Westside Boogie teases new music under Shady Records

Westside Boogie is preparing for the follow up of “Everything’s For Sale,” which will be the second release under Shady Records.

Most recently, Boogie shared the behind scenes video of himself and Joey Bada$$. In the video, we can hear the short snippet of the upcoming song which interpolates Eminem’s “The Way I Am” lyrics.

Shady Records artist also dropped few freestyles via his social media accounts and it seems it was a warm up for what’s coming. Yesterday, Westside shared a video teaser where the Compton rapper is being kidnapped by a fan for not releasing a new album.

In the next video, which was also shared by Eminem himself, Boogie was forced to rap in the kidnapper’s basement. Watch it below:

Today, 6 Years Ago, Shady Records dropped “Shady XV”

On this day, exactly 6 years ago (November 24, 2014), Shady Records label dropped a double disk, compilation album Shady XV, performed by various artists, under Shady Records and Interscope Records, executive produced by Eminem.

The album was released in honor of the label’s 15th anniversary and if features Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D12 and Yelawolf, as well as the label’s boss Eminem. The second disc includes some of Shady Records greatest hits, featuring 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Obie Trice, Ca$his an more.

The album debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 chart and No.1 on US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, with first-week sales of 138,000 copies in the United States and following year the album was certified Gold in the country by RIAA for selling 500,000 copies.

One of the most surprising tracks on the album appears as a bonus track and its the demo version of “Lose Yourself.” Eminem recorded demo version before completely rewriting the song to make it fit with the Jimmy Smith/B-Rabbit character from the 8 Mile movie. As Eminem says in on of his interviews, he does not even remember when and where he recorded the demo version of the Oscar-wining song.

WS Gunn leaves Shady Records, says Griselda biopic would be better than 8 Mile & Get Rich Or Die Tryin’

During a recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, Westside Gunn revealed that he’s off Eminem’s Shady Records. The founder of the almighty Griselda Records told to Joe Budden, Rory and Mal:

“Um, I am off Shady. I am off Shady. I am actually a free agent. It feels great. Who Made The Sunshine album was it. I already spoke to Paul Rosenberg. Everything is good. Like, everything is signed, sealed and delivered I have my paperwork, like I’m off Shady.

“I am one of those type of dudes I am not no public talking ni**a. That is just how I move. It is like saying me and Benny or me and Conway or Conway and Benny or whoever, we might have a disagreement, but the world will never know. We still gonna be brothers and cousins. It is the same way even with business, because at the end of the day, this a big world. Even if somebody else is a sucka, I am never gonna play that sucka role.”

Westside Gunn also talked about the possibility of Griselda biopic, which as he says “will be better than 50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin and Eminem’s 8 Mile”

“No disrespect to nobody but Griselda’s story is better than others. Our story is way bigger than Marshall and Fifty and they have got movies. Conway got shot into head twice. We lost Machine Gunn. Ni**as were in prison. Ni**as are from eastside Buffalo. However you wanna play it our story is better.”
