Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre announce “Missionary” album release date

Posted on October 30, 2024 By Remy Gelenidze

Snoop Dogg has finally announced the release date for his much anticipated new album “Missionary,” produced entirely by the one and only Dr. Dre.

“Missionary,” which is being billed as the sequel to Snoop’s 1993 debut “Doggystyle,” is set for release on December 13, 2024. It marks the first full-length collaboration between Dre and Snoop since “Doggystyle.”

The rap icon made the announcement with a promotional video on social media where two Mormon missionaries knock on a stranger’s door, only to be met with a woman in full lingerie who tells them, “What the f–k? Your ad said you were dedicated to missionary work.”

Snoop first mentioned the album back in 2022, when he said that it would be done that November. He billed it as a “30th anniversary to ‘Doggystyle,’” which Dr. Dre produced in full. That album became the fastest-selling hip-hop album ever at the time, and has since been hailed as one of the best rap records of all-time.

Though little information is known about “Missionary,” both Snoop and Dre have dropped hints about the project over the past few years. In August, Dre said that he was close to finishing mixing the album and that Sting would be one of its features. Snoop reiterated the Sting feature earlier this month, and confirmed that Jelly Roll would also appear on the set.

Several other emcees and musicians have claimed that they’ve either heard the project or will be featured on it. 50 Cent said he’d be on the album in March, and Method Man confirmed that he would also grace the set during a “Drink Champs” interview last month. Eminem is also rumored to be on the album… Watch the trailer of the announcement below.
