Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, The D.O.C. & Kxng Crooked react to Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s upcoming album

So, Snoop Dogg is preparing new album with Dr. Dre this summer.

Earlier this year, the iconic Long Beach rapper took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of himself and Dre, while confirming that new material from them will be released in the coming months. “Dynamic. Duo, Music comin summer 23.” he wrote in the caption.

The teaser came just few months after Snoop Dogg announced that he and Dr. Dre are working on a new album together called The Missionary, which will serve as the spiritual successor to his debut album Doggystyle.

At that time, in an interview, Snoop Dogg said: “I’ma tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album And it will be done in November. It’s entirely produced by Dr. Dre.”

In a recent interview with AllHipHop magazine, Grammy Award-winning producer who goes by the name of Smitty said: “It’s gonna be great music.What people will not expect is the level of execution that Snoop is committed to. Snoop Dogg called me and he said ‘Man, this is Snoop. I have not seen Dre this excited since The Chronic album. He’s really excited about what we’re doing.’”

Yesterday, Snoop teased fans again with a new Instagram post from the studio session with Dr. Dre. “Coming soon” – he wrote in the caption. In the comment section, Kurupt wrote: “#RIGHT”, Busta Rhymes also commented exploding head emojis. The D.O.C. replied “Let’s go.” And King Crooked said: “What I heard was pretty crazy.”

3 upcoming hip-hop documentaries, featuring Eminem

1. “Paragraphs I Manifest” by Big Daddy Kane

Last year, in an interview with HipHopDX, legendary rapper Big Daddy Kane confirmed that he was interviewing Eminem and Jay-Z for his upcoming Netflix documentary, called “Paragraphs I Manifest.” The hip-hop icon said: “I got Jay Z, Eminem, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh. I even got some of the battle rappers like Goodz Da Animal and Aye Verb, so it is coming out real good. I am supposed to do Common on Monday.” He even shared a picture with Eminem from the studio where the interview was held. Release date is yet unknown.

2. The DOC by The D.O.C. 

THE DOC documentary is about legendary rapper The D.O.C. which premiered this summer at some movie festivals. It features heavyweight cast of Hip Hop stars like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Too $hort, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger and more. It is directed by David Caplan and chronicles the life and career of Tracy Lynn Curry, who rose to fame in the late ’80s and early ’90s as a platinum-selling rapper, songwriter for N.W.A, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and others, and co-founder of Death Row Records.

Eminem even shared a clip of himself and The D.O.C. from the documentary and in the caption he wrote:  “No one can do it better… me and THE DOC from his upcoming documentary.” Release date is yet unknown.

3. “Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World.” by Chuck D

The four-part music documentary boxset featuring and executive produced by Hip Hop legend, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, called “Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World,” is to premiere on BBC iPlayer on 21st of January, 2023. The docuseries will tell the story of the relationship between politics and the Hip Hop movement, recounting the origins of the revolutionary artform through first-hand accounts and charting the journey of how Hip Hop became a cultural phenomenon, against a backdrop of social and political American history.

Hip-Hop legends featured in the series include Eminem, B-Real from Cypress Hill, DMC, Ice-T, Fat Joe, KRS-One, LL COOL J, MC Lyte, Monie Love, Abiodun Oyewole, Roxanne Shanté, and Will.I.Am.

The D.O.C. & Vanilla Ice react to Eminem’s verse on Kanye West’s “Use This Gospel” remix

Legendary rapper The D.O.C. has recently shared a video of him reacting to Eminem’s verse on Kanye West’s “Use This Gospel” remix, which was released by DJ Khaled through his “God Did” album.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Khaled revealed how the remix ended up on his album. He stated that West had played him Jesus Is King Part II in full a year and a half prior, calling it “incredible”. Even though West and Khaled had recorded a couple of tracks for God Did, they were never finished due to the rapper’s busy schedule. As part of a “last minute magic gift”, Khaled asked West if he could include the remix on “God Did” since it perfectly fit the album’s theme. According to Khaled, West loved the idea, which he joked “You know Ye don’t love no idea”. Before confirming the inclusion, West insisted on contacting both Dr. Dre and Eminem for their approval which he received shortly after.

The song was commercially successful too. It peaked at No. 49 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The remix further reached the top position on both the US Christian Songs and Gospel Songs charts, becoming the first number-one on these charts for both Khaled and Eminem. It also marked the first entry for both artists and West’s fifth chart-topper on the two charts.

In the video which recently surfaced online, The D.O.C. says: “I think Eminem is one of the greatest. No question about it bro. Em is off my tree. You know, every one of us come from somebody. I can hear me in him. He’s a true f**king artist.”

The D.O.C. thanks Eminem, Dr. Dre & others for working on new documentary

A new documentary titled The DOC, which the legendary rapper The D.O.C. produced himself and first-time film director Dave Caplan helmed, is telling Tracy Lynn Curry’s full story, from his humble beginnings in Dallas to his recent religious reawakening.

The film’s talking heads are a who’s who of hip-hop, including interviews with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Tone Loc, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Too $hort, Xzibit, and on and on, as well as members of Curry’s family and his ex Erykah Badu.

The movie premiered few days ago in New York as part of the Tribeca Film Festival and it will be available for streaming soon.

The D.O.C. took a time to share a picture with Eminem and Dr. Dre on his Instagram to show the appreciation to every person who were involved in the project: “All of these amazing people did a fantastic job on what they’re calling the Hidden Gem at Tribeca!! Thank you all!”

Eminem shows love to The D.O.C. & recite his lyrics in ‘The DOC’ documentary

Earlier this year it was announced that a documentary about legendary rapper The D.O.C. is premiering this summer, and it features heavyweight cast of Hip Hop stars like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Too $hort, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger and more.

The documentary is set to premiere this week at the Tribeca Festival. The Dave Caplan-directed feature promises to tell the story of D.O.C. from his work in the Fila Fresh Crew to grappling with his legacy in the world of hip-hop.

In the clip shared by Slim Shady with the caption: “No one can do it better… me and THE DOC from his upcoming documentary,” Eminem offers some high praise for one of D.O.C.’s best solo songs and highlights how he really pioneered the West-Coast sound in the late ‘80s.

“He was doing things that nobody had done yet, like just lyrically “I would’ve been down with Rock but I’d be broke / By the punk, I’m openin’ up my trunk / To reveal, death, livin’ it up, my life is like a story / Yellin’ it, ‘cause nobody else is tellin’ it / Checkin’ it, always gettin’ paid ‘cause the rap is sort of a twist.” rapped Eminem the song titled “Mind Blowin'” from 1989 album No One Can Do It Better.

He then called over D.O.C. to hear him rap the verse, for a clarification on one of the track’s lines. “What the f**k… What was that right there?” he said after interrupting himself. “Never a segment in negative / ‘Cause I’m employin’ what you’ve been missin,’” he replied.

“How the f**k did you do that s**t, goddamn,” Em added.

The D.O.C. teases new Eminem and Dr. Dre albums

The D.O.C., who has recently teamed up with Dr. Dre and Eminem for “Gospel” song from GTA V: The Contract soundtracks, answered few questions from fans on Twitter.

The legendary hip-hop artist retweeted the user who asked about Eminem’s album and then replied: “It’s probably pretty close but I can’t say.”
