Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre announce “Missionary” album release date

Snoop Dogg has finally announced the release date for his much anticipated new album “Missionary,” produced entirely by the one and only Dr. Dre.

“Missionary,” which is being billed as the sequel to Snoop’s 1993 debut “Doggystyle,” is set for release on December 13, 2024. It marks the first full-length collaboration between Dre and Snoop since “Doggystyle.”

The rap icon made the announcement with a promotional video on social media where two Mormon missionaries knock on a stranger’s door, only to be met with a woman in full lingerie who tells them, “What the f–k? Your ad said you were dedicated to missionary work.”

Snoop first mentioned the album back in 2022, when he said that it would be done that November. He billed it as a “30th anniversary to ‘Doggystyle,’” which Dr. Dre produced in full. That album became the fastest-selling hip-hop album ever at the time, and has since been hailed as one of the best rap records of all-time.

Though little information is known about “Missionary,” both Snoop and Dre have dropped hints about the project over the past few years. In August, Dre said that he was close to finishing mixing the album and that Sting would be one of its features. Snoop reiterated the Sting feature earlier this month, and confirmed that Jelly Roll would also appear on the set.

Several other emcees and musicians have claimed that they’ve either heard the project or will be featured on it. 50 Cent said he’d be on the album in March, and Method Man confirmed that he would also grace the set during a “Drink Champs” interview last month. Eminem is also rumored to be on the album… Watch the trailer of the announcement below.

Dr. Dre shares details on Snoop Dogg’s “Missionary” album

Dr. Dre has recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner about performing with Snoop Dogg at the LA28 handover during the Paris 2024 Olympics closing ceremony. Along with revealing his hopes to try out for the 2028 Olympics in archery, Dre dishes on what fans can expect from Snoop Dogg’s forthcoming new album, ‘Missionary,’ which is set to be released later this year. The upcoming project, which Dr. Dre is producing, marks the first time the dynamic duo has collaborated on an album in 30 years and includes a feature from Sting and an ‘amazing roster’ of other artists.

“Me and Snoop are working together again and it’s been 30 years, believe it or not, I’ve only produced one album for Snoop, which was Doggystyle and that was 30 years ago. We’ve done a lot of things in between and songs and performances and film and things of that nature but this is my first time I’m actually producing the entire album on him.” said Dr. Dre

Then he continued: “Back then, it was much more fun because we were kids at that time. And this is going to show different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career so I’m really having fun with the music. I said it and I’m proud of it. I’m not playing. Snoop is really excited about this, so am I. I think people are really going to enjoy this.”

Nischelle Turner the asked about more details on the album, like release date and features. On which Dre replied: “As soon as we finish this interview, I have to go downstairs and start mixing. I wanted  14 songs, Snoop wants 16 so we had that thing happening. So, I’m on song number eleven as far as mixes go. I have to be done and delivered by September 1st to have November release.”

He then continued: “I actually did a couple of songs for the album. I’m not sure if one of them is gonna make it or not. I produced the entire album but vocally I think only one of them is going to make it. We have Sting on the song. We have an amazing roster of artists that’s on this album. I shouldn’t talk about this to be honest.”

“Let me just put this way. You are going to love this album. It’s an album that women are going to enjoy and like I said, it shows a massive amount of growth and maturity with the lyrics and with the music.” Dr. Dre added. You can watch the entire interview below:

Snoop Dogg reacts to Eminem’s new single “Houdini”

DJ Whoo Kid has recently sat down with Snoop Dogg where the two talked about Eminem’s latest chart-topping single “Houdini,” from his upcoming 12th solo studio album “The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace),” due out July 5, 2024.

When Whoo Kid asked Snoop about “Houdini,” the legendary started singing the hook of the original song “Abracadabra” by Steve Miller Band after explaining who the real Houdini was: “Houdini, you know, what do Houdini do? The ni–a disappear and come back. Ain’t that what Em do? He’s a magician. Ni–a you ain’t even know that. Who do you think Houdini was? Ni–a that made airplanes? Abracadabra, Abra-abra-cadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya.”

Then Snoop went to shout out Eminem: “That s–t bang. Shout out to Slim Shady. Welcome back, back to the block dawg. Bring some more real hip-hop back. You know what I’m talking about? Detroit! Aye, Mom’s Spaghetti got some bomb a-s food too cuz. Send me some. That garlic bread.”

Last week, Eminem returns with “Houdini,” a hard-hitting new single accompanied by a fitting video that features cameos from Snoop Dogg himself, as well as Dr. Dre, Pete Davidson 50 Cent, Jimmy Iovine, Grip, Westside Boogie, Denaun Porter, Royce 5’ 9”, Paul Rosenberg, The Alchemist, EZ Mil, Ryan Keely, Samantha Mack, and comedian Shane Gillis…Check out Snoop’s interview below:

Hardy covers Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s “Gin And Juice”

Hardy‘s mama ain’t home and that means it’s time to party. The Philadelphia, Mississippi-born country rock musician served up “Gin and Juice” with a twist on his newly-released cover of the Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s classic tune. The cover fuses country rock with California rap as Hardy lays out the itinerary for his night with the boys: roll down the street smoking indo, shoot some deer with the bullets filling up his pockets, and throw back some G&Js.

“A while back, I got a phone call saying that Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg would like for me to record my own version of ‘Gin and Juice’ for the launch of their new drink, Gin&Juice,” Hardy shared in a statement. “I’m still in disbelief, but I am so stoked that I’m dropping my version of ‘Gin and Juice’ with the blessing of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg themselves. Thankful for the opportunity.”

On his Instagram post, Hardy captioned: “I’m still in disbelief, but I am so stoked to announce that I recorded my version of this classic record for the short film Gin and Juice with the blessing of @drdre and @snoopdogg themselves. Thankful for the opportunity. Song drops tonight at 11p CT. Enjoy @dreandsnoop.”

Hardy kept the structure of “Gin and Juice” as a foundation for his own spin on it, which name dropped some friends and flipped Snoop Dogg’s “Gs up, hoes down while you motherf–kers bounce to this” with “Gs up, h-es down while you rednecks bounce to this.” In this version, the drink Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre took in the middle of the street is now swallowed down on an old back road, but his mind is still on his money and his money is still on his mind.

Hardy will explore more of this rock sound — and potentially less of the rap sound — on his as-yet-untitled forthcoming studio album. Two songs from the record, including “Rockstar” and “Quit,” have already been released. Earlier this year, Hardy performed at the Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace Big Game After Party at Encore Beach Club inside Wynn Las Vegas. The massive, star-studded Super Bowl after party was hosted by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre…You can bump the new cover below:

Wallie the Sensei describes witnessing Eminem, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg in recent studio session

Wallie the Sensei emerged as the new face of Compton hip-hop with his 2020 single “Scandalous,” where he offsets grim gangsta narratives with silky-smooth production and an elastic, irresistibly melodic flow. He has recently sat down with Bootleg Kev where he described meeting Eminem and Snoop Dogg in Dr. Dre’s house and witnessing the three hip-hop titans recording couple of tracks together.

I just f–king met Eminem, Dr. Dre and Snoop. I went to Dre house for a day and I got to sit in the session and watch them work. Bro, that was the dopest s–t I’ve ever seen. One of my homies is related to Dre and since I got s–t buzzing, he was like ‘I gotta get you over there’. Dre’s house is co comfortable I fell asleep for hours.

That s–t was cold. They were working on the last couple songs of and album, I don’t know if it was for Snoop album? But Dre was really particular with these bars and s–t. When he got his star, Snoop gave a speech and said Dre still makes him do very line thousand motherf–king time, he was not cappnig. All of them are legends, Snoop, Em, Dre. I’m so grateful to be on that session and hopefully one day I can be like them. Me being there led me to meet dopest producer in the f–king world, Dem Jointz. Bro he cold. Terence Crawford hangs out with Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg as Dr Dre is honored in Hollywood

Terence Crawford was out in Hollywood on March 19 night to celebrate legendary Dr. Dre getting a star on the coveted Walk of Fame. The former two-weight undisputed champion took star-studded photo shots with Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg as they showed up to support the iconic rapper and producer on his very special day.

Snoop Dogg / Terence Crawford

“Major congratulations @drdre on your Hollywood Star. Honored to have been a part of your special day today. Long overdue and very well deserved.” Captioned Crawford on Instagram. Crystina Poncher, international play-by-play commentator and host for Top Rank Boxing and ESPN replied: “Ok this pic is GOATED! I don’t even care if that’s not a real word, it’s what it is!” King Iso, Nebraska rapper who currently is signed to Tech N9ne’s label Strange Music, replied with “GOATs” emojis.

Dr Dre is a long-time supporter of Crawford’s. Ahead of his WBO welterweight title defense fight against ‘Mean Machine’ Egidijus Kavaliauskas back in 2019, the Top Rank cameras captured a Facetime conversation between Crawford and the hip-hop icon. “Hey man, I just wanted to say I’m a super fan and I’ve been following your career for a long time. I respect you man and I love what you’re doing. Everything about you is fire.” said Dre.

Eminem is also a fan of Crawford. Last summer Slim Shady was in Las Vegas to walk boxer Terence Crawford to the ring for his title fight against Errol Spence Jr. “Las Vegas, make some noise for the next undisputed welterweight champion of the world, Terence “Bud” f–king Crawford,” Eminem yelled to the star-filled crowd as the signature beats of his 8 Mile hit “Lose Yourself” filled the T-Mobile Arena.

Following his victory, Crawford told Showtime about how he managed to get Eminem to be his hype man, saying he simply DM’d the rapper. “I throw a rock in a haystack and he replied, I told him to pull up, and he said, ‘I’m there. You’re one of my favorite fighters,’” Crawford said. “That showed a lot of support for me, and that showed what level I’m at in the boxing world.”

Watch: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent on Jimmy Kimmel Live

After getting a star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Dr. Dre sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live with Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent where the legendary hip-hop producer talked about Snoop Dogg’s upcoming album, Eminem’s upcoming album, making of “Get Rich Or Die Tryin‘” and “Forgot About Dre” and more. The crew also did “Dre’s Anatomy” sketch for JKL.

Dr. Dre on “Forgot About Dre”
Usually, the track is laid out [before the lyrics]. Every now and then artist comes in with the lyrics first and that has only happened couple of times in my career. One time it was with Eminem on a song called “Forgot About Dre.” Eminem wrote that. He had the entire song written before the track so we had to make the track work for his lyrics. He wrote that entire song.

Dr. Dre on Snoop Dogg’s upcoming album “Missionary” which is entirely produced by Dre himself
Let me take it from here. As long as we’ve been known each other…The first album I’ve done with Snoop was in 1993. And it’s the only album I ever produced on Snoop. 30 years ago, so now, believe it or not, we are getting together again and we are almost done with the album. The first album was called “Doggystyle” so we decided to flip it and call this one “Missionary.” [Snoop Dogg added: “It’s gonna come out. Dr. Dre will begin mixing in mid April.”]

Dr. Dre and 50 Cent on “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'”
50 Cent: Dre is complete inspiration for me. I’ve been listening to his music before it was even a serious idea for me to get next to him. And when I got to the studio, even our first record, it was four days, I think we did eight joints…
Dr. Dre: No, it was seven days. Okay, let me tell you the story. Let me interrupt 50 for a second. So, I did “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'” and it was supposed to be me producing half of the album and Eminem producing the other half. I was in the studio with 50 for just seven days of my entire half of the album. He came in there and went crazy. Writing, alright put up another one, writing, put up another one and we got entire thing done in seven days. At least my half. That’s what happened.

50 Cent reveals he’s featured on “The Missionary” album
I got one with Snoop. I’ll tell you how that works. I get text message from Dre, I get text message from Em almost simultaneously and it goes like ‘stop what you doing, I don’t care if you producing television shows, I don’t care what you doing, stop and figure out how to get this done for us right now because it’s that urgent.’ And then I went and wrote my part. When I get it done, I sent it back and I get fire emojis back cause Dre usually don’t say things.

Dr. Dre on new Eminem album
Let me tell you something. Let me explain something right now. Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year and I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So yeah, the album coming out, I got songs on it and it’s fire. I’m actually going to hear entire album for the first time tomorrow. He holds his music close to his chest so I have not heard everything. I have not even heard everything complete that I’ve done but I’m gonna hear it and he’s putting out album this year. There are things on there that I have to mix that I’ve done but I got a chance to hear album in its entirety.

Jimmy Kimmel gets embarrassing help from Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent & Snoop Dogg in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ parody

Last night, after Dr. Dre was awarded with the star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame, the iconic producer joined Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live with other hip-hop icons Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent. And he marked the occasion with parody of ABC’s popular TV show “Grey’s Anatomy” starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Eminem, titled “Dre’s Anatomy”

The sketch featured Jimmy Kimmel getting some humiliating help from the hip-hop legends (which mainly involves jokes about the size of his p-nis). The scene saw Kimmel wheeled into the ER where Dr. Dre diagnosed him as not having a p-nis. Dre then called in “Dr. Broadus” AKA Snoop Doggy Dogg, who wasn’t able to see until Dre handed him a magnifying glass.

At this point they called in a specialist, “Dr. Jackson,” and 50 Cent came out. “What do you think,” Dre asked as 50 Cent pulled out a giant telescope. After looking, 50 smirked and sighed. “Sorry,” he said to Kimmel. After an amazed reaction by Snoop, Dre opted to remove the offending organ — while receiving unhelpful directions from Snoop. “It looks like a piece of bubble gum,” Snoop said. “Guys, could you put that back? I came in for a colonoscopy,” Kimmel said. “I don’t know what’s going on here but I, maybe I’ll come back later? Tomorrow or something?”

“Relax, nephew,” Snoop said before putting an anesthetic face mask on Kimmel that was very obviously dispensing weed smoke. This sent Kimmel into a weird medical state as his heart rate elevated — but alas, the beeping of the EKG sounded like the opening notes of Dre’s hit song “Still” and the three rappers started performing instead. Which killed Kimmel. Rest in peace! The bit ended with a joke about how the show just before “Dre’s Anatomy” is called “EM” — starring Eminem. Watch the video clip above now.

Eminem pays tribute to Bo$$ following her death

Eminem and Snoop Dogg have paid tribute to Def Jam pioneer hip-hop artist Bo$$, following her death at the age of 54. Bo$$ whose real name is Lichelle Marie Laws, was the first ever female rapper to be signed to Def Jam, with her one and only album titled Born Gangstaz released to success in 1993. While no cause of death has yet been released, Bo$$ was known to have struggled in the past with kidney failure.

Eminem was among those to pay tribute to the pioneering artist, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday (March 12, 2024) to his fellow Detroit native. “Bo$$ rep’d the D so well as a pioneer. Such a talented MC. RIP!!!” Em wrote. Snoop Dogg also mourned Bo$$’ passing after hearing the news, writing on Instagram: “Damn. My homegirl before I got on. In the D. Game.”

Bun B was the one who broke the tragic news earlier this week, posting on social media: “Rest in peace to my big sis Lichelle Laws AKA Boss. One of the best female MCs and a dear friend. Give Rick Royal a hug for me. Long Live The Org!” DJ Premier also left a heartfelt tribute to her: “Damn! R.I.P. BO$$. Condolences to your family… We did a dope ‘Deeper Rmx’ @defjam never released. Back in 1993 she came to D & D and recut her vocals to my beat. It was so RAW. We had a good session drinking 40’s, puffin Lah and vibing. Can someone at Def Jam find that in the Vaults? I want a copy of that Remix. Sleep Peacefully Queen. S–t was mad real.”

Warren G also posted about the news as he wrote: “Rip Lichelle aka Bos one of the Dopest females to rap and was a good friend and label mate. #DefJam.” Various other artists posted tributes to Bo$$ including Jermaine Dupri, Jadakiss, 9th Wonder, Ed Lover, Lloyd Banks and Slim Thug.

Dr. Dre crowns Eminem as ‘Best MC Ever’

Eminem and Dr. Dre are among the most iconic collaborative duos to ever grace the world of hip-hop. Even two decades and half into their relationship, The West Coast legend still believes that the Detroit legend is the best to ever pick up a microphone. Dre stopped by SiriusXM’s The Life of Mine With James Corden show on Thursday (March 14, 2024), where he championed Slim Shady’s greatness.

Dre reflected on meeting Eminem for the first time at Jimmy Iovine’s office in the ’90s and how their first time in the studio produced The Slim Shady LP‘s “My Name Is.” “I met Eminem at Jimmy Iovine’s office. We slapped hands, went to the studio and started recording and I’m not sure if anybody knows this, but I think the first four albums was just me and him and his writing and his delivery and his imagination is off the charts and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.” said Dr. Dre.

Then he continued: “Hi, my name is, is the first thing that happened. I put the beat on and he just did that right away. We are in the studio. I hit play on it, and he just went ‘Hi, my name is!’ It happened that fast. No bullsh–t. And then we went from there and that was the beginning of this relationship. And I think he is the best emcee ever. Point blank, period. Of course there gonna be arguments about that because he’s white guy, you know. I don’t think anyone that is rapping can touch Eminem on microphone.”

Dre is also reuniting with an old friend for a new project, as Dre’s teasing an album on the way with Snoop Dogg: “I know as odd as it sounds, I’ve only produced one album on Snoop, which was in 1993, Doggystyle. I mean, we’ve done some songs and we’ve played around in between, of course, but that is the one and only album I’ve produced on Snoop, Doggystyle, so we decided to call this one Missionary. Snoop is really sounding fantastic and people are gonna be really shocked and amazed at how we’ve been able to come back together after all these years and do something. It’s really interesting.”
