Today (May 31, 2024), SZA took to social media to share a clip of herself singing Eminem’s magnum opus 2002 hit song from the 8 Mile soundtracks album, “Lose Yourself,” recorded on her mobile phone. The cover, backed by mellow piano keys and a bass guitar sees SZA singing the first verse, chorus and a portion of the song’s second verse before it cuts off.
Captioning the post, Top Dawg Entertainment singer and songwriter clarified that the cover was recorded to help her mental health, and will not be part of any upcoming projects: “U ever just cover Eminem on some tender s–t for feels? Not on a project Just for mental health.” she said.
