay-Z and “How I Got Over” by The Roots.

Logic describes meeting Eminem & Royce 5’9″ in Hawaii, details how “Homicide” came about

Logic has recently sat down with DJ WHOO KID on WHOO’s HOUSE podcast where the two talked about many things, including how the song “Homicide” came about and what was his first reaction when he first saw Royce 5’9″, Eminem and The Alchemist during their tour in Hawaii.

“I had that beat and I just started rapping…I was just like, man, that was good. Paul was president of Def Jam at that time and I was like ‘let’s pull some strings’. I sent him a record and he got it to Em and obviously I didn’t expect then I got the call saying ‘he likes the song he’s gonna do the song.’ and I was like ‘oh, my god, it’s crazy.'” said Logic.

Then he continues: “And then a week later, I got a call ‘yo, Em wants you to go open up for him in Hawaii at the stadium. I’m like ‘OH, S–T,’ so I got out there. I’m nervous. I’m like ‘oh my god.’ I’m so hyped. I’mma meet him! OH MY GOD. You don’t understand bro, my sister used to put Forgot About Dre from the radio to cassette on side A and she would put back and forth all the way outside A and all the way outside B and I was rapping over it. That is like the first real memory consuming hip-hop and it was him [Eminem] and Dre.”

From there, Logic continues talking about Hawaii tour: “So I get there, all the securities are there, guards, they all nice. I walk in and see Royce 5’9″ who is the hommie. Wearing his glasses and s–t. I see Alchemist. I dab them all and here comes the f–king Eminem with this beard that’s new at that time I’m like ‘woah this is crazy.’ He was so f–king cool bro. He was so humble! He’s the biggest rap nerd.”

“Em says, I got something and this motherf–ker pulls out the CD and his CD player and in the green room he plays the song and as he plays, I was like ‘Oh my god, is my verse on this?!’ And he KILLED IT. It was a dream come true and absolutely amazing.” Logic added.

Moby reflects on how Eminem’s “Without Me” affected his career

NME magazine has recently started new campaign where they quiz an artist on their own career to see how much they can remember. This week: the musician, songwriter and documentarian, Moby, takes the ultimate test where he talks about Eminem and what was the advantage of Eminem dissing him on “Without Me.”

“The only time me and Eminem ever ran into each other was famously documented at the 2002 MTV Music Awards when my friend Robert Smigel, who voices Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, thought it would be funny to speak to Eminem and I together – Eminem spent the evening scowling at me and got so upset he punched the puppet! I hope if we met up now, he’d laugh about that because it was bizarre and strange!” said Moby.

Then he continues: “Half-way through the awards ceremony, he told me ‘You’re dead’ and gave me an unusual drawing. I kept the picture — I had it framed! He handed me a drawing of him strangling me, and it was a really great illustration! What was endearing was that on the back-side of the paper, he had started drawing it then decided it wasn’t good enough. So he had a first draft on one side and then the fully-executed version on the other.”

“For the longest time, no matter where I went, someone would yell out of a car window: ‘Nobody listen to techno!’. So I’d like to thank Marshall for introducing me to his legion of 13-year-old, future-Trump-supporting fans. None of these people were running out to listen to my music, so it did in a negative way introduce me to a weird demographic of right-wing Americans who otherwise I would probably have had no contact with.” he added.

Eminem dissed Moby back in 2002 on a song “Without Me” which later become the biggest hit of the year. In the song, Em raps: And Moby? You can get stomped by Obie / You thirty-six-year-old baldheaded f–, b–w me / You don’t know me; you’re too old, let go / It’s over, nobody listens to techno / Now let’s go, just give me the signal I’ll be there with a whole list full of new insults.”

50 Cent is working on new album with Dr. Dre & Eminem

50 Cent has recently covered Billboard magazine’s latest issue where the New York legend revealed that he’s working on new album with Dr. Dre and Eminem.

Fifty has recently partnered with WeTV to launch the investigative series Hip-Hop Homicides. Hosted by Van Lathan, the show examines the shocking deaths of rising stars in the genre like XXXTentacion and King Von. Fifty also inked a three-project partnership with Lusid Media for an unscripted crime series slated to debut later this year on Peacock. Additionally, he and Eminem are working on a TV adaptation of the latter’s 2002 semi-autobiographical film, 8 Mile.

As Billboard reports, 8 years after selling his radio income stream to Kobalt Music Group in 2015 (worth $6 million), Fif is now working on a studio album with Dr. Dre and Eminem has sent him new songs to collaborate on, and Nas has tapped him for a feature on his forthcoming King’s Disease 4 album. [Video of this part of the interview is not available yet]. And after a string of one-off shows and a subsequent international run last year, 50 is also planning to tour in the United States for the first time in 13 years. He is already set to perform at Las Vegas’ Lovers & Friends Festival in May, 2023.

In the interview, 50 Cent also praised Eminem: “Em’s not going to say the s–t the way I say it because it just is what it is. There’s his humble nature — he’d call me and ask to do him a favor and rap with him on a song. Like, “You know I am on your label, right? Yeah, whatever you need me to do.” He would always ask me, “Could you do me a favor? I always thought it would be dope if we did this together.” I’m like, “All right.”

Ed Sheeran shows love to Eminem in a new video

Ed Sheeran has recently shared a video of himself talking about his iconic performance with Eminem at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame stage to his millions of followers on TikTok duet with HBO. The two performed Eminem’s legendary song “Stan,” featuring Dido from The Marshall Mathers LP album.

In the video, Ed Sheeran says: “So, I had a stutter when I was a kid, I could not speak properly and I would ttttalk like this and I had to go to speech therapy and part of my therapy was learning Eminem songs. Eminem was my favorite artist when I was a child.

Then he continues: “And when I got older and I ended up keen to work with him and meeting my idol, my hero. And we become friends. He asked me to sing “Stan” with him which is my favorite song from him at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. And I’m on the stage right now, thinking how the hell did I get on this stage and my dad’s in the audience. That was just a lovely, lovely day.

“I love you Em and congratulations for your induction at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.” Sheeran added.

Eminem and Ed Sheeran have made three songs together. The first song came out in 2017 when they collaborated on “River,” for Revival album. 50 Cent refers himself, Dr. Dre & Eminem “The 3 Headed Monster”

50 Cent has recently reflected on his relationship with his longtime friends and collaborators, Eminem and Dr. Dre, on Instagram to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of his classic debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.  The iconic New York rapper shared a clip of all three of them doing an interview on MTV from the early 2000s, before the release of his album.

In the caption, Fif wrote: “When you have a team like this it is hard to lose. I am so blessed to have worked with the best ever. You can re-write a book, you can re -write a song but you can not re-write a history. The 3 headed monster EM, DRE and 50 cent. Boom!”

In the rare footage that 50 Cent shared on Instagram, Dr. Dre says: “50’s album, in my opinion, is going to compete with all the classic Hip-Hop records that have come out over the last 10 years — Illmatic, The Chronic, Ready to Die, The Marshall Mathers LP — it’s right up there. And that’s no bulls–t … It’s hot!.”

One of the most interesting things about the caption is the term “3 Headed Monster”. If you remember, “three headed monster” was a name Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre used to refer themselves to around the golden Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit era.

Reggie Wright JR talks Suge Knight’s Death Row goons confronting Eminem at Source Awards

In a new interview with PANDA CHOP! News, the former head of security for Death Row Records, Reggie Wright Jr, talked about Eminem getting extorted but protected by Boo Yaa Tribe on the West Coast and Death Row Records confronting Eminem at the Source Awards 1999.

Interviewer: At the 1999, The Source awards, Death Row approached Eminem and they were gonna beat him down until you intervened and said to kick back that he had noting to do with it. Suge was in jail at that time. Did Suge personally call and say to go after Eminem because of his affiliation with Dre?

Reggie Wright: About Source Awards, it was like ‘you all ni–as be out here you all gotta represent. How you gonna go to Awards Show in LA and nobody is from LA there? Or performing or anything? You all go there, represent LA, stand up.’ It was not about beef. It was not about the beef with Dre or anything. But there was this dude Dean, the young assistant of Jimmy Iovine who was with Em and Dean looked at me like ‘Reggie what’s going on?’ Suge ain’t never really had no problems with Em to be honest. Suge always liked him, he always said he was a funny guy. He always kinda liked Em.

Interviewer: What was Eminem’s reaction when he got approached by all them dudes?

Reggie Write: He just looked and said nothing. It was not like he was scared or s–t but he was like ‘WHAT’S GOING ON.’ Then Dean jumped in and saw me. They know I was the only peacemaker. More importantly, Dean knew that I needed Em, that was my key to Jimmy whenever I needed to. It was like 10-20 of them standing there and three or four jumped in and they were about to do something bad to Eminem but fortunately they were listening to me and they just kept walking.”

David Guetta uses Eminem AI for the intro of his show

One of the most popular DJs and music producers in the world, David Guetta has recently shared a clip of himself playing one of his instrumentals for the thousands of his fans while using the AI-generated Eminem‘s voice. In the caption, Guetta wrote: “Let me introduce you to… Emin-AI-em”

The video starts with Artificial Intelligence generated Eminem voice that says: “This is the Future Rave sound, I’m getting off the underground!” Future Rave, also known as FUTURE RAVE or FR, is a genre of electronic dance music, coined by deejay/producers David Guetta and Morten Breum.

Later in the interview, Guetta explained how did he get Eminem voice on his track: “Eminem bro! This is something that I made as a joke and it worked so good, I could not believe it! I discovered those websites about A.I. Basically You can write lyrics in the style of any artist you like. So I typed: ‘Write a verse in the style of Eminem about Future Rave and I went to another A.I. website that can recreate the voice. I put the text in that and I played the record and people went nuts.”

This is not the first time David Guetta payed homage to Eminem. Back in 2019, he played Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” at MDL Beast Festival, this time using Eminem’s original music and voice. Check the video below:
