Eminem performs at Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov fight

Eminem took the stage for a rare performance at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on August 3, 2024, running through a medley of some of his greatest hits at the start of the WB junior middleweight boxing match between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov.

The Detroit legend, who most recently released his chart-topping 12th solo studio album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” performed in support of Crawford, who he previously walked out at a match in Las Vegas last year. The 15-minute set took place before the square-off, with Slim Shady opening the set with his latest chart-topping single “Houdini.”

Eminem hit double speed during “Rap God” before shouting out his choice boxer. “Yo California, make some motherf–kin’ noise for Terence Crawford!” he declared, running through “Till I Collapse” featuring the late Nate Dogg and playing a brief snippet of Queen’s iconic song “We Will Rock You.” It culminated in the appropriately picked “Cinderella Man” and concluded with magnum opus song “Lose Yourself.”

Crawford won the match with scores of 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 to become a four-division champion. He told ESPN, “Israil was a tough competitor. I knew he was going to be tough. … He’s real strong, he’s durable, he took a lot of good shots and he got me to Round 12. … He had fast feet, good rhythm upstairs. … He was waiting to counter me just like I was trying to counter him.”

Em’s performance is the latest surrounding “The Death of Slim Shady.” In June, he gave a surprise four-song set at “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central,” a hometown event featuring Diana Ross, Big Sean, Jack White and more to celebrate the grand reopening of Michigan Central Station. Last month, he took the stage alongside Dr. Dre in London for the launch of his mentor’s Gin & Juice drinks line.

Eminem to perform during Terence Crawford & Israil Madrimov fight

BREAKING: Eminem is scheduled to perform at the Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov fight on August 3rd, 2024, at the Bank of Montreal Stadium in Los Angeles for the Riyadh Season Card.

Eminem is probably supporting Terence Crawford again. Last year, as sports fans across the world waited for the incendiary welterweight boxing championship match between Terence Crawford and his archrival Errol Spence Jr., Slim Shady made an unprecedented surprise appearance during the ring walk in Las Vegas.

Marshall, who joined Crawford during his welterweight title match at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, hyped the crowd up just ahead of one of the most influential boxing matches of our times. “Las Vegas, make some noise for the next undisputed welterweight champion of the world, Terence ‘Bud’ f—ing Crawford,” Eminem roared to the roaring crowd at the packed arena.

The Detroit icon didn’t rap the song as a recording of the track simply played while they walked out. However, his appearance was still a big deal in itself. As for how Crawford managed to get Eminem as his hype man? All it took was a simple DM. “I throw a rock in a haystack and he replied, I told him to pull up, and he said, ‘I’m there. You’re one of my favorite fighters,’” Crawford said (via Rolling Stone). “That showed a lot of support for me, and that showed what level I’m at in the boxing world.”

Terence Crawford will step into the ring against light-middleweight world champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles as he attempts to win a world title at a fourth different weight.
The 36-year-old holds an unbeaten record in 40 professional fights, winning all of them, and has held world titles in the welterweight, super-lightweight and lightweight divisions.

His opponent Madrimov defeated Magomed Kurbanov to win the vacant belt in March. The 29-year-old is also unbeaten and has won 10 fights and drawn one. “Terence Crawford is one of my favourite boxers and one of the best boxers in the world,” he said. “I am very excited to get this opportunity to make a statement, and I will”….And few minutes ago, Eminem was announced as the special guest performer for the fight night. Terence Crawford hangs out with Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg as Dr Dre is honored in Hollywood

Terence Crawford was out in Hollywood on March 19 night to celebrate legendary Dr. Dre getting a star on the coveted Walk of Fame. “Major congratulations @drdre on your Hollywood Star. Honored to have been a part of your special day today. Long overdue and very well deserved.” Captioned Crawford on Instagram. Crystina Poncher, international play-by-play commentator and host for Top Rank Boxing and ESPN replied: “Ok this pic is GOATED! I don’t even care if that’s not a real word, it’s what it is!” King Iso, Nebraska rapper who currently is signed to Tech N9ne’s label Strange Music, replied with “GOATs” emojis.

Dr Dre is a long-time supporter of Crawford’s. Ahead of his WBO welterweight title defense fight against ‘Mean Machine’ Egidijus Kavaliauskas back in 2019, the Top Rank cameras captured a Facetime conversation between Crawford and the hip-hop icon. “Hey man, I just wanted to say I’m a super fan and I’ve been following your career for a long time. I respect you man and I love what you’re doing. Everything about you is fire.” said Dre.

Eminem is also a fan of Crawford. Last summer Slim Shady was in Las Vegas to walk boxer Terence Crawford to the ring for his title fight against Errol Spence Jr. “Las Vegas, make some noise for the next undisputed welterweight champion of the world, Terence “Bud” f–king Crawford,” Eminem yelled to the star-filled crowd as the signature beats of his 8 Mile hit “Lose Yourself” filled the T-Mobile Arena.

Following his victory, Crawford told Showtime about how he managed to get Eminem to be his hype man, saying he simply DM’d the rapper. “I throw a rock in a haystack and he replied, I told him to pull up, and he said, ‘I’m there. You’re one of my favorite fighters,’” Crawford said. “That showed a lot of support for me, and that showed what level I’m at in the boxing world.”

Lil Wayne & Terence Crawford show love to Eminem

The undisputed boxing champion Terence Crawford sat down with Lil Wayne on Episode 3 of Season 2 of Weezy’s Young Money radio show on Apple Music where the two talked about Eminem walking out with Crawford against Errol Spence fight last summer.

Lil Wayne: I hope you realize how much of a legend you are cause you got Eminem to walk out with you. He don’t do that for nobody. Man, Em don’t even come out for shows, nothing.

Terence Crawford: “Man, I was thrown by that. When he comment on my status, my post on my Instagram, I was just like ‘WOW!’. Then I commented on it and he replied and hit me in the inbox, I was like ‘oh, it’s really going down.’ I was kinda skeptical until he got there and we got there, I was like ‘oh, this is real!’. Everything worked out like the way it was supposed to.

Lil Wayne: Shout out to Em man. I saw him at Tyson fight too. Tyson Fury fight. He was up there and I was like ‘damn, they got Em come way out here?!’ And he had like million people around him and it looks so aggravating.

Crawford defeated Spence via ninth-round technical knockout to become the first male to win the undisputed championship in two weight classes in the four belt era.

Shakur Stevenson talks meeting Eminem at Terence Crawford fight

Shakur Stevenson says there might be a chance Eminem could walk him out for his next fight following a recent meeting between the pair.

The two-weight world champion will fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title against Edwin De Los Santos on November 16, 2023 and has not ruled out being accompanied by the Detroit legend.

Having escorted Terrence Crawford to the ring for his July battle against Errol Spence, Slim Shady is no stranger to the boxing scene.

He was also present when Tyson Fury defeated Francis Ngannou in a split decision in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Stevenson revealed that he met the lyricist during the weekend of the Crawford v Spence fight in Las Vegas and let slip a conversation between the pair.

“I actually met him the night before the fight. He told me he was a big fan and actually he is a big fan because when he saw me he was like ‘man, two of my favorite boxers, I finally get to meet them. Nobody can beat you man, it’s just too hard to hit you man.” – Shakur Stevenson told ES News.

The ringing endorsement from one of music’s biggest stars pleased the Olympic silver medalist who also hinted at a possible collaboration with Eminem in the near future.

When asked if Marshall Mathers could walk him to the ring in his next fight, he replied: “I don’t know, we’ll see, we’ll see.”

Joe Budden reacts to Eminem walking out Terence Crawford

For the second time last month, Eminem made a surprise appearance at a packed arena that was not one of his own shows.

Two weeks after popping up onstage at Ed Sheeran’s concert at Detroit’s Ford Field stadium, Eminem was in Las Vegas to walk boxer Terence Crawford to the ring for his title fight Saturday night against Errol Spence Jr.

“When this song comes on you can do anything in the world. You can accomplish anything you want to accomplish out there. It’s a cheat code. Yo, I was in my room by the time this beat drop, I said ‘HOLY S–T’! WHAT THE F–K! OHHH MYYYY GOD!’ I switched sides so fast. Before Em could sing his Mom’s Spaghetti on his shirt, DAWG! I know me and Em may have had our differences but this right here, this is what this song was made for! OH MY GOOOD!” says Joe Budden in the video.
