During his recent appearance on Drink Champs, Anderson. Paak talked about “Come Home” song with André 3000 from his 2019 album, Ventura.
“The song was ready to go. Everybody loved it. Right before it was about to drop, André 3000 hit me and he was like ‘I don’t wanna drop it, I think I’m not adding to it. I heard the song, it does not need me.” I’m like, ‘it’s about to drop, holy s–t.’ He was like ‘take me off, I don’t wanna be on it.'” said Anderson. Paak.
Then he continued: “I hit Dr. Dre. I was like ‘what we gonna do?’ So Dre made the call to Andre they talked it over and the next thing, it was out. And then, to take it on the next level, we get a Grammy for that song specifically.”
Watch the interview blow:
Andre 3000 originally didn’t think his verse on “Come Home” was adding to the song and didn’t want it to come out…
But Dr. Dre made the call to Andre 3000 and got him to change his mind
And eventually Anderson .Paak & Andre 3000 win a Grammy for the song
